Van/nomad life teaches self-reliance.
Re mental health: Just over three years ago I was in a senior position that was VERY high stress and a LOT of pressure. I was lucky if I got 2-3 hours sleep a night and had headaches 24/7. One Wednesday about 4 in the afternoon, I was in my office working and I suddenly burst in to tears. I grabbed my things and went home. Next day I saw my doctor. I had had a mental breakdown. Fortunately she was very supportive and, with her help, I was able to arrange a sickness benefit. I have never worked since. At that time I already had my caravan, so I drove about 10 minutes out of town and parked up. Within a week I was sleeping 7-8 hours a night, and no headaches. This is how this lifestyle has helped my mental and general wellbeing. In some ways I was fortunate that I was only two years away from being able to go onto a government funded pension, which I am able to stay on for the rest of my life. I now just travel around, doing what I want, when I want, and don't have to answer to anyone.
My doctor is of the opinion that this lifestyle has probably saved my life.

ISTJ here. Thanks for the app recommendations. Love your videos. One thing you do that I don’t see other you tubers do is bloopers. You’re a real person with imperfections like the rest of us. So thank you for sharing that at the end. And lastly check out Arkansas in the Fall. The colors of the leaves as they change are incredible. Safe travels!
If you follow Anna Uncharted and Mariah Alice, both do "bloops" at the end of their videos. I sort of found all three at the same time, so I'm not sure who was "first". Gone with the Wynns (RV at start, now sailing) also usually add some bloopers at the end of most videos.
Kara and Nate also did bloopers especially on their world travels and van life. Plus they visited 100 countries!

I found your channel zapping between no related to van life or camping stuff. But after watching some videos on your channel, I remembered my dream. That dream was about living inside of minimalism with peace in the world. But after graduating from uni capitalism cuff me and I became a slave working at least 45 hours each week and trying out new dreams in my mind which were forced by the system. Thank you for the book choice of "If you meet the Buddha...", it looks like a fantastic read I'll enjoy. Arizona is indeed a great state and the more you visit it, the more enchanted it becomes, having all four seasons and so much BLM and such great sunrises and sunsets, as well as the fact that something is always in bloom. It's van friendly from Quartzite and beyond and there is magic in vast hiking opportunities in the Superstition Mountains. There's also fabulous Flagstaff and also Tucson, with vegan restaurants and all the mineral and gems could ever wish and imagine. Thanks for your videos, they are always a delight.

First, thanks for answering our questions Maddie. Sometimes they can be a bit intrusive but you handled it well. I really don’t know what I would do (other than family) if I didn’t have the natural world to explore and love that aspect of your video’s. Although you can be spontaneous at times your personality and voice have a soothing effect. I think that is one reason your channel is successful. I think it would be really cool the run across Maddie Taylor on the road. I could use some “enlightening”-lol! Again, thanks for answering our questions and please be safe but enjoy your life!

You appear to be a free spirited, easy-going, deep thinker who has just gained a new sub. I grew up in Colorado so the scenes of the south west always make me think of the southern part of the state

I am also an INFJ, living in Phoenix AZ. I enjoy your videos although I'm much older than yourself. I love Arizona, there are so many different terrains and gorgeous mountains. I love the desert, the wonderful cacti. Very rugged and when it rains it's so beautiful. Too bad it doesn't rain more often. Bless you in your travels.

Hey there Maddie! Is the necklace you are wearing one of the crystals you found on your recent digs? I plan to do some digging when I come to AZ later this year or early 2023. I find wonderful "rocks" on my land in Central Virginia. Though beautiful and diverse they are mostly Milky White quartz and some Sharing space with awesome clears. I use the large heavy pieces as bookends and the smaller as display pieces on my bookshelves. Also handy to weigh down table cloths outside! LOL - Love your videos. Kat

I have always been an INFJ ( will have to take it again) now showing I’m an ISFJ and 4…how can that change! I’ll be checking this out! if you come up to canada during the winter I recommend getting snow tires, traction can be very important especially if you want to hit nature trails int he winter, I also recommend snowshoes!
One day I could see you living off-grid in a log cabin, but doing work you love the most. Maybe consider teaching? Also, one day traveling with a buddy, but not driving because of hideous gas prices - cuz running a van costs a fortune! ...as always, Molly and I 💖 your content, your personality and Eliza! I agree that Eliza is Vizsla Pitt bull, and possibly lab mix. We had a male dog that lived to be 17 that was Vizsla/Pitt Bull mix. he was a bit taller than Eliza but she looks just like him. Thank you for the book and app recommendations. I always look forward to your videos.

I think the clarity of your camera mic is fantastic. Compared to a lot of others I watch yours is very good... some have huge mic set ups and honestly yours is better than most. I think you could safely plan on visiting Canada even on your own. A trip up the west coast into BC and a tour there including (not to be missed) Vancouver Island would be an excellent trip for you. Drive over to Alberta to the Banff and Jasper areas and I know you will love that. Best time for that would be May through September. The prairie provinces are just flat flat flat. If you made it to Ontario it is beautiful and of course on to the east coast but you would want to avoid the east coast after October, just due to early snows and cold weather although you could luck out and have excellent temperatures right into November. I have hitch hiked coast to coast several times but that was a very long and safer time ago. I would not hesitate to do this in a van.

That's not luck, that's the God-spirit within you that helps those of us who have found you. Dream on . . . PS: If you haven't read Gahlil Gibran's "The Prophet" then I highly recommend it to you. Imagine the wisdom of the entire bible in one short poetic volume. I've given this book to many friends over the year and always love re-reading it.
