Cantus sings the Dave Matthews Band song "Gravedigger" live on October 16, 2010. Arranged by Cantus bass, Timothy C. Takach for Cantus. ---- linktr.ee/cantussings
Can't stress how much I look up to this group as a young singer ! You guys are amazing, and I was happy to see you guys at All State in Aberdeen in South Dakota ! When I heard you guys were performing I about lost my mind in happiness. Keep doing what your doing sirs.
Why is there no recording of this in the iTunes Store???? I have loved this since I listened to it on Prairie Home Companion a Couple of years back. I need a studio recording of this!
Matthew Tintes, you have a marvelous voice... everybody in this group is very good at what they do! Which is bring emotion, musical artistry, and amazing tonality to the music table! Thank you all!
who the heck disliked this... also like the many gifted other kids in Banff I got to watch them there. Would cut off my left arm to watch them again. Great group.~!!!!
This song is simply amazing. The lyrics are gut-wrenchingly beautiful. Tim thank you so much for such a great arrangement! Please release this to the public or record it cause this is to good to be only on youtube. Thank you Cantus!
Samantha Bryant not necessarily. I'm 6'1 and I have the 2nd highest voice in my men's choir, the only guys who's is higher is a freshman who hasn't gone through voice change yet
That was unbelievably amazing! I cringe a bit when people rearrange some of my favorite songs, but this gave me chills and made tears well up in my eyes. So awesome...
I had the opportunity to work with them. It was so amazing. Seeing them live singing this song...just...no words. I hope to have my voice mature as good as this some day.
I cried... most beautiful song I've heard in a very long time. my select choir group is singing Timothy Takach's A Winter Walk so I looked at some of his stuff and it never fails to impress. beautiful beautiful beautiful work.
I found this song on soundcloud when I was in high school and it still gives me chills. This rendition of it has to be one of my favorite songs of all time. I don’t know how to technically compliment music, but I can definitely say this song will always mean so much to me, especially in times of loss and being reminded of my own mortality.
You guys traveled a long way to sing to my school a few years ago. It was one of the most amazing musical performances I have ever been blessed to see. And by far the most unique. And DMB is one of my favorite bands, so when you performed this song, it was especially amazing. My best friend and I were on the verge of tears. Your music combined with your talent is completely sensational and stupendously moving.
This is such a great arrangement, and a great recording. I saw the University of Michigan Men’s Glee Club do this, and I wish there was a recording online, because the the effect is 100x more powerful with so many more singers.
I'm astonished, I really am, at the quality and musical genius that these guys have put it. I'm just not sure with the lyrics needing a guitar, in my opinion, does it not just end up coming across a bit like a pastiche that shouldn't have been done?
This is exactly how this song is meant to be sung. Perfection.
My choir teacher let us listen to this gem 10 yrs ago now, ive been obsessed with Cantus ever since. The day this video disappears is the days i cry.
Been listening for about 5 hours over and over again, just never gets old.
This just blows me away every time!
This song has always been one of the closest things to my heart… lyrics by Dave are incredible. This arrangement is truly beautiful
I love this song in any form. Takach killed this.
What a perfect blend of voices.... there are no words.... Just spectacular! :') (Plus they look so sharp in those suits!)
I started enjoying your music when I first heard of you when you came to my high school many years ago.
Just saw in concert tonight at memorial auditorium in Wadena, MN. Mind-blowing. Thank you Contus.
Wow, funny to see you here! ;)
I never get tired of listening to this.
Great song, has an eerie feel about it but leaves you singing after you hear it.

All I can say is chills. I am in awe

My school won a contest and cantus came yesterday and performed and will be working with our choirs for the rest of the year! So lucky!

When you look at Cantus, it's hard not to think that height relates to how deep your voice is.
Samantha Bryant not necessarily. I'm 6'1 and I have the 2nd highest voice in my men's choir, the only guys who's is higher is a freshman who hasn't gone through voice change yet

We worked with them last year, it's great!

Wow. Thx Becca for the post. Made my morning. Amazing what power lies in the human voice.
Shivers visibly*
Beautiful...is there any chance to get the score...?
I sing in one man vocal group in Croatia, we would be very happy to sing this song...
Why am I crying
Is that high note at 2:47 a tenor or an overtone? I'm blown away in either case. Love this song
Good question-- I believe that's an overtone. There's nothing that's too stratospheric at that particular moment.
Incredible. Great note. I could never figure out what happened there.
Reminds me of the play “our town”.
I didn't know Kimi Raikkonen sang in a choir.
@PrawnSkunk bro! same here...... never got so many effing chills in my life!!
where can we get this mp3?
@mtbiker2008 SO GOOD.
@jeparkable I SO AGREE WITH THIS

I'm astonished, I really am, at the quality and musical genius that these guys have put it. I'm just not sure with the lyrics needing a guitar, in my opinion, does it not just end up coming across a bit like a pastiche that shouldn't have been done?

Wow! I didn't think you could make this song suck. Nice job guys.
elvislives81677 Personal preferences, lol. I’m guessing you also hate Whitacre’s arrangement of Enjoy the Silence?
So many banffers!!
