It’s such a bummer that you didn’t enjoy the construction of this dress. It looks beautiful on you and the color is great. It’ll be nice in the black rayon fabric. I hope you do sew and share it.
Your alterations make the dress look fantastic on you!
I'm so glad you reviewed this pattern because I JUST bought it myself. I had considered using a more expensive fabric I was saving to make it, after making a toile first. You and I are very much the same build so your video has shown me what to watch out for and probably saved me wasting the fabric.
Thanks!
You are so welcome! I love CZcams for this exact reason! If we can save ourselves at least one headache then all the watch time is worth it! 😆
Your modifications made it a much cuter dress, imho! Love the bottom pleats...really great save on an odd length that adds much more interest.
Thank you! 😊
Your pin tucks turned out really cute
Congrats on your channel growing!!!! I’m here for it 😊
Thank you so much! Especially as you are one of my OG followers 🥰 I really appreciate it.
Length looks perfect. I think shorter would ruin it. Thx for yr review. I'm regretting having bought this pattern. I haven't found a single review where anyone was completely happy with the pattern without needing to alter it.
The tucks were a great idea.
Omg.... Na - I'm gonna leave on what I'm wearing. I look cute"........ I couldn't stop laughing. Yes you look cute!!! I do love the dress (the one you didn't change into) especially the color!!
🤣🤣🤣 I felt in should leave that moment in, for authenticity sake - you know?
That took me out too. And I thought yeah girl you are cute!
I love the dress! It is my style for sure... I'll be watching to see if you decide to sell it 😊
Thanks so much, keep you guys posted on that one 😉
It's a beautiful dress...thanks for your review.
Thanks so much, Karon!
I have this pattern just bought it love all you changes
Even though you dont like the dress , it turned out very well , i ❤ it
Thanks so much, I think it’s grown on me, the comments helped too 😊 made me see it wasn’t so bad LOL
Commenting to help you get more reach! This is quality content, and you’re funny. Keep going 👏
I appreciate it! 😊😊
Very useful critique thank you. Wish I'd found your video before I bought it!!
😆😆
I agree! The elastic measurements are always too big for me too!
Great job fixing the fit.
Thank you!
I love pintucks. I think the dress and the color looks great on you.
Thanks, Donna! 😊
ties were a great idea to adjust the waist!
Thanks! It was literally one of those split second ideas and I'm so glad I acted on it!
Love how you modified the dress
Thanks, Vanessa! 😊
The dress looks good on you! 😍
Thank you, Kennethia! I’m going to check out your review next. Just by the thumbnail, that pink looks good on you 😉
I just recently got this pattern so I was happy to see this review. I love all the mods you did to it! The pintucks are really cute and I think add a lot f interest to it. I also love the ties and the color is gorgeous. Very pretty!
Glad it was helpful! 😊
Love the final dress!!
Thank you!!
Lovely dress, it's very flattering on you. Thank you for sharing the instructions and your thoughts.
Thank you & thanks so much for watching 😊
I think you did a fantastic job with the pattern.
I think it turned out super cute !💙
Thank you!
Thanks for the review. Usually with the big 4 patterns I have to shorten them bc they are made for women 5'7 and I'm 5'2. If you would have shorten the skirt part you might have had enough for the pocket but I do like have you added the ties. Enjoying your channel
Thanks so much for that tip! Also really interesting in that I didn’t know they drafted for a 5”7 frame. That makes a lot of sense now!
@@thecuratedcurvy They call it average size people 🙄. I also have to adjust the waist on dresses bc I'm short waisted
Hi Julie! This is one of my favorite sewing channels and I follow a lot 😊. Thank you so much for sharing your favorite sewing books, I purchase the René Bergh Make your own patterns and I love it. Greetings from México 🇲🇽
Thank you so much for such a kind comment! I’m also really pleased to know that you got something useful from the vides 🥰🥰
Soooo good to know because I bought this pattern- have yet to make but looks
Like I’m gonna hack off half the bottom ! Thank you !!!!
You’re welcome 😊 glad you found it useful. The pattern does have great potential to be a beautiful dress!
Maybe you should have chosen a different fabric but your version looks very nice. It is my favourite pattern.
I think so too!
I have this pattern, so I really appreciate your notes. I think I'll sew the sleeves the same way as you (it did make sense). Wish me luck!
You got this! Glad to know that sleeve bit made sense LOL 😊
I love the finished dress. I think I need to start measuring the pattern pieces of big 5 patterns and compare them to my body measurements. This happens to me all the time when I make stuff. It's always too big. I like the kind of empire waist on this dress and I did buy it. I am going to try to make it in a midi length. I think yours turned out cute. Sometimes when I make stuff I need to give it a "time out" for a while and then I find the love for it. I hope that happens to you. Thanks for the video!
Totally agree with the time out idea. Because watching this back I feel like it wasn’t really that bad, I actually think I like it more now.
Dress beautiful on you.
Thank you!
Thank you for this. You never know with these patterns.
So true! Thanks for watching 😊
In all honesty this style is not one I would go a size up for. Instead of the pintucks, which did give the dress some interest, I would have cut the bottom flounce off slightly above the gathers and reattached it to the skirt at your preferred skirt length. Just my 2 cents worth❤. I think the finished alterations definitely improved the dress.
