Awesome bruvs 👏🏼..
Thx u 🍻 🙌🏽 💀 😤 ♎️...
Como você pode escrever demoníaco.??????. É apenas mais um animal, como todos os outros animais selvagem. Descrição muito hipócrita.
How is it demonic??? It's just a normal predator that evolved on an island to fit a niche...
_info yg bagus._
I learn something new every time I get on youtube, I never seen this animal once in my 37 years of my life
Lol ! ... I've seen it briefly before but never given any details.
They appear in the Madagascar movies... 🦛🦓🦒🦁🐧
I learned about it at ten years old in a book wrote by famous zoologist Gerald Durrel (now I am 54 😁)
@@julioalbertoherrera1339lmao
If you're impressed about Fossa, you'll need you see the Cougar of Figueroa Street, Los Angles.
This species is actually the smaller (lesser) fossa. Sadly the larger Giant fossa recently became extinct.
Yes , it's happened unfortunately
Thank God
Wasn't the giant fossa an ancient ancestor, but a bigger one existed recently hmmm.
A lot of similarities to the now extinct Tasmanian Tiger
I just said the same!
The true name is 'thylacine'.
What rubbish, it's from the same family as the mongoose. Tasmanian tiger didn't climb trees
@@joedennehy386 actually it’s related to bears.
@@joedennehy386 of course they dont, because theyre extinct
"Teeth sharper than any blade." Now that's quite a stretch of the imagination.
I came to know fossa through watching Madagascar cartoon animation & the fossa was feared by everyone even king Julien would run for his life
😂😂
You know a fossa would fuck you up right?
King Julien would be dumb enough to befriend the Fossa....😂
What a beautiful creature.
This is what the predator from Avatar 1 was based on
"The Fossa are coming, the fossa are coming" - King Julien
Fascinating animal. It strongly reminds me of a Paleocene mammal, one of the first major carnivores after the dinosaur extinction. Pre-feline and pre-canine. Considering, until very recently, it had to deal with gorilla-sized lemurs and gargantuan flightless Elephant birds, as well as the constant threat of being grabbed from a tree and eaten by Madagascar's former apex predator, the very large and deadly Madagascar crowned eagle (to this very day, wild lemurs on the island STILL display avoidance behavior for this species even though it became extinct over 500 years ago!) no wonder the fossa is so fierce! By the way, that eagle was so feared by man it became the basis for the mythical Roc. Imagine if it was still alive today!
Fossa originated from a mongoose.
I love animal facts! The giant eagle that roamed New Zealand with the giant moas that it hunted reminds me of this eagle, I think they were very similar. I heard locals feared that big eagle that could bring down 900+ lbs. flightless birds by driving their talons into their necks and bleeding them out.
It's like a combo of a Cat+Dog+Rat
And otter
Just Cat+Rat
They look like cats and are closely related to civets and mongooses.
No animal is more dangerous than Humans.
We need an honest documentary on US from the eyes of the major surviving species on earth
You right 😮
Reminds me a bit of the thylacine - Tasmanian tiger.
Thank you for this video. I consider myself to be knowledgeable about the planet's wildlife, but I had never encountered this one.
Me too!
Me too!
Looks like the Tasmanian Tiger
Extinct in just 150 years of the European.
Fossa is still alive and well.
Both beautiful and unique creatures 😍
@@rolfpoelman3486they eventually killed it
Funny how Africa still has Big animals
@@romeoedwards8230 Africa is our original homeland, so yes why haven't their 4 big animals yet become extinct because of us, eg elephant and giraffe and rhino and hippo?
Yep.
This animal is so deadly, it even inspired Michel Teló to write a warning song as a PSA.
It goes like:
"Fossa, fossa Assim você me mata Ai se eu te pego, ai ai se eu te pego"
(These were his last words.)
I seen alot of animals .... this is a new one I never seen, thanks for this video
First heard about these things in the animated movie Madagascar as a kid
88 million years separated from all other land!!! I am absolutely stunned that all Madagascar animals look super normal. Like its the contrary of the clip statement. Yes, they are bit exotic, but nothing too dramatic... Cat like creatures, monkeys, rodents... lizards... everything as usual. I guess it must have to do something with climate. Really I am dazzled by this revelation to me.
who gives so silly name "Fossa" to this beautiful creature....
고대의 원시 고양이 조상이 현 시대에 살아있는 느낌이 드는 아름답고 신비스럽고 멋진 동물이네요.
Just by looking at it and the way it acts I would say it's in the cat family
Convergent evolution
Just beautiful, why called it demonic?
it's what the people of Madagascar call it!
Exactly. A predator following it's predatory ways in seeking carnivorous food is hardly demonic unless you let ignorance & superstition get in the way
@@BEASTERS i'm a Malagsy people but i do not see it as demoniac. People in the country side just hate them because Fossas are chasing their pets, chicken etc
It’s a weasel
This animal looks like a panther, colored brown, but drawn by a 3 year old.

