I'm 23 now and starting the process to get my cdl. God willing I'll have it by my 24th birthday in September. My dad was also a trucker but sadly he passed away when I was 5. Your channel is inspiring. I plan to use some of the knowledge you give to navigate my career from driver to owner operator as well. Thanks for sharing brother.
Yessir. Let them know what we go thru too, in order to rack in it. They see the bread, but don’t necessarily understand what it takes on a daily. The early mornings, 10-11hrs of staring at the road, holding it in to make time, cramps at the wheel, attitudes at shipping & consignee docks, lying brokers, extreme weather fluctuations, 4-wheelers, government restrictions/regulations, lack of sleep, constantly beating a clock, not much in person social interaction, and long nights. I could keep going, but I won’t bc I’m strong enough for this. Bring it on 🔥📈
Man...Ken your given a great deal of personal financial info. Greatly appreciated. I'm 47 and I'm not where you are. I only have one working intermodal out of the ports. Your never to old to lean new information. Keep doing your thing my brother! Love to see black people pursing excellance.
I've been driving 24yrs. And the breakdown you gave is dead on my guy congratulations on the success so far love to see the grind put in black and white so people can see real numbers. Im 22 and about to attain my license and I’m hungry for success in the trucking game and you give great content and information man. Thank you and keep up the awesome videos you’ll blow up in the trucking and CZcams gaming Bc you do this with passion and purpose.
great info and inspiration I been driving for 4 months now. And ready to take the leap of faith and buying my own truck I have about 40,000 cash and about a 710 credit score. Just gotta stop and take some time off to search for a truck, and don't want to get stuck with something that will cost me money b4 I start making money..
Buy your truck out right all you have to do is save for a little bit longer. Do not finance that thing. Unnecessary stress if you finance a truck, we saved all of our money and paid cash for a truck and trailer. If you finance a truck you will save thousands of dollars in interest. All it takes is one major repair to get you in trouble. We have a dedicated run. When we bill those guys they sometimes don’t pay for 60-90 days at a time. You have to float your own business sometimes. So many small owner operators go under because they have big truck payments. And like I said. One major breakdown and $3000 truck payments, IFTA, workman’s comp, truck insurance, registration, new tires, quarterly tax payments, maintenance, new engines, high fuel cost etc happens and the last thing you need to be worrying about is a high truck note. That’s just my advice to you 🤷🏼♀️💕
@@truckingwithtobee so you say save up a bit more? Ok let me ask you this how much you think I should spend on my first used truck to get a decent one?
@@kenericcrawford409 Our first truck was a 2012 Peterbilt and gravel trailer for $80,000. The truck had 285k miles. It took 1.5 years to make the money back. Five years later we have put in a new engine. That cost $25k it runs like new. Our second truck is a 2013 Kenworth for $25k and a flat bed trailer for $10k. We do most maintenance on both trucks. If you look and be patient there’s good trucks out there for reasonable prices. It took us 13 years working regular jobs to save the initial 80k but it was the best feeling ever to pay cash. Would I do it again like that? Yes.

Thanks for the transparency, I was thinking about this for a long time because I was in the military and I have a 4 yr experience driving tractors and trailers up to 50 ft. But trucking business is not consistent amd there’s a lot of headache like what if your truck breaks and had to be on maintenance for a few days. The cost to repair and Ill assume you’re pretty much on the road 6 days a week grinding and going out of state. 60k in 100 days before tax will net you somewhere from 40-50k. But it’s hard to enjoy something like that. Hopefully your company grow bigger so you dont have to drive anymore.

This is Awesome! Thank you for the info!
Keep it going, great job. Taxes/Health insurance etc eat into the profit but even then thats dam good numbers.
Very good video great results keep it up man you're killing it
