Bear Bryant caused a rule change in college football by using tear-away jerseys with an extra one carried in the player's pants. If his jersey gets destroyed by an attempted tackle during the play, he can pull out the extra and put it on before the next snap and never miss a play. The rules now require the player to be out for a play or his team call timeout if a jersey gets destroyed.

I have never seen it happen, and with the quarterback being an eligible receiver (has to be at least 1 yard behind the center in the NFL), if he were to pitch it to a lineman, then such a play would give the lineman 6 eligible receivers to throw to.
