@@ridgy37it can still be paused for 24 hours, I'm sure there will be some counter somewhere of how long youve paused time for.
@@ameliarose47 sure, the point is while its paused its not working. Daily incense will never last longer than a combined 15 minutes
@@ridgy37while the timer itself may stop counting down the effects of the incense won't stop working while the timer is paused, you'll continue getting incense spawns while it is paused
Seems a bit expensive to me to use regularly, but neat I suppose. I was hoping for a system similar to the Mega Energy system that recharges over time.
This is a crazy update, though feels kinda one sided. I always liked DIalga more, but I feel bad Palkia's bonus kinda sucks in comparison. If you are distorting space it should make regional pokemon appear or decrease the distance you have to walk for eggs or candy from buddies. Something more useful than you can grab that BIdoof around the block.
Also the Origin Forms are cool. They've grown on me since I played Legends Arceus. They are like punished versions of Dialga and Palkia. Dialga uses Roar of Time so Arceus blocked his throat, and Palkia uses Spacial Rend which involves it swiping it's claw in the air so Arceus took away his arms. Really crazy designs
Agreed, if they were dead set on the radius increase power they should have made it way longer than 6 minutes, I know Niantic thinks hardcore PoGo players are lazy but damn I'm not *that* lazy lmao
Y'all are sleeping on Palkia. This will allow you to encounter more than double the amount of pokemon while it's active. Walking for an hour would basically be like walking for more than 2 hours. Imagine this during Go Fest
The increased spawn radius could be amazing on Com Day with all the extra spawns.
You're gonna get a bunch of spawns already. You don't really need the extra radius. It might be more useful for like GO Fest/Safari Zone but I can't see this being that beneficial during a CD...
@@inviso87 I get _three_ spawns per hour at my apartment. During comm days this is increased to a grand total of four. I am, however, on five pokestops within spin distance, but only two are in "spawn radius" for lures. Spacial Rend would conceivably allow me to reach the spawns of those other three stops if anyone uses a lure on them. Also would get an extra 5 or 6 "regular" spawns per hour normally (based on my experience during that time when the spawn radius was doubled), not sure about CD spawn count, but probably more. I do try to go out during comm days but sometimes I can't due to weather so this would be great for playing at home for me.

Pretty neat, but the candy cost kinda kills it for me personally. Unless they expect us to use rare candy or have palkia and Dialga in raids commonly then the majority of people it'll be unaccessible

I like the idea but the effects feel very expensive. Stardust is fine, but as someone who is pretty limited on candy due to needing to use remote raids, It's hard to justify spending this for an ability that lasts for such a short amount of time. Would love to see it work like megas where you could use them for free on a cooldown, but could burn resources to use them again sooner / for a longer duration.
Personally I think the stardust is too expensive. I have over 1,000 rare candy I don't know what to do with and already have hundreds of Palkia and Dialga candy but I don't want to waste stardust on these features as the duration is pretty short for 5,000 stardust.
I'm opposite. Don't care about the candies (RCs all day) but I burn my dust real quick. Comes with having 90 L50s.
Rare candy are easy to get as a reward in GBL. Just pump them into Dialga or Palkia. Thats what I'm saving up for.

@@Thurgosh_OGsweet scent, at least in the old gens that i played, forced you into a pokemon encounter if you stand in tall grass/surf in water etc. so in pogo it would most likely just spawn a random pokemon near you like an incense would or even force you into a pokemon catch screen as if you clicked on a pokemon near you.
Incense basically functions as Sweet Scent
that's pretty cool, I'd definitely like to add 6 minutes to my daily incense a couple times a week. Glad to have a use for all the rare candy I've been sitting on as well.

see lots of people complaining about the cost and such but the thing is i don't think these are made to be used regularly. its something that you save to use for events you want to double down on like maybe a beldum community day you could use palkia for those 3 hours or maybe there is a Audino spotlight hour with 2x stardust then def worth using the candy to extend that starpiece or catch circle

