      over 25,000 is what it cost not worth it when u can built a engine cheaper and a lot faster . then u have me i have 2300 in a 68 pu all that is left is final paint and interior running a stroked 454 with tunnel ram steel crank heavy rods heavy duty 400 turbo and still have the fresh rebuilt 327 and the stock trans 400 turbo that came with the truck and the 2300 is counting the cost of the truck but i have a secret on getting low mile crate engines for cheap or free the 68 454 has only 6000 miles on it and stock the engine had 450 hp at 485 torque so far i got 2 for free with the heavy duty 400 turbo but i get a lot of engines free like right now i am trading a low mile 350 4 bolt for a worn out 2018 l.s.7 427 got the 350 for free and the l.s.7 is a way better engine then any coyote engine stock it has 860 hp . u will find that most shops will put in a used engine in there build hop it up a little make it look fresh this way they can make money on the build so far i have saved over 15,000 on my build and it is just as good if not better because i know for a fact that it is a good engine no break in problems after 6000 miles u know it is good . i get these engine from a place know body ever thinks of and i get only bb chevy , fords and mopars all performance crate engines so far they all been free to me

    Money just went and went and there was still more to buy. Here's the crux:
    Back then, there was no high end muscle car market. An old pos Mustang coupe could be found for well less than a thousand. A fastback for about 40%+ or more. You could easily dump a couple grand into it and you would not be likely to sell it for anywhere near what you had in it.
    By the time the late 90s rolled around, the market started to change. You know what these things are worth now, especially the Machs and GTs....

      that is the best 4v na before the 2011 coyote. it's a strong runner. full bolt on ported short runner intake manifold and a swap to 96-98 cobra intake cams is a fairly cheap build and can get you to 350+ whp on 93 pump gas. don't gear the gear go at least 4.10 in the back I'd recommend 430-456 if staying na

    • @michaelharris748
      @michaelharris748 Před 5 lety

      what you just said would cost 1000s of dollars and wouldn't be all that much cheaper all things considered....it's not just about the horsepower...it's the fact it has over 400 hp stock and can average 20 mpg or better prob even more in a lighter fox body. you aren't going to get that good in a 400+ hp pushrod stroker or blown pushrod and the driveability also won't be nearly as good. plus that 400+ on the coyote is just the start you can get to 450+ whp without even touching the heads cams or short block and it has potential to make 600+ easily if you supercharge it down the road. it's just hands down the better engine and I love pushrods and all mustangs but facts are facts if you build your pushrod to make a reliable 450 whp (which is getting near block splitting territory btw) you're going to have about as much in it and if you build the short block to go beyond that number like the coyote can you're def gonna have more in it. and you're still going to have to upgrade the suspension rear end trans etc just like with a coyote swap. I see low mile engines and trans with the harnesses ready to be swapped for like 5-6 grand on ebay all the time. there's just a few more things to do beyond that it could easily be done for sub 10k if you're only talking about the engine and trans and getting it in the car and running.

  • @pdmustgtd1013
    @pdmustgtd1013 Před 6 lety

    How much depends on what you get. Brand new crate engine, used mustang GT engine, used F150 engine or core engine (F150 or Mustang GT). Fuel system and going crazy with 1200 dollar system dual pumps and never ever going to supercharge it. I'm in middle of helping my brother do coyote swap on 01 cobra. Have many say stock cluster won't work at all. Looking at diagrams and knowing Control pak does broadcast engine info over datalink and cluster works off datalink WOW 2 wires to wire in. If datalink protocol different between both of them then he will try this www.carid.com/2004-ford-mustang-custom-gauges/intellitronix-led-digital-replacement-gauge-panel-613116928.html. I have done glider kits where you drop in older diesel into brand new chassis Both have different datalink protocols and they make control box that goes between them to make them talk to each other. It don't always work the best sometimes they do something goofy. Yes I'm a tech

A very foolish waste of effort unless you for sure plan to keep it for 10yrs or more. Most gearheads do not have the commitment or attention span to manage more than 2yrs.
