The Zeus looks to be everything I hoped the Spirit C1 would be. I think an awful lot will upgrade to that, and the Cutty Black will remain its usual versatile self that can’t be topped at the price point.
The C1 ist more designed for solo+ gamers. The Zeus does need 2 players minimum.
I would update my C1 if I had a "friend" in starcitizen to play with.
I will be keeping my c1 but definitely might add the mk2 to my fleet. The massive cargo hold and a docking port is so appealing.
I think the differences between the Freelancer Series, Cutlass Series, Spirit series and Zeus series are going to become greater once we get master modes. I think the Cutlass and Freelancers will see significant changes once they get their gold pass. Like I expect the Freelancer's ladder access to get moved to the small section between the cargo hold and cockpit/living quarters. Maybe the Freelancer crew will gain access to control the remote turrets on the side. The Cutlass Black, Blue and Steel may gain a 3rd bunk bed above the other two along with hygiene and cooking areas. CIG said during the Zeus Citizen Con reveal that it is built on the new ship metrics. There isn't currently room left in the Spirit series for additional components so it will likely stay with one size 2 shield. The Freelancer and Cutlass don't even have locations for components currently.

There is something different I discovered today on the Cuttlas Red.
The scanner can be acessed by the copilot seat. (I made a shortcut to enter the turret. There is no specific key)
And the docking ports on the sides can be deployed.
Seems like there was a secret rework on this ship.
That's a fun update! I love when SC sneaks in small quality of life improvements without notice!
I have the ES and it will be my daily driver. I know things can change but so far it will be a great ship.

Big fan of all the Zeus variants. They have all their speciallity to bring to the table.
This is going to be my Star Citizen ‘Millennium Falcon’ when it’s released.
Maybe something better will be released later, but I like the idea of having ONE special ship that is my ONLY one.
That said, I’ll still hang on to my Avenger Titan, just to make quick pizza and beer runs.

Same also bought the CL cuz every good pirate starts in a clipper
I got the ES first then the CL for smaller but riskier runs than with my Hull B

I bought the ES and the MR and as a cargo ship I will use the MSR
If I didn't already have a 400i, then it would be the ES, but I did get a CCU from C1 to Zeus CL.

I am really looking forward to the Zeus mark 2 MR. I'm hoping there will be a way of adding bounty pods to other ships, but for now, the MR is my favourite of all of the ships that come with that feature.

The only way the C1 spirit doesn’t live up to my expectations was i was thinking it would be fast and agile enough to supplant the mecury star runner as the pre-eminent blockade runner. The shape of the zeus is something i would have made, it's a delta wing lifting body, eminently practical not just from an aerodynamic standpoint, but with a highly functional interior/good use of space which is kind of where the c1 comes up short. It "should" handle pretty decently in atmosphere. However, i would have strapped bigger engines on the top side. I'm expecting the zeus mk2 as a series to be sluggish compared to the c1. So I'm most looking looking forward to the zeus ST (Sports Touring) because i expect it to be in the same endurance racing yacht category as the msr (i like fast ships i can not lie) but im really hoping it will have 32 scu of cargo like the ES. Otherwise the zeus ES will probably be my favorite variant.
I'd love to see how this line shakes up the class. I definitely have a soft spot for the medium exploration ships, so the ES nearly fits my bill. If it just had size 3 large shields I'd be all over it. Sadly its the only thing dissuading me towards it.

I upgraded to an ES from my Freelancer DUR. I like the DUR alot, but the crew hab in the ES made me switch. Yes, Im that nitpicky

I suspect we'll have to see when its fully introduced and have a chance to play with its flight model. For me, it lacks some of the durability I want in my exploration ships (like a size 3 large shield)!
CIG basically made this ship a world beater and now have to sell players on why they would choose any other ship. Buffs inbound!
Yep, once a ship is released and the final sales have been milked the Devs start with the nerf bat. Each concept ship sale is the new meta...until the next great ship comes out.

What about the insurance? No mention about the insurance in this video; however, insurance is like a "hidden tax" and should be taken into consideration when budgeting for purchase. Cloud Imperium Games [CIG] says "The timer for insurance has not yet begun and is not intended to start until the game is live." We wonder how much every six months we have to pay for this ship's insurance.
Thankfully insurance should be nominal, especially on a ship this size. A large fleet of capitals on the other hand is a very different story!
Is the Zeus basically another connie?
No, Connie sits in the large size category, Zeus is a Medium size ship. Both have their place.
I do see the Zeus series as the Connie killer though. The internal layout of the medium Zeus is better than the very cramped linear Connie series. The Zeus exterior looks better than the older RSI ships such as the Auroras and Constellations, early CIG designs before the standards were set for ship component sizes, SCU, etc. There may be an advantage with the ES over the Aquila in jump point sizes they can travel through, if the lore stays consistent on jump points. Who knows with the devs.
@istvan5674 tha Connie has gone through many reworks, I think it's way past due for one currently, but I wouldn't say that the Zeus is going to kill the Connie. When the Connie finally gets it's gold standard pass it will be a much better ship.

@istvan5674 personally I like the Connie design, it needs a lot of work to get to the current RSI standards, but I wouldn't say it's bad design. It's just when the Connie was designed they didn't have the tools to do what they do with ships today.

I disagree with most of your list. No. 5 is cargo hauling but unless it has shielded cargo it has no advantages over a Zeus CL, Crusader Spirit C1 or other space pick-up trucks other than range. As for No. 4, I have the Zeus Mk. II MR which is far superior to the ES for bounty hunting being designed for it. There are many other ships better than the ES for this role also. As for your top choice, as a daily driver, again, no. There are just too many better ships available for solo driving or for a small crew. The point about the Zeus Mark II variants is that they are specialized and not general purpose ships so I think your trying to describe them as multi-role ships is folly. They are very niche ships IMHO.
That being said, the Zeus ES is a damn fine exploration or scout ship as concepted. It is definitely better than the MISC Freelancer DUR and other small-medium pathfinders, scouts and explorers, even better than my Origin 400i Exploration ship which has the same crew size. It does suffer vs. the larger exploration ships in crew and cargo but I would still prefer the ES over the larger Connie Aquila or the Origin 600i (at least until the latter is re-concepted and its' internal layout is fixed). Still, I wouldn't trade my Drake Corsair or Anvil Carrack for an ES.

Dude, u have totally misunderstood the format of this videos. The "Top 5" vids are only in context with the ship. Not in comparison with all ships in the universe.
These videos aren't intended as comparisons to other ships (checkout my comparison series), but rather their uses cases for the ship itself!
