Am I the only one who likes Amber's version better? The singers sound younger and the kind of jealousy in the song does have this high-school vibe that their tones capture rather nicely.
Both are incredible but I honestly like the Dynamites version more, but you are right that Amber's seems to have that bit of jealous tone, which definitely matches with her actual opinion of Tracy
It’s not amber, in the music video she’s in a different spot the entire time (I think, don’t at me)
I prefer the Amber version too, softer voices, they don’t shout and the music behind is very 50s 😍
The Dynamites ate that. And their voices are perfect for the time period.

I love how with this movie, there is basically no so song that I don’t like at all.
I always find it hilarious how the ‘White’ version is meant to sound so preppy, clean and ‘sweet’. But once the Black women come in, all the soul and energy come in, makes sense because those girls wrote it first.
Man, this movie is timeless to me.
