🎸ABOUT THIS LESSON
One of my favorite classical pieces is the Bourree in E minor by Johann Sebastian Bach from the Suite in E Minor BWV 966.
This Bourree is one of the most recognized guitar classical pieces. Almost any guitar player I know learned this beautiful peace at some point in their lives. It's a lovely piece transcribed for classical guitar, but it has also been played on the acoustic and electric guitar.
One of the things that I love so much about this piece is its simple melody made great by the incredible composing skills of Bach. It is written with two parts: The bass line and the melody.
In this video, we are going to analyze this fantastic composition melodically and harmonically.
There isn't any chord played in the composition, so we will have to analyze the melody and bass line to find the right chords.
I counted over thirty chords, so be ready.
The tab will be available on my Patreon page.

🎸FAQs:
Are you a full-time CZcamsr?
Yes, I am on CZcams as Marco Cirillo, and I promote my videos on my website BlitzGuitar.com. All the courses I post online are available on my Patreon page bit.ly/2rMAPYG
How long have you been playing guitar?
I started playing guitar when I was 10 years old, so it has been more than 20 years. I have always loved fingerpicking guitar, so this is why all my tutorials focus on this topic.
Why are you on Patreon?
Patreon is great! It allows creators to make money doing what they love. On Patreon, I can share my guitar lessons with my Patrons and get paid for it. As a creator, I feel like Patreon really made a massive difference in the way I share my content :)
Do you do concerts?
I used to do a lot of gigs in the past. London is a great place to play music almost every day. When my CZcams channel started to grow, I decided to go all-in and try to help as many people as possible learning guitar. This goal takes all the time I have available, so I am not doing any gig or concert atm.

Can't you see he's the man
Let me hear you applaud
He is more than a man
He's a shiny golden god
If you think it's time to fucking rock, and fucking roll out of control

