He just looks better with longer hair. Gives him a greater sense of style. A pompadour would suit him better. Young people don't wear the fades anymore. He's likable no matter what his haircut is but fades are sort of banal for men in their 40's. They're the Toyota Corolla of personal style.

yeah i’m the same . my hair is similar length to his and mines rlly flat and straight , but im getting it permed so it’s waves and has more volume and style to it (not rlly curly more like chase stokes style) so it can look messier and good at the same time
But Dan was always having the hairband on, so that would take any bad hairday away would it not?
I'm growing out my hair, and that comment of his is almost accurate, in my case, I have mostly 7 bad hair days and few short moments where I think the hair is "ok" in those days 😅

Buzzing your hair after having it long is one of the most liberating things ever. Had long hair for around 7 years and after a month's build up of wanting to buzz it I finally bit the bullet and never looked back.
Totally agree, the feeling, after I’d actually bitten the bullet and buzzed my long hair off, was amazing.

Dan dan dan I am going to be doing the same thing, but I have been growing this mop for 4-5 months. Forgot to tell you I'm a lady of 71 years and I have always had long hair. What a wounderful and liberating feeling it was to razor it off. Alittle bit of shampoo NO blow drying and a little bit of product and thats it!! A GREAT FEELING 😊❤

Dan is so good-looking it will look great no matter how he wears it. He has gone from a Regal Gentleman to a happy go lucky construction worker. But he can put a refined look to it by expertly cutting his beard slighty shorter and creating an authentic Genteel appearance with a precision trim and shaping of his beard. Dan, You radiate charisma and that fantastic smile will take you out of any situation as a winner.

Dan, you look very nice with the shorter cut and I'm sure you are going to love the lower maintenance. Carlo did a great job and he let everyone know what he was doing and why, like you always do. It's nice that you have someone like Carlo you can trust. Most hairdressers seem to have a hard time trusting someone else to cut their hair, especially the good stylists.

This was one of the best transformations yet, and it was yours. First of all, Carlo is remarkable. He has great finesse and skill, clearly knowledgable or you wouldn't have sat in his chair. Let's not avoid the reality that you are a great looking man, that's for starts and, your hair looked great long. It was sort of romantic and handsome though understandable that it took a lot of time and you aren't a movie star (though you have the looks) who sits for hours while stylists fuss over their "do" of the day/scene/red carpet/editorial shoot. I've watched hundreds of your videos and always wondered what you would be like "in the chair" and who you would trust. The new look is fresh, handsome, remarkably flattering and very manly if I may be allowed that word. I would like to see some of those early more adventurous looks you referenced, particularly the blonde and the extreme mullet. For now, good decision and hope you, your family and Carlo have a great Christmas and a Peaceful New Year! Thanks for always sharing your wealth of knowledge.

End of an era! I, like many of your clients and viewers, am growing my hair out right now and can relate to the feelings you're going through with your hair. For me it's kind of very bipolar where I have weeks that I absolutely love my hair and weeks where I want to buzz it all off or just go really short. Usually I tell myself that if that bad feeling persists for more than two weeks I'll just do it and so far that has worked well for me.
Either way, you look great with short hair too and if you feel better about your hair now then that's the only thing that counts!

Gotta be honest I was expecting Dan to grow it out much longer, but his reasoning makes so much sense. I have the same straight hair issue and recently buzzed mine off and it’s been the greatest decision.

The buzzcut looks badass! I went through the exact journey - 1 yr long hair with 1 good hair day and 6 bad ones, and finally gave up with a buzzcut. Would love to see how he styles his long hair in 10 minutes though! Hoping to try it again one day.
I'm sure i'm not the only one who feels this way, but i'm so jealous of your hair. Your have amazing hair density, your scalp is not visible at all, yet your hair is able to fall down nicely when it's long. Honestly i know you wish you had some sort of wave in it, but your hair is amazing. Also the color is really nice. The gray looks so classy and nice and pretty cool aswel. I've always wanted to dye my hair platinum, and the color i had in my mind looks exactly the same as your hair. Honestly mate, just know so many people are so jealous of your hair.
