You could always get some hand carders and card the smallest scraps back into recycled fibre 😊

I feel like I would need a drum carder to make long enough pieces? It’s been a long time since I’ve used hand carders though so maybe I’m wrong lol

@@spruceandlinen yes that is true, but i dont think a drum carder would work for the small pieces, mat break the tines? And yes you will only get smaller, fluffy bundles which may not work so well in weaving 🤔

I got a good idea from my niece for those little scraps that really will never end up in a piece. she uses them to stuff her amigirumi. I do so love finding a home for all the waste! 😆

I watched a crocheter take 7 strands of leftover yarns together and make a thick, round purse grocery bag. With like colors. It looked beautiful! She got on a roll and made like 10 of these! Then sold them all at a craft show!

Make friends with a fly fisherperson that ties their own flies. (or even a fishing store) I save all my thread & yarn scraps and pass them own. He is always excite, and say the workshop teacher grabs my bag to go through it for himself first. Knowing that all my scraps are going to a good place, I don’t worry about not using extra yarn while I”m making something.

I use hand carders on the little scraps and usually spin new yarn. When I finish a project, I put all the scraps from that project into a baggy, so they are kind of separated already.

I laughed so much seeing that pile of scraps that had formed in the bottom of the bucket! lol Thanks for the tip.

So funny!!! Has anyone asked you about your tattoos? I was wondering if one is a specific multi-masted schooner like the Bluenose?

Hi Nicole, I’ve had this idea for a while. I thought weaving with cloth scraps (similar to rag rugs) might be a good thing to give to people as a memory of their loved ones. My hubby passed away recently. I cut into strips some of his jeans and shirts and I’m now trying to weave something like a tapestry on my frame loom. Any thoughts on this idea of mine? Does it sound too crazy?
