"Dad, the neighbor is doing flashlight reviews again" haha
Have had one for about a month. Nice light. They do sell with and without the external charger (usb cable with batteries only ), but I think the charger is worth the extra money. If you have one of the older chargers from streamlight it should work as well. Got mine for $175 with the charger. I use the charger in the car as well. Love the light switch on the front to switch from low medium to high. Descent run time even on high.
@@honaypie whatâs the run time on high?

I've been using a Strion HL for the past 5 years as a LEO, it's been run over, fallen off a car, thrown, used as a hammer... and still runs like a champ. Only recently did the LED fail on it, sent it to Streamlight and aside from shipping costs, they replaced the whole head on the light and a new switch for free and it's like new again. Can't beat that. Streamlight is the best bang for the buck in the light market.
Here to echo that streamlight has excellent customer service. Called in to them about buying a rear battery door and pin for a tlr1 hl that I broke, and then lost the pin. Couldn't find both on the website, she put me on hold for a few minutes, then asked for my address. I even asked how much, no charge... So I gave streamlights for xmasđ
Idk they have issues they should address. Iâve owned 3 streamlights and my brother had 2 and the tail caps went bad on all of them and twice on my strion. They have frequent problems with tail caps to the point itâs unacceptable. Idk if they have corrected it or not on newer models but Iâll stay away from streamlight myself.
@@whatfreedom7 what would you recommend ?
I just got a Stinger DS as my duty carry and I'm already in love.
I lost my strion in a foot chase, streamlight replaced it for free. They have the best customers service and warranty.
So what did I learn from this video?
1. I want the new flashlight.
2. If Mr. or Mrs. Gunsngear offer you some fresh rosemary, politely decline.

I'm an auto mechanic and I've been using a Streamlight Stinger HL for I don't know how many years now. Great light for the money I'd be interested to check this one out and see how well it holds up
I love that toggle switch rather than pressing the button more than once. I also love that this flashlight looks like it was issued on the Starship Enterprise.
I have one and it feels like a light saber đ
â@@Vader066đđđđđ
I swear, my favorite flashlight ever... Definitely wish they would put the beam switch on all their flashlights. Don't understand why this is the only flashlight they offer this feature
@@graylonperson9012 they have the switch on their new Strion now as well.
This was the perfect review! Thanks so much. Showed how the light shines on different things, comparisons to other flashlights, and going over the features and accessories. Awesome!
Hey man, just a heads up but a lot of people don't realize this but you don't need to push the flashlight into the charger.
Push the thinner part of the flashlight into the claw and then pull the flashlight into place.
It works with all Stinger models. :)
I have a Stinger LED HL and a Stinger 2020 and it works with both.
The 2020 actually makes this a lot easier.
I had one Streamlight that lasted me more then 10 years at work, three or four battery replacements. I've bought a second and a third for my wife. I love 'em.
Have been using the LED Stinger dual switch as a mechanic (as well as others I know if) for years now & it's the best flashlight hands down.
I work on automotive and bought my 1st stream light off the tool trucks and till this day it has not let me down yet.
đ Im probably the only guy that uses the Coast HP10R and HP8R in my automotive career. I recently bought the 2020 stinger and like the weight durable housing but I wish it had the focus beam almost every Coast light features. One of them things- one has what the other does not.
Thank you for the best video reviews of this light.
Been carrying the hlx for the past 6 months after losing my last light. I don't need to upgrade, my hlx does great. But now I want to upgrade.
Had a chance to handle one and it's an excellent work light. I'll probably buy it on impulse eventually but my old beat to crap 75613 Stinger works great. However, I've moved on to more pocket friendly EDC lights. The Microstream USB rechargeable was super handy until I lost it but replaced it with a RovyVon Aurora A29 Brass (easier to spot). The Streamlight Knucklehead is probably my most useful worklight but the new Flipmate (and the Fenix WT20R) looks like another winner. I work on cars all day (collision/PDR) and a flashlight is a tool for me and not exactly a hobby. And a well made tool really makes a huge difference. The cheap little Nitecore Thumb with the tiltable head is another great tool that's used often. Well, looking at my small collection of flashlights, it's become an unintentional hobby. :P
I'm sure others have also noticed but it did go out upon impact. I'm guessing the battery carrier lost contact from inertia but still...and then there is the super strong spring steel clip on the end to snag, rip and scratch your car door, jacket and/or shirt.
