      Exactly. even if the prices match a house the lending and subsequent interest is the issue. Dodge is bragging about 8% rates on their website. So let’s say On an 80k car @ msrp that is literally 7-800 dollars of hidden interest per month - ON TOP of your normal payment - which equates to that 8% or 10k annual. Let’s just say someone is SMART and has a trade in, where you’ve actually paid tax on the difference (so in a smaller amount) it is indeed foolish right now. Most people were put off because they weren’t even in the same tier of vehicle. Now Supply has caught up but demand is slow to kick back up. Wonder why that is. Maybe all These dealers can do is wait on unknowledgeable first time buyers?? Or …Maybe there isn’t any issue and this is all internet hype -- let’s discuss financing vs cash down… your rate never really mattered much whether you paid more cash down by a few thousand than if you didn’t. Facts.

    I'm personally so glad to finally read on a publis forum, where people are finally telling the true story behind where Dodge/Mopar is heading. I have been loyal to the brand for many years. Dodge and Ram have always been my first consideration when thinking about a new or used vehicle. I recently sold my 2016 Challenger SRT 392 mainly because I didn't feel comfortable parking it anywhere for any extended amount of time. The "HOOD", and everyone knows who I'm referring to, has all but ruined the Mopar scene. The justice system has fallen flat on it's face. The criminals are taking over the driver's seat and the "Chrysler" brand, may it R.I.P. will never be the same.

CZcamsr OC Motivator recently put up a video of a live call with a salesman from a Dodge dealership that was asking for a $40k markup on the Hellcats. Also! 70k plus for a non Jeep or Durango srt - in other words hellcat has hidden interest of appx 200 per month even if your rate is 4%. That’s why it’s bullshit. The dealers are preying on first time buyers who haven’t done the math perhaps? 8% as broadcasted on dodge website for a scat pack financed works out to be over 700 dollars a month hidden interest - ON TOP OF YOUR dealer agreed upon rate - to equate to close to 8k per year if 8% (of a 80k car)

    I did the math last time I was at the dealer just for shits and giggles, I would have to fork out now a days with a 7% interest rate, $7,000 down, good credit score and 72 months financing my payment would be $850 a month.
    When I purchased my car in 2016, I put 7K down, 1.9% interest 72 month financing and I only paid $450 a month!

      @007zzzz Před 11 měsíci

      That's actually reasonable for the trim, 70k for a scatpack is what's outrageous. You see, when hellcats first dropped they were at the 70k mark, then prices bumped up just a bit before the widebody came out which was around 80k+ a little extra (without any customization) a 10k bump up isn't really that much if you have the money. It's funny how people say 90k for a hellcat is too much but people will be willing to pay double that for a supra. No hate at all, it just doesn't make any sense to me. Do you see BMW prices? I mean I get they're sports/luxury cars but some of their trims are NOT worth ANYTHING above 60k and yet you see them above that by at least 7,000-10,000 and people are still willing to buy them. I'm not defending dodge, I'm just saying that right now, since the dealers are dumbing the prices down by so much... why don't the people take advantage? I'm trying to make as much sense as possible without starting a senseless war about something so ridiculously stupid.

    I Purchased a 2016 hellcat charger and a 2016 hellcat challenger back in 2017. They were leftovers. Nobody wanted these cars. There were thousands of these leftovers nationwide at that time. I walked into the dealership and walked out with both. Both sticker over $72,000 and got them for a little over $53,000 each. even at that price in 2017 they were expensive but worth the money to me. Now fast forward to 2023 and these things are stickering roughly $25,000 more than they did in 2016/2017 yet it’s the same exact car. It is a dinosaur on the market. There is a reason why they were discontinued. They just can’t compete anymore. Lots of horsepower but no finesse. It’s finished!!! Just hang tight, between MSRP mark ups, dealer, incentives, and manufactures incentives. These vehicles will be dropping about $20,000 to get them off dealership grounds. I honestly don’t even think $20,000 is going to cut it at the moment to get them off the grounds. No one likes to read yesterday‘s news. It’s always about what’s new and these cars are still running on 1970s underpinnings. Ridiculous!!!! I think it’s still a good looking car, but I sure as hell won’t pay over $70,000 for a fully loaded hellcat. GT500 and Corvette killed Dodge! They built a vehicle that works both for track and street use and they are serious machines. Horsepower is not everything.!!! Add a recession/depression into the mix and it’s total disaster. This guy on the video seems to be under the age of 30 and probably hasn’t had to live/work through a recession. He probably won’t even have a job at this dealership in the next two months so no need to worry about selling any Dodge vehicles.

    Everybody is buying used because it makes sense financially. Yesterday I flew from louisiana to Ohio and bought a 2012 Chrysler 300 completely 100% 2021 scat pack 392 swapped with 11k miles for 16k cash. It made sense! Couldn’t pass it up. Booked a flight at midnight and was at the airport at 3am to be at dude by lunch.

    As much as I would love to trade in my rt and upgrade to a scat I've already looked into it. Just can't afford it like a lot of people now.

    I had one, 2020 5.7 Charger, Octane Red, I LOVED that car.... there is a lot to hate about it too... 1. EVERY TIME I drive it, some 'homey' in another Charger, or Camaro WANT TO RACE ME.... even just to the grocery store. and forget about ever getting on the freeway, especially after dark, the Chargers distinctive tail lights, get homey coming out of the woodwork. 2. CAR THEIFT.... One attempt theft on my car... It just isn't worth it. Im not going to risk my life owning one of these cars. FANTASTIC CAR... BEST car Ive even owned... Better than any Corvette or Porsche Ive owned... Not worth my life though.

    HEAR ME OUT. Check this out, this is the real reason why. Look at the main demographics for 392/Hellcats. It's the same demographic for those who took advantage of the eviction-free program as well as the student loans. They had the extra money so they bought a Hellcat/Scat plus the markups. Now that we have to pay for rent and/or student loans, those "customers" are gone.
    As for the other % who can afford a 90k+ car, they are getting the Gt500s, Tesla Plaids, used 911s, etc. The real ULTIMATE sports cars. Believe it or not, that's the real reason.

    The problem is that unless you’re a big baller shot caller, you end up with a $1200 a month car payment maybe more. Gas, insurance, tires, and now you’re paying $2000 plus a month for it.

    It just makes sense to wait, i’ve been looking at a scat pack for 3 YEARS & the price has gone up & up & up when it was at its peak only to see it fall down, down, down & im content with just waiting for dealerships to come back to earth after being so sky high with the demand screeching to a halt

    That's exactly what I paid for my 2020 Scat Pack $47k. The only way I would but a new Scat or hellcat is for MSRP price only....and even that is too much 😅

    Even here in New Orleans where there is a huge following for them they are sitting on the lots. Even SXT’s and R/T’s are sitting. I think the cars have run their course. Same cars for years now. Everyone who wanted one has got one by now. It’s time for different cars.

    A lot of dealers aren’t putting the markups on the site and when you call in they throw it into the deal like a “forgot to mention”. Hold steady and do not buy this crap. The prices will come down. Let them keep hurting

    To be honest, I used to be a heavy dodge man but at the same time I can't see myself paying 100,000 for a dodge. With that amount I will just go get a 911 turbo s. That is part of the problem, the next problem is who can pay 1500 a month for a car right now?
