    you should not let oxidize your cofee like that( pouring it from a far distance) before kegging it smh

    Do you just charge it w/ pressure once and then put it in your kegerator with the gas line disconnected? Do you need to recharge it after dispensing some or is that 12PSI enough to get it all out? Usually ive seen the gas lines stay connected.

      @adamGMakes did you ever get this question answered

    • @AdamGMakes
      @AdamGMakes Před 5 měsíci +1

      @@deitzjoshYeah, I ended up making one myself. I charge mine up to 35-40PSI with Food Grade nitrogen, and then leave it disconnected. I occasionally have to repressurize it when the flow gets slower, but only like 2-3 times for a 5gallon corny keg.

      @AdamGMakes why don't u leave it connected with pressure on the brew like beer..and where did u get the nitrogen cylinder from.can anyone buy them Cheers

    • @AdamGMakes
      @AdamGMakes Před 2 měsíci +1

      @@Matowix you definitely can leave it connected. Only reason I didn’t is cause my other keg is filled with beer and the N2 tank wouldn’t fit in the fridge cause CO2 tank was already in there. I bought my nitrogen at AirGas, yes anyone can buy but make sure that it’s food-grade nitrogen, not for welding or anything else

    Sanitize -> immediately contaminate with tap water. Real smart.

    What is the shelf life of Cold Brew in Kegs generally?

  • @macstre4
    @macstre4 Před 2 lety

    This is similar to how Starbucks has their regular cold brew on tap. This isn’t nitro infused cold brew.

    thanks for the video! what is the mix ratio of coarse-ground coffee per gallon of water? also, after brewing, do you dilute before putting it in the keg? in other words, what is the recipe? thanks again.

  • @ronnietidwell5381
    @ronnietidwell5381 Před 2 lety +1

    Why do you have to keg it if your not infusing the Nitro? just pour out of the 5 gal bucket...

    • @altocoldbrew2441
      @altocoldbrew2441  Před 2 lety +1

      it's a good point. however, the bucket may take up more space and be difficult to pour out of. With the keg built in as a refrigerator, you can keep the beverage colder with less oxygen touching it (prolonging the life.) If you add nitro, you already have most of the steps down.

      We like a range of 1.6-2.2 depending on your preference. We released a cupping kit here that you might like : altocoldbrew.com/collections/commercial/products/cold-cupping-kit

    how often do you have to clean the lines? Beer is every 2 weeks, I imagine coffee is the same or even more often

    • @altocoldbrew2441
      @altocoldbrew2441  Před 3 lety

      you'd want to clean it everytime you switch. I'd say a natural run rate is 1 week.

    what taste you get from kegging the cold brew? boost the sweetnes or what? im new with this thing, please explain xD

    • @altocoldbrew2441
      @altocoldbrew2441  Před 3 lety

      Hey! The taste is still similar to regular brewed cold brew, except the shelf life is greatly prolonged because of the air tight environment so it keeps way longer/ is fresher longer (hence a better overall taste.)