Hello, have you considered doing like budget lights?
I recently purchased a Sofirn flashlight just got giggles and I was really impressed by them.
I bought one last week great light
Youâre the reason I bought the stream light HL5. Guess Iâll be getting the stinger 2020 now. Thanks.
is the HL5 that much brighter. Would you get it again or get this one?
@@MWDAdventures I want to get the stinger 2020 myself. HL5 is very bright. Good weight to it however it does not have a tail switch
wow good job on the review! would be nice if it was the faster type c charging
I just got mine a couple weeks ago from Big Daddy, great price. Only thing is having trouble finding a good holster to belt mount securely as it is a rather large light. Been carrying in my bag for now super bright light.
Longs Shado Holster
Love my 15+ year old Stinger!
Im a flatbed trucker and the law states we have to stop every so often and do an inspection⊠that usually means pulling over in the middle of nowhere where a dinky little Walmart flashlight doesnât do it. I asked a state trooper what flashlight he was using? He said this one. I ordered one and itâs coming tomorrow
I wish I didnât just see this review. Before now I had no idea how much I need this light.
Have a Stinger that is several years old, still running like new, use it often. Had a pack of coyotes getting really close and noisy to our campsite in the Big Bend Ranch State Park (really remote, nicknamed "The Other Side of Nowhere") that I believe were interested in eating our young dog. Stood on a bench and swept the draw they were in with the strobe function. We didn't hear those coyotes for the remaining three days we were there...
Mr Gng. Start shouting out that Parler page at the end. I see all the deals over there as of now so people might like to know that.
Have a protac hl. That poor light has been abused and has survived. The worst came when I was plowing our private road. I didn't realize it dropped and I ran it over with a big blade on the back of a tractor. Found it the next day. That was a few years ago and I still use it.
I may have missed it but can you use the old chargers on this? I have tons of them around the homestead.
We use them in the automotive industry as technicians. Ill say I've killed a lot of these lights. I have had to send my stinger led back 3 times in the last 2 years. However my use would be considered abuse by a lot of people it gets dropper in oil coolant regularly. Also subject to being on for lengthy periods of time. Gets dropped on a tile shop floor about 4 times a day. Get hit with some very harsh solvents frome brake cleaner. To de-carb cleaners. Its a good light im just very hard on them.
I have been using the Microstream since I wanted rechargeable. It had been great and easy to carry. Sure wish Streamlight would come out with a rechargeable WML.
The HLX is pretty amazing for its size
on the strobe being hard to activate. GOOD! I can assume this is intentional by streamlight. I have been carrying a stinger for many years on the job. I am on my second one in 12 years, and the old one still works, its just not bright like my newer one. I beat the shit out of them. They never die. Strobe coming on when you wanted solid light happens. Strobe isn't something we use often, so having it harder to activate will reduce unintentional activation. So, its a good thing, and more than likely intentional by the manufacture.
Dept issues me the Maglight MLR 150. I also have the Protac HLX. The maglight beats it out no question, but the size of the protac is much smaller so I expect that. The protac HLX brightness competes with the top tier Stinger and MLR.
I don't believe it goes green when fully charged- the solid red LED goes to one flash per second. Sound right?
the paddling 2 ducks cruising by at the "high" were trucking to get out of the light.
Nice review
How would you compare this to the Streamlight Protac HPL usb ? I can't decide which 1 to get !
