    You asked for it, and we deliver! We will take you on an apartment AND house tour this time!
    We will show you 2 different apartments and 2 houses. The houses are located in El Poblado, and the apartments in Sabaneta.
    We had a lot of requests from you guys to see some houses.
    Please be aware, that houses in Colombia are not like houses in other countries like the US for instance. Even if you live in a house you'll still share the walls with your neighbors.
    On top of that, there are not nearly as many houses as apartments. It is a lot easier to get a nice apartment in a good and safe neighborhood, keep that in mind when thinking about getting a house in Medellin.

      You should def make a video of how 'work from home' employees could come to live in Colombia for a period of time. Will their companies allow it? maybe ask your friend of the tax implications if their companies(employers) could allow them to work from home in Colombia and if the employees or employers need to pay taxes on that. This could motivate many people to come to Colombia during COVID work from home stays

    The prices of properties shown in this video are gringo prices at around US$120/sf. I know people bought properties in the El Poblado region of Medellin last year at less than US$70/sf.
    Considering that the USD is much stronger against the Colombian peso compared to last year, there's no way properties in Colombia would be more expensive now.
    Please don't try to rip off innocent foreigners of their hard earned money

    Sam, great video and thanks for sharing that info. I have been looking at online properties in Medellin for the last year and i am quite surprised at how expensive they are. Every thing is relative of course, if you live in California where housing is extremely expensive then Medellin is cheap but i live in the atlanta area and when i compare prices and what the city offers, the math doesn’t add up.

    Hi, thank you for showing us the properties. I visited Medellin last November and fell in love with it. You can get a lot for your money comparing to our crazy prices here in California. I am trying to work a plan to sell my properties in LA and move there and I am thinking to buy different condos for rent as investments to rent there. The condo that you showed for 140sq m., and was about $150k, how much is the average to rent that condo if I bought it to rent it out?

  • @sbring00able
    @sbring00able Před 3 lety +5

    Great video Sam. A few people are calling gringo prices (I have no idea, and if so maybe that's just the way it is for foreigners), but regardless 65k for that apartment seems quite good to me.

    Hi guys, there is another option for expats that can be also very attractive, it is what we call condominios campestres, some sold with a house on top, some sell the piece of land, usually from 700 to 2500 sqr meters and you can build your home on top, I have found that the plot around the eje cafetero can go from 40 to 60K USD and on top you can build your home with a reputable builder from 500 to as much as you want to spend per sqr meter, depending on the size of your home you may have a great home for less than 150K, of course, depending on what is a great home for you. Maybe you guys can show some properties of that option as well, for what is worth, I think you two guys could buy your little plot and make a tiny house there on the cheap and have a fantastic life.

    • @Fritzchen
      @Fritzchen Před 3 lety

      But are they outside the cities? Then you also approve of a car. For 40 thousand US dollars you can get a small finca in Cali. But do you build a house a foreigner in Colombia? this can be problematic if you cannot find the right engineer.

    • @damianduran6480
      @damianduran6480 Před 3 lety

      @@Fritzchen yes, outside the city, but still suburban area, I just finished buying in the outskirts of Pereira, and yes, a car would be a must :/ I agree with the Fincas but what I would call a Finca is usually a bit further from the city, for example my plot used to be a farm, now is surrounded by small plots where people are building family homes, there are restaurants and groceries just a mile away. Regarding home construction I am planning to hire a company that makes prefabricated homes, I’m researching reputable ones with several years and projects of experience, it can be intimidating, I agree, but if it goes well I think I can get a great place for relatively little.

    You need to find a different realtor. A 10 minute search online points to many properties that blow these away at huge savings. The same is true for your online real estate gimmick. It is over priced as well.
