  • @shm6273

    Do you think there's a way to digitally calibrate those cheap mini hygrometer it comes with? I have taken it apart and put it back together, there was some white residue on the sensor I cleaned with alchol and that brought it 2% closer to mark but it's still 6% off.

    My needone 150 has been staying at 67-68. It's has got a little colder here , 65 outside. And my humidor has dropped to 65. I have the tray in there without boveda packs. I did add 1 with no change after a day. I added 2 more today. Shouldn't that bring up the humidity? Thanks

    • @IvanRossS
      @IvanRossS  Před 9 měsíci

      Bovida takes a long time to bring up humidity lol. You should have just use tray that comes with it and fill up with distilled water

  • @lurrdluffy
    @lurrdluffy Před 5 měsíci

    Which Boveda Sizes are you using? I have 3 320g 69%, I just receive mine and im having some issues stabilizing the humidity, heard plugging the hole and a fan might help. Also the back of mine is different, the filter is not expose and its just a smooth metal plate

    • @nathanhawee5373
      @nathanhawee5373 Před 5 měsíci

      I'm having some of the same issue I think, I'm using 69% and am only getting 64/65% on a good day. When it's cold it's lower.
      So I'm wondering if you tried putting something in the drain hole and if it helped? And wanted to ask if there is a way to check the door seal or a way to help it seal better? I'm afraid that's my problem.

    • @lurrdluffy
      @lurrdluffy Před 4 měsíci

      @@nathanhawee5373 are you only using the hydrometer it came with? The issue might just be air flow, I gave up on the bóvedas because there was 0 airflow so the humidity would drop to 63-64% wether I would tape the drain hole or not, videos here recommend using a fan to help with that, but they might have changed the size of the drain holes recently since I bought two fans and the power cable of neither one fit through it. Eventually I bought an oasis, and two new hydrometer from goove, and it’s working much better, I do get some variation in RH, and a different of 2% between the top shelf and the bottom shelf. Also changed in temps outside can influence the unit. I guess only time will tell if it’s working how I need it to, it’s still too soon

    • @lurrdluffy
      @lurrdluffy Před 4 měsíci

      @@nathanhawee5373 about the door seal, no idea, I was wondering the same, I don’t think I have an issue with mine since it holds the RH pretty well unless there’s specific wether changes

    I have heard of guys putting tape over the drain plug and it has work for them. Will give that a try

    • @IvanRossS
      @IvanRossS  Před 9 měsíci +1

      Do that. Mine staying at 67-68% all the time. Have like 3 bovida packs in there 69%.. hole not close at all. No problems whats so ever. You only need to close that hole while you seasoning and stabilizing your humidor. It takes few weeks, if not month. Only thing I did with it, I replaced fan inside. It had annoying whining noise from day one.. 2 fans that behind super quiet, I left them alone

    So I’ve solved my humidity issue but now I’m having issues with condensation. Is it normal for it to have condensation on the heatsink on the inside? It sometimes drips

    • @IvanRossS
      @IvanRossS  Před 2 měsíci

      Yes of course because of a relative temperature. The more temperature difference between inside of your house and inside of your humidor the more humidity in the water will be collecting. This is why there is a drain hole there

    • @KsiEchoLieutenant

      @@IvanRossS so will this cause any problems as in mold or anything?

  • @nathanhawee5373
    @nathanhawee5373 Před 5 měsíci

    So are you saying if i plug mine in, the fan wont pull humidity out???
    Then does the cool air drop it then?
    I really need to know having problems and about ready to lose sticks

    • @IvanRossS
      @IvanRossS  Před 5 měsíci +1

      Okay first of all stop freaking out. You will not lose your sticks :) for you to lose your sticks your humidity level inside of cigars have to be maintained low for a very long time. When you cool air, humidity naturally will drop it's just physics. I keep my humidor at 68f. Just set your temp to 68° put some bovida packs in there and tray with distilled water on the bottom. Keep an eye on your humidity, it will take a couple of days also I will highly recommend you to test your hydrometer. Do not trust a hydrometer that comes with it, it's horrible Chinese crap. My was off by minutes 4-5%. What hydrometer do you use ? Did you perform salt test on it ? To verify that your hydrometer is accurate

    • @IvanRossS
      @IvanRossS  Před 5 měsíci +1

      In next 2 to 3 days there is a possibility your humidity can reach to 72% . It's ok. Just keep it that way for another 2-3 days. After that just remove your tray with distilled water and eventually it will normalize amd drop to 68% 69 % but keep your bovida packs in there. I use x3 69% packs.

      @@IvanRossS awesome thanks! I will definitely give this a try makes sense to put in some extra distilled water with my boveda (I use a 320 gm and 60 GM at 68%). Thanks ALOT! It's officially a hobby I've spent about 500$ the last 80 days hahah but thanks again I really needed to try something new

    Im using one of these. And ive been running it unplugged since i got it because the weather is cold. But it's starting to warm up now, when i turn it on, how long does it take for humanity to go back up? Mine dropped to 58% after plugged in.

    • @IvanRossS
      @IvanRossS  Před 5 měsíci

      @@IvanRossS damn then you haven't actually used one then?? I mean they all work about the same, and pretty much everyone uses boveda's.
      In the video you said where the fan is, there isn't actually a hole going into the humidor and the only place air gets in/out is the hole in the back. Why then when I turned it on would the humidity drop 10%

  • @gonzalocasillasjr6686
    @gonzalocasillasjr6686 Před rokem +1

    The water/condensation won’t cause mold?

    • @IvanRossS
      @IvanRossS  Před 5 měsíci

      No it will not because your condensation do not have no minerals. So it will be very low on bacteria to grow. That's why it's very important to clean your humidor and sanitize it with high percentage of alcohol. I'm sorry for late response somehow I did not see your message...

  • @KsiEchoLieutenant
    @KsiEchoLieutenant Před 2 měsíci

    I just picked this humidor up today and I had a question about the fan that’s on the inside. Is it supposed to be running all the time or is it on like a timer? Mine seemed to stop spinning after a few minutes

    • @IvanRossS
      @IvanRossS  Před 2 měsíci +1

      It's supposed to run All the time on very low speed.. as soon as you open it it will analyze the temperature lost and it will crank the speed

      @KsiEchoLieutenant Před 2 měsíci

    • @IvanRossS
      @IvanRossS  Před 2 měsíci +1
