Hi Derrick is that toughened glass that you're cutting for a splashback? Suppliers keep making out its impossible to cut in your own, I was going to use a continuous rim tile cutting blade and diamond hole saws to cut it like you have.
@@hitmanzaman556 The safety backing is not the same as tempering. You can cut glass/mirror/etc even if it has safety backing on it. Tempered glass is super heated and cooled very quickly to toughen the outside, which creates immense pressure inside the glass.
If you’ve been cutting 2 1/4” holes (old school way I guess) then it’s hard but look how much he’s moving the drill around. Gotta keep it moving around and around on an angle. Do not use water, coolant is best. (Keeps it cool obviously)
Forgot to show the surface the mirror is sitting on. Is it cardboard, does it need to be perfectly flat and perfectly supported? Could it be done on a carpet?
@@samueljr.villara4255 Yes, if you soak the whole motor with water. Why would you ever do such a thing? But he does not spray the motor, does he!? He sprays the drill bit and glass.
Excellent video!! Thank you sir!!
Outstanding work!

Why not just use the diamond disk to cut the 4 sides and done?
I tried that and the glass cracked in half. I guess the holes act as a stop.
Can you describe the tools you are using? Thanks! You make this look so easy!

Is for kitchen wall, cut out for power sockets, only can cut before tempered
@@derrickleemr when you say tempered do you mean the protective backing film they put on the back of the glass?
Tempered is toughened and it can not be cut after the toughening process

How do you keep the mirrored material on the back from chipping out when you drill?
Little chipping will cover by power point cover, must use good quality mirror to prevent chipping more
