I have this amp and love it. The manual clearly defines the use of the multiple inputs ( 1 & 2) and the volume controls' (Volume, Drive, Master) . The amp has 2 inputs and 2 channels. Input two is a lower impedance and is quieter. If both inputs are used (yes, you can plug in two guitars) the inputs are identical. The channels, "Normal" and "Drive" each have separate volume controls. The "Volume" knob ONLY controls the "Normal" channel. The Drive & Master knobs ONLY control the "Drive" channel. I generally use the volume control on my guitar for fine adjustments for how loud i want to play. I also use the effects loop output/input .... especially useful for a looper peddle. When in doubt, read the instructions.
Hillbilly Gibbons yeah that first slightly overdriven test was done with a string or two outa tune for sure ..wether fretted wrong or intonation etc I don’t know but it was alarming
This was the best video I could find for the amp’s breakdown on the pedals and modifications other than swapping the speaker. I’ll check out Twin Town Guitars in Minneapolis, I’m from St. Paul
All I can hear is the out-of-tune-ness of the guitar. We can't really talk about how the amp sounds until that guitar is in tune. An out of tune guitar makes any amp sound horrible.
hi there I bought this amp and hated it , I have another amp so I just played it now and again ,it looks awesome but the problem was the volume , you need a volume pedal I use mine with a boss gt100 with the boss amps modules turned off so your just hearing the fender amp and using the boss delay ect am also using the boss output level to control the volume , have to say I have grown to love it ive had a few amps but the is my personal favourite love it amazing amp best wishes
Thunderbolt yes the volume control horrible until I had the mods done, now it’s amazing and I really love it. I have a 68 twin reverb and a nice marshal and this is my favorite everyday amp. It also takes pedals great if you have a pedal board.
Hey Peter, no not yet. I moved and had a bunch of stuff in storage for a while. The shop that did all my work was in Minnesota an I’m now in Nebraska. I need to find someone I trust to do the speaker swop.
There is no right or wrong way for loading your pedal board however many recommend you put your time modluated pedal into an effects loop and your overdrive and distortion into the front of the amp however I am like you I just run it all through the front. Its all a mattter of preferrence.
I have tried both and for me I like it better all in front. It’s been a while since I’ve tried separating, maybe I’ll mess with it again some day. God bless.
Could just be me but this sounds a bit muddy. I just played one and loved it at Sam Ash. It was very clear and articulate. Maybe tune up more and use better quality cables. Probably that power soak nob is robbing you some fidelity alont with dB's. Turn that Master volume up.
Different playing a few minutes in the store vs at home with full pedal board... I liked it, I just like it a lot more now. It has much better volume control.
Guitars, Gear & God Understood. Unfortunately, that seems to be the case with any amp....store vs. home vs. stage. You came across like you really didn’t like the amp and did a bunch of mods to fix what you didn’t like. Glad it worked out for you.
I did the same. Also added a Dr Watson Lion Tamer in the Preamp in/out ports. These two additions sound amazing going through an Creamback Alnico speaker.
For those who bought this amp and proceeded to spend several hundred bucks upgrading it, it would've been more economical and less of a headache to have just spent a couple hundred more bucks and purchased a better amp.
Def out of tune ! I own this amp , the original. It’s a great amp , it’s all about dynamics with these tube amps . The more you feel what you are doing the better the sound. No mods needed
The amp sounds muffled and your guitar is definitely out of tune. When your guitar is out of tune it's difficult to get a good idea of how the amp sounds. Whatever mic or recording device your using made the amp sound muddy with no clarity or articulation that Fender amps are normally known for.

I agree, I think it sounds wonderful. It sounds just as good as a 3k custom shop amp.

It sounded fine to me if you don’t have something nice to say then don’t say it 🙃
@@kodaslime1379 fuck off. He needs to tune the guitar. It's not 5th grade
I can hear it out of tune as well. It’s neither nice more mean, it’s just an observation.
It makes the video hard to listen to.

Thank you for the video, I enjoyed it. I have one coming in next week :)
FilippaQ thanks, you will love it, it’s a great amp. Takes pedals great too.
Nice this is a great video!
Any interest in doing a quick follow up vid on this?
I’m having trouble hooking up a Vox Wah with a strat
Could you not tell that you were out of tune?
Thats a nice amp.
Got one today

I use the volume box by Carl custom to tame the sound cost me $24 from reverb
@@guitarsgeargod5492 what mid you did?
Sorry, I know this is 2y old, but the dark brown (idk the name, net?) thing in the front is made of plastic?
6:54 . Input 2 is -6db. For high gain pickups
Now after a year and a half have you done any other mods or replaced the speaker?

How much for the mod?
You would think it would sound bright being center mic'd. Imagine it off axis (more bass.) I prefer stock sound- more clear.
I just got mine. Going to take it to church tonight. Hopefully I don't blow everyone's ear drums.

My Blues Deluxe is so dark I have the treble cranked all the way.
Same here...looking for a way to make it sound brighter.
Use the bright switch.
@@dbowens1977 sadly i dont like what the bright switch brings in term of eq. Neither the presence knob...
'Bell Like'? Sounds horribly muffled to me. I presume it's the mic and recording chain.
Kind of odd that you're micing off the speaker. And with the guitar out of tune, this video did no favors to the amp, or the mic.
I don’t understand why you bought an amp that you weren’t happy with from the beginning.

a cosa servono questi video? perlomeno accordate la chitarra
All the gear and no idea!
Instead of redesigned and rebuilding this Fender Blues amp, why not just buy a better sounding blues amp from the get go?
Because it sounded better in the store!
Pop a 12AY7 in v1 and will give you better control

I put à Texas heat in mine
Tune the god damn guitar

Only to get lots of comments about it, instead of what the video was actually about. 🤪
