Nowadays I'm all suited with short hair and work in the banking industry, and it always makes me smile when I come across some young folk at work these days trying to explain their image/music to me thinking I have no clue :)
I'm 42. This song is relevent to alot more people than you think. I have a friend thats over 50 that still loves this stuff. And has sung music and played bass guitar from this time period and before. People's music taste can't be put in a box cause of age.

The music video is also equally great especially because of the vignettes due it's emotional and sympathetic approach like it resembles a PSA, the transitions from them into the main performance and vice versa and how it features actual teenagers from all walks of life; not just Whites, but also Blacks, Hispanics and even Asians.
