HE WAS THE RIGHT GUY FOR HER. He changed for her and tried to be a better person, he always thanked of her and tried to make her happy. He payed her university, was for her when she needed it and NEVER tried to make her feel pressure like Pacey. Im so mad when people prefer Pacey and not him when Dawson is the character with the best development. I just love how he changed and everything about him, he deserves better
Riiiight??????? I think exactly the same thing. Pacey doesn't actually change. He only develops professionally without studies and emotionally he is a womanizer. In my opinion. When Dawson only had eyes for Joey.

Dawson and joey for ever
God I’ve never been more frustrated with a show than I was with this one. I liked Pacey and Joey the first time together I felt like that was there time. It should’ve ended the first time they broke up. There was really no reason to keep on dragging just for the sake of a love triangle. Was pisses me off the most is that the point of this show was to demonstrate no matter how far apart Joey and Dawson grew they were always going to come back. Pacey was an important part of Joey maturing but that’s it. The fact that Joey and Pacey ended up together just throws away all of Pacey’s grow. He literally depended his happiness on Joey and everytime they would meet again they were back to square one. I guess the same could be said for Dawson and Joey, but they’re soulmates! A totally different dynamic. I guess Joey and Dawson’s relationship not working out was always blamed on bad timing. Which is why I would’ve loved to see that in the worst timing possible (Jen’s death) they finally realized they could be together. I also hate the fact that they would always make Pacey a loser as long as he wasn’t with Joey like if Pacey was a nobody without her. Joey and Pacey ending up together really made me think Pacey didn’t have any true character development. Dawson and Joey were supposed to end up together despite ALL the obstacles. In my mind Pacey is a successful restaurant owner and chef and he doesn’t see Capeside as this terrible place anymore, Joey and Dawson get married and have kids, both live in New York and continue their careers.
P.S. What was it with the show ALWAYS making Dawson’s movies about his life like come on if was so creative he would come up with something better than that. The first time he filmed the movie it was cute, then by the end it was growing tiresome. It was so annoying how they always used the stupid movie/show as a metaphor for the love triangle. And I hated how Dawson and Joey ended up together on the fake tv show like it was supposed to make the Dawson and Joey shippers happy wtfff
Finally someone who gets it. This was one of the best comments I’ve read. The writers definitely dropped the ball with the series finale. The entire series built up to Dawson and Joey being together as plain as day! Why they didn’t do that is ridiculous.

Honestly i know people hate this couple but i really loved them :( the moments they had together were adorable and idk. I mean i know people prefer her with pacey and i like them together too but i feel like pacey with andie wouldve been better, either way joey and dawson were soulmates whether they ended up together or not

Pacey and Joey had great chemistry (certainly helped by Katie and Josh real life chemistry) but I loved pacey and andie so much I was pissed of when they separated them to have Joey and pacey together in season 3. The first part of season 3 is not as good as others parts of the show. But Joey and Dawson will always have a wonderful and deep relationship no matter what. I would have loved the show ending with season 4. I think the end of season 4 was perfect because it was full circle and everybody could have had what they wanted because the kiss between Joey and Dawson could have been a new beginning or an end everybody could have their interpretation. And the goodbyes with pacey were also full of hope for their fans. And he had a great scene with andie too.

I’m discovering the show now, and I realized that lots of people chose Pacey over Dawson to be with Joey, and I hate the writers for making her and Dawson to be away, they will be unique for their bond for the rest of the time! I would die for watching them together at season finale! On my mind, they are sort of lovers. Their connection won’t die, NEVER

For all the times these two nearly killed each other there actually was something special between them. They understood each other in a way no other person did. And, while their relationship was problematic, to say the least, they had amazing chemistry and a spark that couldn’t be put out. I was very disappointed in the producers for ruining the series when they decided Joey should be with Pacey. He was the villain all along, stealing Joey from Dawson. Then he had the nerve to act the victim when Dawson was ready to be done with him over it. Pacey was more annoying than any other character. As often as it’s implied that Dawson was stuck in a rut, Pacey was too; he just never fully grew up. At least Dawson learned to quit harping on past transgressions and healed from how others hurt him.
I hated him so much. Never understood the hype around that character.

When writters made Joey choose Peacy they threw the whole plot in the trash, because the story was about how Dawson and Joey had to grow up to meet in the future and be together in a more mature way, don't get me wrong because I love Peacy, but Peacy and Andy were superior on every level to Peacy and Joey... the way Peacy related to Joey was no different than how he related to the other girls on the show, Andy was the only one who really showed the best of Peacy.
Dawson and Joey were each other's ground wire and hope until the last chapter and it's sad that even though she decided to stay with Peacy they made it clear that between her and Dawson there will always be something they won't have with anyone else, they will always be on top anyone partner that they may have because it was a love that marked them so much that it did not end, they only continued their lives (in real life it is most likely that at some point they would even have a new relapse between them) it is a shame how everything ended because although maybe it was the "right" thing definitely for the story itself it wasn't the best (I guess there were more PJ fans and that's why they changed the ending)
if we pay attention to what Joey says to Jen and Peacy about "always knowing who she should be with be" and "had to stop escaping his feelings" it is obvious that she talks about Dawson! She never escaped her feelings for Peacy, she went and found out what she feeling for him and they had a relationship, while every time she was fine with Dawson for fear, she sabotaged the relationship, that's why Joey also didn't care that Peacy had other partners after than they breakup and suffered so much when she saw Dawson with others girls, everyone knew that in the story, knew that Joey had to be with Dawson, it still seems very strange to me the way they changed the ending, in an attempt to surprise the public they canceled the story itself.

