I think you'd get a great fractal yarn with that roving and I wouldn't worry about the white patches at all!!! And your spinner is fantastic, too, btw! I would really like one myself so we'll see. Thank you for sharing. This looks like a lot of fun!
This one was a lot of fun! I think that I was only nervous because there was a request for saturated colors, so whites might have resulted in some more pastel sections. On a whole, otherwise I don't worry to much about whites in my roving. Well... sometimes I do, lol!
I use a nina soft spin dryer from laundry alternative. I don't think this exact model is made anymore, though. I do have a stand alone review up on the channel somewehre.
Oh interesting! My forest green gives a really nice deep green. czcams.com/video/Es6pYqLbhEg/video.html I love that color. I have found that some of the Dharma acid dyes behave differently on different types of wool (superwash and non)
The spin dryer is a nina soft spin dryer from Laundry alternative. I don't think they make this model anymore, but I do think they have another model I've never tried.
It really might. I'm not sure how far powdered food coloring will penetrate the fiber (it might strike fast so use less acid at first maybe.) I have some powdered food colors that I haven't played with yet. I've played with koolAid a lot, but that is diluted.
I hope so, yes! Next week the kids are off school for Pesach so that might be a really good time to get some spinning sessions in. (Since I don't have my normal workdays for dyeing/filming.)

Would this work for powdered FD&C colors too? I have some for my bath & body business and i think Blue1 would be super pretty!