👍👍👍👍
King Julian's fear makes sense now
I remember seeing them at the Bronx Zoo awhile back, and believe me they look a lot bigger in person than when you see video footage of them. They were almost as big as my dog who was a mutt.
What?
A mutt, that is between a Pomeranian and Chihuahua, or a Great Dane x Irish Wolfhound? 😁
Only the Apex predator until Alex the Lion shows up :)

These creatures have the same body structure is a Tasmanian tiger.
These creatures are amazing, is it giant weasel, cat or something else? You certainly wouldnt want to be letting fluffy the housecat or tiddles the dog out if these were in your neighbourhood
More closely related to a mongoose
They said they are related to mongoose and civets 🍄🌍🍄

King Julian can tell you all about the FOSSA??!!
Looks like a cat, a mongoose, a daredevil...
Wow u certainly bring it to the edge...
At 2:20 you state something OBVIOUSLY incorrect. Your number for his bodies length: 2-2.6inches long (except the tail) is smaller than a mouse. Surely, you meant 2 feet - 2. 1/ 2 feet.
Further along, you repeat SHAMED DARWINIAN EVOLUTIONARY THEORY of 80 million years ago. Nonsense & NOT science. I'm out with a fat thumb DOWN.
Check what's written in the subtitles and previous comments. It was a typo for the vo. It is feet not inches
Goodbye
@@BEASTERS Glad u explained about the measurements, because it was a little confusing. But a really good Docu!
First time hearing about this like killer!
Very cool cool thanks
I have to admit there was a min or two that I thought you were going to do a Zefrank
The real "demonic creatures" are all in D.C.
And Hollyweird!
Give it a few stripes and the fossa would make a passable Tasmanian tiger.
Ohhh, look at the eyes!😮😮
THE FOOSAS!! THE FOOSAS ARE ATTACKING
Beautiful. Like a Hyena and cougar mix. 😻
"Fossa hungry! Fossa eat!"
A beautiful mammal. They are carnivores not by choice but by neccesity. Carnivores generally eat herbivores.
As the animated movie Madagascar puts it "the dreaded Fossa"
Hermosos y violentos
Ojalá no los desaparezcan
I like these guys
Was in Madagascar 1997. There for six months. Only saw three other whities
.after the animation film,. its now on tourist map 🍄🌍🍄
lol sure you were, I bet you vacationed in North Korea's luxurious gulags as well!
Super cool video. I didn't know much about the Fossa. Beautiful animal. Thank you for your video
That's a FELINE MY MAN
What is "barbaric" about the locals eating this animal? I guarantee that if this animal were allowed to exist without predation, lizards, snakes, birds, lemurs and all other small mamals and reptiles on Madagascar would be wiped out.
Imagine this creature creeping up on your bed and coiling up next to your warm legs as you sleep at night 😮 and it’s hungry, even after eating your cat that you thought was on the bed ☠️
🤔 Thanks ! 👍👍👍👍👍
They thought it was extinct for years til the caught one on a trail cam a few years back, Its just an animal not a demon. LOL
A mix of tiger, bear, weasel, hyena
Amazing creatures 😮
They are!
It has a lemur look too . 😮
Vídeo muito bom..
Wwwaaaooowww !
Fossa is a leopard more than a leopard
*Muchas gracias por el video. He visto este animal antes, pero no he visto demasiados documentales sobre él, también es hermoso.*
Si es parecido a jagurandi o acá en Norteamérica onza
Thank you much for the video. I've seen this animal before but I haven't seen too many documentaries on it its gorgeous too I hope there's better conservation on this species by now ❤❤❤
The Fossa!!! 😂 reminds me of king Julian
Very rare, mixed animal, reminds me an otters, the firecy, agility, very long tail, like swimmers like.

It's feet. Was a typo in the vo script.
We fixed it in the subtitles
Στη συμπεριφορά μου θυμίζει το κίτρινολαιμό κούναβι που είχατε ανεβάσει σε άλλο σας βίντεο.
Any pit bull will easily turn that fossa into it's meal.
It’s like a parallel evolution of a feline. It walks, uses its paws to clean themselves ,and has full control of their tail and semi retractable claws, like a cheetah. Even if they’re not related it’s like evolution will create common traits. When a niche is open .
I think although its posture and snout are similar to a Tasmanian tiger which is a marsupial but looks like a dog. Also a parallel species. It makes you wonder how other world might evolve. Or if dinosaurs were still around whether mammals would ever have evolved. 🤫
That's one awesome comment!
A unique and magnificent creature. Why would someone think it is a evil creature hence slaughter. Simply ignorence
This thing hasn't seen terror until it faces the Honey Badger! Too bad they don't live in the same regions.