Love this light. I hav 2
Are you gonna do the "DROP IT IN THE LAKE TEST", waiting to see the results 6 mo from now, sorry Mike, it just popped into my brain, thx. ROFLMAO
Mike accepts your apology
I have used a Streamlight Stinger HL for years as a mechanic. It's been submerged in every type of fluid in a shop, dropped off hoist arms, and fallen out of wherever I forgot it under a car, lol. None of this on purpose, of course. The light kept working. I used it, ( more like used it up ) every day for several years. Finally, one day, it had fallen from like 12 feet onto the concrete shop floor....it still worked, but later that day I dropped it in a pan of hot coolant, but didn't know it till I dumped the coolant at the end of the day. A few weeks after that the button got really weird. It would kind of go through the bright to dim cycle like you were holding the button down, or it would stay in strobe mode. So, I gave it to a tool truck guy that dealt them. I bought it from the previous tool truck guy with the same brand.... He said he could send it in, and they should replace whatever they felt they needed to. Well, so I was expecting like months of waiting for my light (that's how the previous tool truck guy worked), but like a couple weeks go by and his next stop he handed me an almost new light. All that was old was the tail cap......I have a lot of respect for Streamlight, at least the Stinger series. So, this Stinger 2020 is my next light. Not wrenching as a pro anymore, but still need a good light.
Just bought mine.!
Hi how is it going so I had a question do you know if a psa ar 15 upper is compatible with a Smith and Wesson ar15 lower
Great stuff
I'm assuming your neighbor don't like you much lol
Yeah right. they probly love the fact that no one will ever try to rob houses in their neighborhood
@@gregkis i think they have
I am go in for training for the military this year and when I get through I will be applying to become a night security guard also I have be look at this flashlight and the olight m2r warrior pro and I would like to know which one is better for the environment that I will in or do you have a better option
I have several olights i use along with stream light. I donât use handheld olights on duty. The only reason for this, is because they turn on way to easy. The button isnât recessed. So it doesnât matter if you have it in a holster or pocket you end up turning it on when something pushes around on it. And thatâs really easy to do when youâre wearing different gear.
Mechanics love them.
I bet
poly tac and the strion are the best bang for buck!
Iâve been carrying this light for the last month on duty and itâs a great light. My only complaint is the lack of a holster, but the bottom is flat so I put it in my back pocket when not using it. Also, the charging light on mine starts blinking when itâs fully charged, donât turn green. Great review!
I'm looking at either getting this, or the DS HL. Any luck on holsters yet?
@@DrunkNotIAm heck no LOL i keep it on the charger in the car and when I get out itâs in my hand or back pocket. Kinda got used to it and like it that way.
@@lukejohnrogers1 Ah gottcya. Thanks for the reply though! I'm sure i'll find something if I go with it, pretty sure the DS HL DOES have a holster if i'm not mistaken though. I'm still deciding between the two lol.
There is a holster specifically made for it that you can buy. Hope you picked one up by now. đ
Zero9 holsters makes a holster for it
How do you think this comparing to the Olight Seeker 2?
If you think your product is tough, just give it to a mechanic. We will find a way to break it....lol. That said, I used one of the stinger HL lights for many years without worry. After much abuse from this mechanic (unintentional of course, things happen...) Mine finally had the button go bad. It would come on in strobe and not shut off, or it would run through the dim to bright cycle like you were holding the button. I'm talking years of hard use, every day. It fell of the hoist a lot. It fell in coolant or oil, or whatever a lot. Bought it on a tool truck, that guy retired, and the next same brand tool guy sent it in for me. All That was still old was the tail cap. So, another streamlight is in my future.
BYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY FAR THE BEST FLASHLIGHT I'VE HAD!!!!...
I also own the Streamlight Stinger 75882. Also, something you should do a review for. This is the end all be all flashlight, you can see forever and a day with that thing. But, I use the Streamlight Stinger 2020 the most because I love the actual High/Med/Low switches.. I wish they would make all their lights that way. That's the only con. Besides that, this is the most perfect light ever.
How does this compare to the hl5x performance wise?