I liked the increased spawn radius when we had it so will probably use that more.
I had that glitch a while back for maybe two or three days that doubled my spawn radius and it was AWESOME. I got quite a few rare spawns that I wouldn’t have encountered as a result and I think they may have been testing this feature or it inspired this new effect
This opens the door for a lot of cool moves being implemented to change the game. Sweet Scent to be a move-based lure, the weather moves to change your weather bonus for a short duration.
Did anyone notice in the shop we had available for a short period of time for 7000 coins 50 of both types of incubator?? Crazy stuff! 😮

Not gonna lie, that are some awesome bonuses for the overworld part of Go.
The spacial rend when he read it almost sounded like it had to do with regional spawn pokemon. Not an increased catch radius, but a increase of those pokemon around you. First rend would retrieve pokemon from your closest pokestop (i.e. say there's a eevee at your park, you see hime nearby) multiply the rend you'll have a chance at encountering other regional pokemon (probably maxing out the rend)
for palkias ability, i hope there’s just a fixed distance increase to the radius, cuz in places like hk where i live that are close to the equator, the pokestop radius is tiny, and so if it’s just the same radius as pokestops, it’s probably gonna be a nerf and/or little to no difference for us

Remember when they tested expanded catch zone feature last June by accident, told everyone it was a QOL improvement, patched it, told everyone it would be way too overwhelming for new players so it was their responsibility to turn it off, and then made it an overpriced feature on an event-locked pokemon?

I actually like the Palkia one cuz i have some stops that are just barley out of reach for lures. So if I lure them, I can increase my distance and take advantage of them
i think its a good way of using some of that rare candy ive got piling up taking all my bag space
The spatial rend might be nice if I'm not going out on a community day
i will walk dialga or palkia (not sure which one i will choose) for most candy that i will use on these. seems like a fun thing to do every now and then in small doses

The best time to use the pause is when it's 2×dust and higher, or to make more use of a single lucky egg. And having more time to catch the birds is a plus. Great feature!!! Definitely using a level 3 dragon mega to get more candy in L.A. LET'S GO!!!!

Due to extreme rare Larvesta I finally hatch my first ever Larvesta on last Sunday after no give up for hatch for this pokemon since debut about 9-10 months ago. .

The idea sounds pretty decent, but the cost and duration are not right.
5,000 dust cost for 6 extra minutes of a daily incense?
That’s potentially 6 spawns - so could be as little as 600 dust assuming you get and catch all 6 extra spawns, 900 with a starpiece.
But also outside of raids which cycle round, you are either going to have to push Rare candy or walk (@10/20km per).
Based on the explanation here and the costs I doubt this will be a much used feature.
Guess this is what they were testing when we had the increased Pokémon radius ‘bug’ awhile back.
Makes me think the accidental increase of radius a few months ago was the implimentation or testing of this.

I would use extented radius to be able to get more Pokemon from lures. There has been many times that i have bunch of stops within the spinning radius but if i lure them, i'm too far from the lures to be able to see and get the spawns out of them
Nick says you "can get them", but you have to have a ticket and have to choose whether you want Dialgo OR Palkia AND there's only a chance that the ones you catch from raids will have this move. [ EDIT: see comments ]
Only the first weekend. The global weekend is the next weekend and you won't need a ticket.

Candy cost is a high price. If it had a timer on it that made it free 1/week like megas that would be great
Sick. I’ve been walking daily with that incense for almost 2 months straight and only ran into 2 birds. Missed the first, MB’d the 2nd and maybe I’ll actually get another with this feature
You're going to need to be in a heavy spawn area in order to make back the stardust you spend activating if you don't have a lot of spawns it's going to be pointless to activate these things The only time I can see these being useful is maybe during a go fest or safari zone event
Even the you need to catch around 100 Pokémon at 50 extra dust each to make back what you spent. And that’s just the dust, so your basically net negative every time you use it

Are we sure it's pausing the timers allowing the total duration of use to be increased or is it pausing allowing you to take a quick lunch break
So if you can be invited to a raid during the event. If you don’t plan on going and you buy a ticket and get invited would you still get the move?
I don’t know how I am this lucky, but yesterday I caught my third galarian Zapdos in an ultra ball. I have the other 2 both caught in master balls, but for some reason Zapdos loves me and I’ve caught 3 all without the use of a master ball🤣