I loved Pacey and Andie and was so upset with the way the writers that replaced or took over Kevin Williamson’s spot wrote Andie in Season 3. After all that she’s been through with Pacey and how much they meant to each other.. how much they love each other. To have her cheat on him while getting treatment with a fellow patient was out of her character. I don’t it was so weird... the seasons after season 2 has been so weird character and story wise. I think I read that the majority of the writers really wanted to bank on the growing Pacey and Joey fan following..so they were pushing for Pacey and Joey for the newer seasons even though Pacey and Andie had a good response as a couple and of course Dawson and Joey also had a strong fan following too. There was just a lot of experimenting and new relationships thrown into Dawson’s Creek and I get it. They had to grow up and they have to explore their options and enjoy their youth. But at the same time... it kind of lost it’s charm to me. I started to lose interest in it tbh...ever since Season 3.
Also, the cycle of who Joey was going to choose.. who did she really love between Dawson and Pacey was so dragged out tbh. I honestly didn’t care who she ended up with, but in the back of mind I was still thinking she would choose Dawson cuz they always told each other.. no matter what happens in their lives..other relationships coming and going.. if they had a fight or misunderstanding again.. they grew apart or grew close again. It will ALWAYS BE THEM. They acknowledge that they’re soulmates and all the characters on that show even Pacey said so.. LOL! I also know that soulmates doesn’t always necessarily mean that person will be your true or greatest love. It’s a person who you have this unbreakable bond and connection with.. a one of a kind connection that you don’t have with anyone else. I find that even more special tbh no matter if they got to together in DC future or just stays friend. They know they’re soulmates. I guess I’m okay with that LOL!
I mean Pacey and Joey were cute and exciting for a while, but that was just it. But I just can’t get over Pacey and Andie and how much Andie really just motivated Pacey to become a better version of himself. She was the first girl to believe in Pacey’s intelligence and potential of being someone great. Pacey became even more of a good character and boyfriend in this show cuz of Andie. Pacey did the same for Andie, he was the balance that Andie needed in her life. He tells her that she doesn’t always have to be perfect, it’s okay to make mistakes or to relax and enjoy life. They were just such a great and MATURE couple tbh.

Gosh, I agree with everything you just said. This is dawson's and Joey's story and should have ended with them. I was really disappointed as well, so disappointed that I have never watched out the entire series because of that same ending.

Your way of editing made me cry. It's so frustrating that they didn't end up together, that I think that's the saddest thing, that despite how emotional their scenes together are and everything they went through, the writers just wasted season 6, because I honestly think that during all that season they insisted on throwing away the possibility of them being together, and it really seems very forced. I hope in time, I don't take the ending seriously and just imagine that they lived happily ever after, as it should have been.

Dawson and Joey. Joey and Dawson. Where does Dawson end and Joey begin? Can there ever be a Joey by herself without Dawson? NO there cannot be a Joey by herself without Dawson. And there cannot be a Dawson without Joey. Why? Because they are soulmates. Soulmates do not exist without one another. There is no start or end to soulmates. They just simply exist - forever - Dawson and Joey.

I rewatched DC and i still hate that D&J didn't end up together. I hate that they teased us with their love story line, but never gave them a real shot. Pacey should have been just a fling..not who Joey ends up with. I can't imagine being that connected to someone (soulmates)and ending up with someone else.

I know!!! Pacey and Joey were a repeat of Andie and Pacey. Andie and Joey are both smart girls and when they first met Pacey, they both argued and bickered with him. They both also changed him for the better. I was very disappointed when Pacey said Joey was his first love because I think it should have been Andie. Andie really changed Pacey and they went through so much together.

Well since Dawson's mom asked him if she is a girl.he would take a leap of faith with. Dawson's you and me forever speech was his taking the leap of faith. his dream of marrying her was the universe's vision of their destiny that allowed him the liberty to have the faith. After a year of dating Pacey, she finds out that he wants to propose. Jen's ghost hunts her and finally gives Joey are reality check. She realizes that she didn't stop running and that it's time.tp go back home to Dawson. They get back together, get married at the leery residence in a beautiful Capside wedding. Jen smiles from heaven. They sleep at Dawson's room for the first night as husband and wife and the next day, they go for their honeymoon in Europe. They return to LA and have many Leery babies. at this time Pacey gets together with the popular high school girl, inforget her name lol. And they all live happily ever after.