I just put together a new 5.56 build from outdoorsportsusa and I need a new light. I wanna see this dangnabit!!!
This light is not meant for rifles. Itâs handheld. I recommend if you do get the stream-light weapon mounted light and go with the HLX, that you buy the arisaka to stream-light tail cap adapter as it eliminates the flickering caused by axial movement as the HLX does not have have two springs.
Darn now I want a new light
What would be the equivalent to olight?
How do I know if my Stinger 2022 is fully charged? I have it in the charger right now and the red light is blinking. Will the light turn solid red or green, etc. when fully charged?
I want a smaller version of this for EDC.
Smaller options in their product line that are comparable would be the ProTac HL-X then if you want smaller the 2-LX. If you wanted a dropin rechargeable the Strion HL is an option but not as powerful.
@@wb5mgr I happen to have the Hl-X. Very meh. I stand by what I said a year ago. A scaled down Stinger 2020 with a pocket clip, and brightness settings from 50, 350, and 1,000 lumens would be ideal for me.
Is the charger the same as the strion hl ds?
treamlight ProTac HL 5-X review was good and now you have reviewed this one both take 2 18650 so why is one so much bright with lumens . 3500 vs 2000?
What is the candela for this one?
i want to see you get and use an energetic vox suppressor its made of Welded Core- Heat Treated C300 Nickel-Cobalt Maraging Alloy US origin, DFAR certified and the claim to fame of this is that at 1000 degrees F it is stronger that room temp 8180 stainless steel
What's the price separately on the charger and battery for the p/n 75375

Iâve had a plethora of stream lights and stingers and Iâve never had a charger change from red to green. Has that changed?
It doesnât. It does from solid red to blinking red when fully charged.
@@adamwoods7606 must be a new style then.... mine have always just been solid red...
Streamlights are superior to olight in everyway imaginable
Any usb c batteries that would work with this?
Go with the Streamlight HL-5X instead. You get 1500 more lumens and about 30K more Candela. It also has great dimensions unlike the stinger. And you save yourself about $50. Also, for like $10 you can get the Pro Tac HL 4 tail cap switch and it works on the HL-5X.
It's too big 4 tactical
@@911S you're right but if you look at the new stinger it's clearly not meant to be used as a tactical flashlight either
Nice light but for that price you can get basic body armor at caliber armor 0.o
Already sent mine in for not working after barely dropping it at work. I work on trucks. So I went back to my old stinger while waiting for the new one to get fixed. Hopefully they refund me instead of replace. The new gen is terrible stick with the old stinger I have 3 and a great. Even when dropped in coolant buckets

YEET
Streamlight and Olight....competition begins.
I wouldnt say streamlight is for âbeginnersâ olight, definitely, but streamlight, not really, just a great semi-affordable product.
Lumens vs candella? Whats the dif?
Lumens is total light output, candella is light intensity. So with a given amount of lumens, you can have a low candella flood beam, or a high candella super tight spot beam. But both the same total light. Pretty much Lumens= candella x area
Replaceable batteries in a grab-and-go rechargeable flashlight!?! Take my money!
Mine was flashing red; apparently that means itâs reached full charge.
Do you happen to cook with rosemary? :-)
My advice would be stay away from proprietary charging systems and different sized batteries as they limit adaptability. Thrunite make flashlights as good as this for literally half the price which means you can have two. Excellent review as always from the Premier kit and weapons review channel.
Itâs time to get a new stringer lol
How does this fair against the ultra stinger? Thatâs got a much wider head than this, but less lumens and candela.
How you gonna ask a question then answer it in the same comment?
SeagullG go away, troll. I asked how it fairs against a specific stinger, hence why I described it. You stupid bitch.
@@Engineeringpreparedness86 don't get mad at me because your comment was dumb

the rear button should be momentary only. tactical lights donât have clickies for good reason. otherwise, nice light.
It's meant to stay on, it would be annoying to have to hold down a button when your searching in the dark. It's not for target acquisition.