Man thats pretty annoying that the Spacial rend effect all but rules out any possibility of a spawn radius increase. Love that they monetized the bug/feature that the whole community loved.

not a great feature considering that it will just end up costing you as much as just buying the incense and things seperately, unless you are just going after xl candy for dialga or palkia. fortunately too the how to video of them both clearly showed that these moves are two bar so considering them to be similiar cooldown to draco meteor, it should help them be in line with the shadow dragons which isn't too bad considering dialga has much better tdo

TLDR: Never do this to extend a star piece, and effectively never (unless you're a whale).
From a resource perspective, this is a terrible deal:
5k dust and 5 candy (1.5 raids for $1.50 in person raid/$2.63 remote) for 6 mins.
Assuming 10 catches/min:
6 mins of catching is 60 catches. If you're in a 3xdust event (comm day) that's a net gain of 31k dust (60*600dust per catch -5k dust). So net 31k dust increase, BUT a $1.50/2.63 per 6 minutes OR $15/26.30 per Hour cost.
This ALSO assumes the 3x dust bonus continues in the background, so once 5 pm rolls around, you basically go net dust even (+1k dust per 6 mins).
So what's cheaper: 1 more star piece for 30 mins (80 coins/ $0.80 (8 for 640 coins in the shop)) OR ($7.50/$13.12 of resources for 30 mins?)

yeah, nah. the candy cost for this is way too high for this to be anything i'd want to use on any sort of regular basis. the daily incense, so far as i understand, works like a normal incense with a few exceptions- it can't be extended with more incense, it has a chances to spawn the legendary birds, and it only spawns when moving. the only advantage to expanding it's time limit vs using an incense is specifically for hunting the legendary bird spawns. As a free-to-player, I've managed to catch 2 of each (plus another 2 moltres) by just regularly using my daily incense and the master balls. while i don't use it every day, i'm using very regularly, having a normal walking path i walk nearly every day, i'd guess i've only missed 1 day a week, on average. it's been out about a year and a half, which means my rate of catching galarian birds without a master ball is about one every 3 months, or once every ~80 times i've used incense. it's very low spawn and catch rates, but the more times you try the more chances you have at getting it, and eventually, you should get it.
No offense, nick, but i think a big reason you don't have a galarian bird yet is because you're very inconsistent with using the daily incense. i'd be willing to bet that if i went over your videos since it released, you have more videos where you don't use your daily incense than when you do. I bet if you spent 3 months making sure to do a daily incense walk, you could get a galarian bird caught. sooner if you masterball it. as a matter of fact, typing this now, i know a great experiment you could run for 2024. log every daily incense you use until you get one, then start using the daily incense and add some time to it, however much extra you feel like walking, and hten record that as well. then calculate if the ability actually helped at all, r if the time of incense to catch one was about the same.
Well, that's a cool feature, but it feels like it caters to the more hardcore players. I know I have nowhere near 1200 candy to allow 24 hours for my items. Personally, I don't know who would use the items for that long, but more power to you if you can. 🤔

Fortunately, I, like most people, am made of Dialga candy. I wish I was made of airports, but that's a close second.
Nick talk to Niantic! you should be able to use palkia's move on gyms and pokestops too

man completely agree they messed up dialgas design it would have been so much cooler if he was more like an ancient metal dragon instead of copy pasting palkias form and removing the arms. i also think palkia should have been gone full centaur.

The bonuses for the origin forms of Palkia and Dialga sound great but I'm questioning whether I even want to try to get them because according to the blog you will have a "chance " to get them with their signature moves so if that "chance " is as rare as the Rockruff that can go into the Dusk form Lycanroc I'm not even going to try to get them so unless there's a free guaranteed way to get origin form Palkia and origin form Dialga I'm not going to even try and get them because I don't like the origin forms of Palkia and Dialga so unless there's a free guaranteed way to get origin form Palkia and Dialga I'm not even going to try and get them because if the "chance " is like what it is right now for Rockruff that can change into the Dusk form Lycanroc it's not worth me trying to get them
