- Blair witch style hunting video.
I just videoed some on my phone and tried to put the pieces together to tell the story.
Main take away. Be positive it’s a legal bull before you pull the trigger.
We headed back for the same hunt we did 3 years prior to try to get Sam’s tag punched.
Fly in drop off Alaska hunt.
Caribou and moose tags.
I’m using my Christensen Arms Ridgeline Titanium in 28 nosler
Burris Eliminator Scope - Sport
Anyone that has not hauled that much meat has no clue how much work you took on. Amazing !!!!
You’re the hardest working hunter I’ve ever seen!!!! I love these DIY Alaskan hunts.
Dude. 9mm is not even close to being bear protection. That's a false sense of security right there. If you're going to carry a handgun for protection in lieu of a long gun, please carry a revolver in the future. Not a 9 mm, 10 mm, or .45 ACP -- a revolver. .41 mag, .44 mag or something bigger.
9mm LMAO!
Good luck with that sport!
Dream hunt!! Amazing animals and footage. Thanks for sharing!!!
Great video! You put in a lot of work and it paid off, congratulations.
What an awesome trip. Great work, nice video.
Such an awesome video thanks for taking the time to make this well done
I use to live in Tok and ate at Fast Eddie's all the time. Turkey Tom is my favorite. Killed my first bull in the 40 mile country and used 40 mile Air all the time. Thx for sharing
Congrats young men! Great job!
Nice work. That was a big bull with crazy character.
Awesome video. Thanks for sharing. Going on our first hunt this fall. It’s all I think about 😂
Thank you. It'll be all you think about when you get back too 😅
Awesome video Justin and awesome hunt! Congratulations to you both. Some very nice bulls there!!
You are a badass in my book! Packing a whole moose is no joke. Awesome video!
Sure would have liked to see a short clip or picks of the pilots. They must be incredibly skilled!
Wow, awesome! Good old 40 mile air.
Hey just a heads up, Using the walkie talkie's is illegal. I know you didn't use it to find the moose are anything like that. Just a heads up in case you ever make another trip up. I'd hate for your hunt to get spoiled by something like that. Beautiful you by the way.
You got lucky with that Bull. If he had been just 4 inches shorter, you'd have been screwed.
Awesome hunt. Congrats!
Very cool!
Congratulations, thanks for sharing
Great bulls....
Awesome hunt congrats
Nice video....NO MUSIC....WHICH IS GREAT
you were not sure about 50", but shot anyway? stay home next time.
I keep wanting to edit that.
It didn't come off right.
I thought it was legal. But to close to legal. I thought it was 56 before it looked at me. Then i thought no it's not that big. I thought it was big enough. But to close to be shooting also. I thought it was 53 probably when i pulled the trigger.
I also edited out where I said, the worst part would be hauling all this out and then having to turn the meat over.
It still wouldn't go to waste. It gets donated. I'd have to pay a fine.
But nothing is wasted. A resident could actually shoot any bull.
Where did you fly to out of 40 mile air?? We just got back from Moose and grizzly hunting south east of tok in the Wrangell/St. Elias range
Does Don still hunt? And are you guys planning on going back to Alaska hunting?
Very successful hunt.
I am inspired!
Did he say he was carrying a 9mm for bear protection ? Might want to re-think that next time out .
Love your videos and enthusiasm. What 338 Caliber / rifle are you shooting ?
Sam had a 338 win mag. I think it’s a Winchester model 70
I have a 28 nosler, Christensen Ridgeline Titanium
Don't worry Alaska Game Wardens give you an inch or 2 of Lee way......lol I'm jk they dont...they really really don't
Awesome video!!! I’m just starting to look into a DIY Alaskan moose hunt. Any suggestions and what air taxi service did you use?
Congratulations to you all a great hunt and plenty of fresh healthy meat . What did the biggest bull antlers measure
It was only 56” across. But lots of mass. The brows were almost as wide.
The bases and skull were so much bigger than mine. A lot older.
@@cocheran thank you unusual antlers strange shape but rather cool looking . Great conversation piece. Stay safe .
I dont see how you could of done much better. Love your naritive of the hunt, it was exciting to hear. Those bears would of made anyone nervios.
Why would you pull the trigger when you are not sure smh !

I see you drove, so you had to go through Canada...how did you get your handguns through Canadian customs??
Sam flew with all the guns. I only had bear spray in my truck.
nice hunting
Dandy bull.
you got a pistol through Canada?
how does one get tags and plan for a trip like this, always wanted to go on a hunt like this.
Tags are over the counter. And most of the state is public land.
You can purchase tags and get info on Alaska’s game and fish website.
Booking with a transport company like this makes the hunt a lot easier.
I think next time I’m gonna try it solely from my truck. Gonna take some planning 🤔
@@cocheran if you don't mind can you tell me what area you were hunting in it looks beautiful, not looking for GPS coordinates just a place to start.
@@jburt345 looks like 40 mile country (north of tok between the steese and Taylor highways) cool area to hunt, for sure.
@@cocheranwhen you plan on going next time, I’d jump on as someone to take care of Camp . Also would love to Moose Hunt. I’m heading to Maine Moose hunting this year. Have everything for Outdoor Kitchen been doing for years
How did you drive through Canada with a restricted weapon
My buddy flew with all the guns.
Two rifles and two pistols in one rifle case. Checked for $40
Anyone not sure if a animal is legal shouldn't hunt period.
I keep wanting to edit that.

No group on paper.
? Not sure the question.
I shot one at 100. Touching the orange
Then shot one at 560. That’s the target i show.
Then I shot one at 350. It was about 5” high. I changed my ballistic coefficient in the scope and got it on. And took a couple in between at 560. The last one i shot at 560 was the closest to center.
The last one at 300 bullseyed the target.
1 moa at 560 is 5.6”. Didn’t plan to shoot that far. Just like it to be on.
their is so much wrong with you shooting it being not sure if it is legal.

And shooting any bull no matter how big without enough brow tines is nerve racking until you get the tape on it. Never know if you could be wrong judging
sign me up
Hmm. Pistols thru Canada.
Nope. I took no firearms with me. Sam flew the guns. Two rifles and 2 pistols in one case with ammo. 49lbs. Checked it for $40
Some people don't think or listen
Wooo barely 50 I bet after drying it isn't 50 anymore only matters though green, ya wouldn't have shot
That is only really the case if the animal is in velvet.