When close my eyes, the music sings to my heart that which I feel and see in my mind’s eye -it captures how I feel about the global calamity, the piece starts a little dark and heavy but becomes brighter and energetic...hopeful. All my best to you and your beautiful country and people!
Tnx Patrick 🎸
What I see in my minds eye with this piece is an adventure through a dark and eiree forest and alas you come to cavern. Curious, you treck into the the large slit in the stone cliff's precipice,
suppressing the dread the ominous cave gives you in your gut.
Glad that you’re fine @marco Cirillo
Stay safe 🙏
I love this tempo, it moves naturally but not to slow....great tutorial. This is how you learn any piece
I love that your emphasizing the chords and chord shapes. I've watched many many tutorials on this piece (because I forgot some sections)
and this is the best I've experienced. Thank you
Thanks Marco. Have been practising Bourree for a while now but your lesson was invaluable. You. Paul Simon and James Taylor are the reason I love the acoustic guitar.
this is the best lesson because it is easier to memorize it with showing the chords, it helps you understand the movements better
Beautiful Marco! Thank you for your beautiful, musical guitar lessons. Good to see you in good health !!
quando inizia a studiare classica, pensavo che non sarei mai riuscito a suonare questo brano.dopo qualche mese lo suonavo anche senza pause,al doppio della velocità.il pezzo è tra i più facili di Bach.
One of the first pieces I learned during my year studying classical guitar 14 years ago
Lovely that you shine the light on this fine piece. I´ve been trying to learn this for years. It is difficult to master, especially the second part. You get a fantastic fine tone out of your steel string. Thanks for the inspiration, Marco!
Tnx Levin! 🎸
Very good lesson Marco and such a lovely sound from your guitar. I'm glad you are playing this at a slower tempo as a lot of versions seem too fast and hence rushed. Your tempo really brings out the melody and beauty of this piece. I used to be able to play this piece when I was young but now all I remember is the beginning. You have refreshed my memory so I will persevere. Thanks.
What a fantastic video. Brilliant analysis. Thanks so much 👏👏👏
So classical. Soothing melody.
Wow,
This is a great piece on guitar, by the way and without any surprise, you make it sound awesome.
Still have Italy in mind every time I grab the guitar. My hopes
Tnx man. We will get out of this horrible situation 🎸
Wow what a great lesson.!
One of my favourite classical piece too. Cool vid Marco !
Love this piece
Started learning this piece the other day but gave up after the first few bars
And the way you're playing it flawlessly🙌🙌
I Am Singer From India ♥️ Always Watch Your Video . Love From India . ♥️
( Woow First Comment )
Bach's pieces modulate like crazy if they don't have an ostinato (but even those that have an ostinato can modulate). The chromatic fantasy and fugue should be a very good example of that
Your chord compositions are beautiful
Why can't I memorize this beast?! UGH!!
Buongiorno senior; happy to see you working again...
Awesome !!
Wow thats so great i'd learn it right now
Grande, bel video
Appreciate your inquisitiveness in this beautiful 2-Part harmony based short piece Bourée*.. Good job dude 👌👏 Enjoy and keep sharing like this dude..👍 Warm cheers 😊 God bless 🙏🎸🎶😊
🙏🎶😊🎸
Keep the good work bro
Genial 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Playing it on my new little Cordoba ....sounds real good 💪❤
Excellent- Peace from Colorado.
uno dei pezzi che più amo suonare!! che meraviglia
Non sei l’unica 😊🎸
Beautiful to say the least
This is the most recent assignment in a classical guitar course I'm taking -- so beautiful and a little tricky, but just as you advise, I'm taking it slowly, step-by-step, and I'm nearly there (we're using a shorter form, just the first section). Thanks, Marco!
This version, like most guitar versions, omits this cool trill at the end of the phrase in both parts. If you want to impress your instructor, add in the trill.
Hi Marco, really wanna thank you for all the good stuff you post here on you tube for free! I wanted to comment on your life update, but comments were disabled there. I have this idea with keeps popping in my head this week, and like to share it with you. I have to think a lot about the people in treatment with long problems, in cold and clinical environments, and how music could lift their spirit. We life in times of change and people are revaluing things now. We might learn that music is of far greater importance then we thought. The vision I have is that there is music played to the sick people in Italy, maybe not in a live setting, but from audio devices. I have this two accords I play: d-string 7th position, g-string 6th position and then picking a,d,g,b,e,b,g,d twice, then adding to the first accord a-string 5th position while picking a,d,g,b (let it fade away a bit) and then again a,d,g,b. To me it sounds like gentle waves hitting the shore, in a quiet ritme like breathing. Open chords, opening lungs, opening people and opening situations. I hope you can built something from this. Please try these two accords, and see (feel) if what I say resonates with you. I am not as skilled as you are, maybe you can built something nice from it. But I feel the two accords are important. Just play with the idea for a while, don’t worry about the further steps, If you can make something from this (create it from your heart) and simply post it, other people will get ot to the sick people! Much love to the Italian people from The Netherlands, Jan
Very, Very good.
thanks for your videos
l see you from colombia🖒🖒
Coollllll !!!
Hello Marco, I love your playing : I learn a lot. Do you also have a tutorial for BLACKBIRD please ? Thanks for a reaction and may God bless you ! Corneille from Belgium
This is the piece that influenced Paul McCartney's guitar playing on Blackbird
Thanks
I take the guitar and as an initial approach I came up with an Alan Parson-like aria. I'm an Italian beginner
This is awesome man. Is there anyway you could do a video like this for Bach's Cello suite no 1 ?
11:57 Anime outro
I Marco , i thought to master this wonderful piece could be a project for these days of confinement. But my level of playing is far too low for that.
I think it wouldbe great if you could find another more simple classical piece for beginners at home.
Many thanks for your engagement. Take care of yourself and your family, and please keep on posting.
Hi castor. If you really like it, just start with the melody. It’s worth give it a try :) only practice the top line without the bass :)
The first part only took 1.5 hours to master. I need a few weeks for the second part
same 😭🤚
Mr. Marco, I hope there is A tutorial of this(The clear edition)
I've got no chance Marco,I can't play most of the basic stuff you post, hope you and your family are well sir
Tnx Andy. All good so far but so many cases ☹️
@@MarcoCirillo glad to hear Marco, really scary times for sure,we have just come into lockdown this week but and in early stages but rising by the day,im in scotland but many in London and other areas down south were not taking it serious enough,I still have to go to work for now too,I hope yous start to see better times soon in Italy and all accross the world too, thank you for your updates and your videos, keep well
Really lovely Marco 😘 guess what I’ll be doing tomorrow! Yes! Having a break from barre chords 🤣 grazie mille edit... Marco, it looks like it, but is all the melody played with just two fingers alternating i & m? and sometime it looks like alternating m & i? and bass line just the thumb? thanks
I still need a tutorial!!!
Hi Marco is there a way to purchase just this tab alone?
Marco, I have enjoyed playing this piece for about 30 years. I have scored it and adjusted my transcription several times, always looking for most efficient fingering. I really like the fingering you use in several bars. Can I arrange to purchase TAB directly from you? Thanks!
Thank for the video also first comment here !!
FYI I'm learning guitar while staying home..😎 so please make more videos like this
This is wonderful. You say at the end “the tab is available on my ??? Page” but I couldn’t catch what or where that is. Could you post that address please? Really looking forward to trying these chords.
Watch the 4th fret at the start when he plays a fret marker keeps popping up. Camera?

Grazie :)

I play this with classical guitar band
💙❤
😎
F#m7b5😳 ..Bach? Wow..who'd a known!
blackbird is based on this composition
if you replace B-Major with teenager this chaos is easier to understand
Tenacious D
It's Bach were you expecting it to be easy
I disagree with several chords. Like the A diminished in my opinion clearly is an Am6. A diminished also doesn't make sense harmonically. Also the A7/E is an Em6. There are several more chords I would analyze differently.
I learned this from TENACIOUS D.
Cringe
just get a pair of pliers & a set of new strings and set them next to your guitar. your strings shall comply
God’s music has all the chords. Lol
Not enough chords.
hes scared of a nylon string or what
not chords... polyphonic melodic lines. You can't play Bach without paying attention to bringing out the different melodies in different sections. If you always bring out the top line, you're losing out on its spicyness
I counted 4 chords.
Count again ...
@@MarcoCirillo Oh, I missed one!
5.
You r missing another 25 chords ...
@@MarcoCirillo ohhh I see it now, 25 chords. Hey, I was close!
It's not even classical, it's baroque.
I think, on a theoretical level, Bouree in E minor sounds like hot flaming garbage. It sounds nice, but it also sounds like a super lazy piece of work thats a product of burn out and plight, rather than creativity and art.
