- Nick came to the Regal Gentleman Studio to get a short haircut for summer. After having the same haircut for a while, it was time for a change and to go shorter for summer. Dan gave Nick a short textured haircut that could be styled and worn in a few different ways.

Dan manages to make an awesome hairstyle out of an otherwise shorter/generic idea. Dan never misses it's incredible!

I think he did miss, the forehead looks too receding/big with new haircut, need to be really careful with people forehead area. Nothing worse than going barbers and having your hair styled in way to hide receding/ large forehead and barber becomes trigger happy with scissors. Should ask clients before snipping those hairs in that fringe area. Lot of the time the issue arises when barbers cut on wet hair, cos when it dries it usually goes even shorter.

It's also easy to do as a self-haircut! I've been rocking this with a proper fade since the pandemic started and have gotten numerous compliments
The way you can see the texture in the end is unreal, it’s the mastery with the scissors that gets that result
Dan i am searching for an hairstyle for my exact face shape...could you do a video about haircuts for each face shapes? I have an oval one and had not guts to do a fade haircut so I had only long hairs till now. I love your videos! Greetings from Germany
Oval is the best head shape because it is versatile with many styles so a fade should look good
I've got an oblong but if I'm fatter it gets more rounder. I'm still not 100 sure lol

As someone that's had long and short hair life is definitely so much easier with it cut short. You can jump straight out the shower and leave the house looking decent without doing anything at all to it. If you do that with long hair you spend the day looking like a total mess. Having it long is just too much hassle even if it makes someone look more stylish and intriguing. The high maintenance to it having to blow dry it every morning and run product through it gets exhausting very quickly especially in hot months.
Long hair doesn’t always have to be tough. But yeah we definitely get you! Once you’ve gone this short, and low maintenance is your thing, it’s very hard to go much longer!

Also, I can say that every barber makes mistakes, even the best ones, cause if you look at the after haircut check, you can see uneven C cups, i mean it mostly happens when its naturally uneven and then you just forget to double check it, i dont want to be mean tho! :)

i have been barbering for 39 years you do it properly . what scissors do you use ?
What's astonishing is that so many young chaps get what is a called a Hitler Youth haircut, faded up back, sides, and long on top. Most chaps I see have that same type of haircut. Some even like the top to flop across their foreheads. But there is always that hard fade on sides/back.

I find it a little confusing that you say a 1.5 and then proceed to taper down to a 0.5, which looks to be the same thing you do when you call it is 0.5? I thought the number would refer to the shortest you go at the bottom, am I missing something?
