I’ve been to Egypt at the start of this year. Some people from our group ate something that looked like pickled baby lemons and got sick pretty bad. Luckily the hotel had an infirmary and they got the appropriate care there but it sucked pretty bad 😅 Just avoid stuff you don’t eat at your country and only eat at your hotel or trustworthy places.

Yeah this happens travelling anywhere and eating there. I once went to Sabah, Malaysia and ate some leftover raw tuna. It was a bad choice on my part, can't help it cuz it was super delicious the first time i ate it. Anyways, TIP: drink yogurt products before travelling

In Poland there is something similar called:
Pharaoh's Revenge: is a popular ailment affecting from 30% to even 70% of travelers - although it is most often associated with trips to Egypt or other North African countries. It is caused by bacteria, viruses or parasites, and is favored by the low level of sanitary conditions in the visited countries and the different bacterial flora of the digestive tract of tourists
It's also a popular burger name in Poland.

Honestly, the concept of an ancient curse that slowly turns you from the inside out into a pile of sand, forsaken to wander the dunes of egypt for daring to defile a Pharaoh's tomb is absolutely terrifying.
Imagine being a british explorer who -stole- collected some artifacts to study back in England. You suddenly feel sand clogging up your lungs, your internal organs, your muscle tissue, your bones, you can *_FEEL_* them slowly crumble to sand. You collapse onto the hard sandstone floor, your consciousness slowly fades as you are doomed to join the trillions of other grains of sand roaming the unforgiving deserts of Egypt, not knowing which ones were even human at one point.
Just return the slab, it's really not that hard.
I like the idea of the British collectors stacking multiple curses from various cultures at once to counteract the previous ones.

This got me remembering that there's an ancient Egyptian God named Babi.
Correct me if I'm wrong
Babi is one of the many sons of the God of the dead/underworld
He's also the God of all Baboons and other non-human primates. His name loosely translates to "King or Bull Baboon"
Unlike the other Egyptian Gods where they wear animal heads but are still humans, Babi is just a normal monkey that's also insanely powerful.
In lore you encounter him when you die and end up in the lake of fire. If you've been good, He'll guide you across the lake and to an archipelago similar to paradise. But if you've been awful, he'll eat your soul like a banana, cough you up, and throw you into the lake for all eternity.
There's also a major thing about Babi that's really weird that I can't say on YT, but let's just say, Google/DuckDuckGo old artwork/statues of Babi at your own risk.
Ironically because Babi is pig in malay language 😂
Funny enough Yugioh has a card of your description. A trap card called Just Desserts

Eustace: *WHATS YOUR OFFER?*

0:59 How did he say that without cracking up 💀
"Return the slab, or suffer my curse"
-King ramses
As my lungs began to fill with the coarse sand i had become all too familiar with I felt as if my time had finally reached its poetically befitting end.
I clutched the slab closer to my person as my forsaken bones began to deteriorate and crumble, the harsh consequences to my actions had finally found themselves face to face with me as the last of my breath became nothing more than the scorching desert sand. I allowed myself finally to succumb to the urge I had been holding back for what felt like a near infinite amount of time. As my lungs began to instinctively deflate I felt the last of my resistance leave my body.
Had it been a few seconds ago I would have tried to scream or seek the help I so desperately needed but my strength had simply faded like a mirage apon the rolling sands. Engulfed in sand, buried by my own lungs I had come to terms with the cruelty of death and I was simply waiting for a release that soon came. 💀

Return the slab... Or suffer my curse
The pharaoh's curse has been a thing for far longer than the internet. My dad used to work construction and a job site had been losing ladders for unknown reasons at the time, so when they got a new one he took a sharpie and wrote "He who takes this ladder shall suffer the mummy's curse". It was never taken off site.
