@@tutorialsandstuff3349 BF1, BF5 and BF2042 are all clearly the same version of Frostbite, aside from minor updates. BF5 has better grass and foliage, but looks grainy and almost cel shaded in areas, then 2042 went back to BF1's style of grass and the clean look, but detail-wise just looks worse, and runs significantly worse

I don’t know if I would called 2042 a mess , it’s has come an long way in both performance and maps reworking . But there’s to much of tanks and helicopters. Also Battlefield is known to be really cpu hungry so you need an really powerful cpu to run the game flawlessly

However in my opinion, 2042 doesn’t feel like a true battlefield game, it is a mix of call of duty’s movement and shooting together with battlefield’s scale of war.

The reason why is that BF1 was the last 'passion project' of the original DICE team. The devs put there heart and soul into this game, and you can see that from the original release content to the game itself. Afterwards the devs either left DICE or were obligated to do the 'sequel' in the form of BFV, and after the performance of that game DICE as we knew it completely changed, leaving us with the mess of 2042.

What a Beautiful Game! Best Battlefield game in my opinion!
If they really wanted to, they could simply just implement RTGI in this game in an update and a port for the consoles and this game will easily stand toe to toe against even today's most visually impressive games.

even tho its from 2016, i like the look more than bf 5 and 2042
and also to explain the gpu not fully being utilized, it is already putting out so many frames, that there might be an internal bottleneck in the card, or maybe it is some limitation of the game engine.

No matter when the game was released, it shouldn't be that hardware dependent, and remember, it is a game, not a crypto mining software or animation renderer, it's a game, you need more single threaded performance, so that is why it just can't utilize all the cores, or maybe it IS using all the cores, just not fully. You should check by using HWinfo.
trust me, it is. older games won't fully utilize your cpu if it has more cores than the higher end cpu's around the release date of the game

I don't know why, but it seems to me that the picture quality is much better than normal, maybe it is the effect of the av1 codec.

I have a question tho as we know 4090 is limited by its port and is only capable of 4k @120 hz because of its display port 1.4 , so don't u feel like the game is capped at 120 in ur gameplays ??
