Scuttlebutt is that they practiced for this song in the semifinals of "The World's Best" but CBS disapproved and made them sing "Flashlight", and worse, they shortened the performance and even cut Kiefer's whistle-note part. Being very young, they couldn't hide their displeasure and it was very evident in the performance. Notice their lack of enthusiasm and disheartened demeanor in that performance. They lost and were eliminated in these semifinals. Perhaps, in retribution, they released this TNTV version on CZcams. Go savor their raise-back.
Mackie voice has been changing to a deeper voice. He is doing the lower notes now as you noticed which I think it's really good. Francis belting is getting stronger. This song I think really suits KEIFER type of voice. I don't know why but this song is KEIFER at least for me. Yes FRANCIS HAS A HARD TIME SAYING "R". For Keifer I don't think it's much of an issue. Mackie a little bit. Some ASIAN countries have a hard time saying "r". My country is "F","TH", "R". I used to teach english. Thank you so much for your reaction and pointing out things. thanks for sharing your thoughtful reaction to this beautiful rendition by TNT Boys, coach. yes, Francis' "dreams" part caught my attention as well. one thing to note, if you look back at the TNT competition that Francis partook in (where he met Mackie and Keifer, who were also contestants) just 2 years ago, Francis had difficulty then with his English pronunciations, and also appeared to have a slight speech impediment (the hosts playfully tried to help him with his pronunciations). no doubt, he's come a very long way in such a short amount of time. conceptually, however, his slight difficulty with the word "dreams" also seems to work with the song, as he 1) sang in a higher pitched child's voice at the beginning (sort of mimicking the original singer), and 2) sang in English to a Filipino dialect, then bounced back to English again (with otherwise, barely a slip). glad you pointed it out, nonetheless... how else would one learn from a teachable moment :)

Its like a choir singing but inreality, its only the 3 of them.. Their harmony is heavenly perfect! My favorite cover so far.. Also, the message of the song suits them best.. thanks for sharing your thoughtful reaction to this beautiful rendition by TNT Boys, coach. yes, Francis' "dreams" part caught my attention as well. one thing to note, if you look back at the TNT competition that Francis partook in (where he met Mackie and Keifer, who were also contestants) just 2 years ago, Francis had difficulty then with his English pronunciations, and also appeared to have a slight speech impediment (the hosts playfully tried to help him with his pronunciations). no doubt, he's come a very long way in such a short amount of time. conceptually, however, his slight difficulty with the word "dreams" also seems to work with the song, as he 1) sang in a higher pitched child's voice at the beginning (sort of mimicking the original singer), and 2) sang in English to a Filipino dialect, then bounced back to English again (with otherwise, barely a slip). glad you pointed it out, nonetheless... how else would one learn from a teachable moment :)

the part where they sang in a local phil. dialect can be translated to the english lullaby, "sleep my darling baby, mother is so far away".
Awesome and beautiful rendition. I also noticed the roll of the r. He does it twice but gets it right the rest of the times. It maybe the quick transition from word to word like you said. He’s getting better and better a very strong belter!
