Well judging by the comment section, you will be shamed and cause horror so extremely if you don't wash so if they're determined for whatever reason not to wash... they have to at least have people believe they are washing.
But why would someone who cares about the social look of it so publicly share this on the internet with her face attached?? How could she both be the kind of person that fakes water running to blend in with the washers and so boldly admits she doesn't wash at all.

    • @tuononnovainbici

@@VioletEmerald Right?? THIS is the part I don't get either. I am ashamed to admit that hygiene is a bit of a weak point of mine, and I have to force myself to shower more often that I'd like because of sensory issues making showers really overstimulating and tiring. Washing hands is not an issue for me, quite the opposite actually. I also keep my ears obsessively clean, I'm working on keeping my hands off my ears... but I digress
I do my best to shower regularly and I certainly don't think that "not showering" is the way. As a child I'd say I had showered when it wasn't true, as an adult I just force myself to get in the shower anyway. But she clearly has some cognitive dissonance going on if she both realises washing hands is expected but then tells on herself so openly.

Tbf I do it, also at home every time even though I live alone, because I know how important it is for other people. I don't actually care that much but I know that others do so I try to be the minimum acceptable clean person for others. If someone tells me they don't wash their hands at home I'd just shrug and move on.

During the pandemic, I started washing my hands every time I returned to my apartment after leaving. Took trash or recycling to the trash room? Washed my hands. (Then again after putting a new bag in the kitchen trash bin.) Went grocery shopping or to collect my mail or just for a walk around the block? Washed my hands. Along with--OF COURSE--washing them after using the bathroom, cleaning the cat litter, cleaning up messes on the floor or counter, and before having anything to do with food. I used to get sick all the time. In the last 4 years, I've barely been sick at all. Wash your hands, people.

The chemist washes his hands BEFORE going to the toilet, haha!" and I was just like "Wait, you mean that guys normally don't?" "We wash them afterwards" "Yeah but not before? Really? Is this common among men?" "....yes? You only need to wash off after you've done your business..?" he said, very confused. I was baffled too and said "Yeah but you guys have to touch your intimate parts to pee, and who knows how many germs you came in contact with before going to the loo? At least us girls don't touch any intimate parts directly, just toilet paper, and I wash my hands before and after. But I expected you guys to always wash them before!"

Honestly, I'm not even surprised that some people are like this. Some people just make it their life's mission to be a hindrance to society, just so people talk about them. They're so desperate for attention, that they'll proudly do things like this, and far worse, just so everyone focuses on them for a few, precious, fleeting moments, because that's all they have in their sad, pathetic existence. They don't care that they're a burden on society, as long as they're seen for being a burden.
And the worst part: We have to give them the attention they want, in order to call them out and try to correct the bad behavior, because if we just let it happen, it will always happen, and eventually it'll become the norm.

Even encouraged people to eat the food after we all saw flies lading on it. She never said "ooh, eat the food flies just pooped on". But she was so surprised pikachu face when one or more of her kids would get sick often...

If you're sick or hungover you'll make it to the bathroom, take a piss, and then use what strength you have to get back to bed. Can't stop to wash. You're already covered in sweat and vomit and blood from the night before, so who cares. But not as a regular practice. What the hell?

Just makes you wish that hand washing was something the whole world did regularly - imagine how many germs we would avoid.... My biggest pet hate is places/people's houses where there's no hand soap and the hand towel looks like it was last washed in the dark ages.... I've even been known to actually buy hand soap and leave it somewhere - you'd be amazed how often those places suddenly have soap in them all the time afterwards - as if they've been shamed into remembering.... Same thing when you move and I have lots - first thing you do is go to local shop, buy toilet paper, hand soap for every sink and bring a towel for every sink, only!!!! then do you think about kettle, cups, tea/coffee milk & sugar....

Look, I'm ecstatic to not be homeless anymore. Truly, I am. That being said, I'm very upset to have learned *after* I moved into a place that my new flatmate only washes her hands after she shits and not at any other point. Still flushes, still touches the door and lightswitch to leave, still goes about her day after she pees, but she *doesn't wash her hands*. Also, she works in food service, so I've had my paranoia renewed about eating from restaurants, which I'd been starting to work past before this. Unfortunately, I can't afford to live anywhere else, so I just sanitise everything in common spaces before I use it. I'm looking forward to the day I can live alone, or even just with someone else who has basic hygiene practices.

I wash my hands any time I enter my flat, I wash my hands after I come home grocery shopping (those shopping cart handles are disgusting), I wash my hands as soon as I get to work, I wash my hands after touching the bin (I once had a swab taken in microbiology at uni, just for the fun of it, and had just touched the lid of the trash can. The result was unfathomably gross!). I wash my hands after petting my cat (this is not a euphemism, I mean my actual cat), I wash my hand before I prepare or eat any food, I wash my hands in between food preparations.
    I shudder to think...
I handle a lot of gross stuff every day, being a vet, and I don't mind having to handle it, but am so glad for soap, water, and disinfectant.

My wife and I had this roommate and we swear she never washed her hands after using the bathroom. When she moved in with us, we put a mostly full bottle of hand soap in her bathroom. When she left, after living with us for over a year, the amount in the bottle had maybe gone down by 1/4 inch.
Like we have sanitizer in our bathroom for times when the water is out, middle of the night trips to keep from making too much noise, and sometimes I we just have to pee really quickly. But anytime we know we're making food or anything like that and EVERY time we poop, we do a full proper hand washing.
