I wonder what the developers were thinking when they made almost all of France one province.
They said they didn't want the war to focus in Europe but in Americas/India.

@@AbrahamLincoln4yea the battles in 18th century Europe were massive compared to the past , armies of up to 50,000 men and finally a return of the lost Roman doctrines that could support 10s of thousands of troops no longer did a king just hire a bunch of Swiss men to be their army, the colonial battles were just some colonial militia, native Americansand a few sea sick regiments from the home country who probably lost half of the regiment to disease battle it out in some random fort in the middle of the woods

Empire 2 would be so great. I would especially enjoy if we got a campaign that started at 1600 or even 1550. It'd be interesting to have some older troops that gradually get replaced with pike and shot.
You can get it playing Medieval 2, you get from medieval infantry to pike and shot in the end + various artillery.
Does pike and shot actually beat late game medieval armies I dont see how some aquibusserrs or whatever theyre called standing up to a cav charge followed by heavy infantry. @@senosoloma00

Gods i adore this game. Yes its janky as f**k and requires an overhaul to be good but its just so glorious. Best TW, hands down, no apology.

I would love to see an Empire 2 that adds a bunch of regions to the campaign map and breaks up some of the larger ones (France) similar in fashion to how they did it with Napoleon but have it run from the same timeframe through the Crimean War. 1700-~1855. And then have an American Civil War style game or a Franco-Prussian war style game

It would be cool if they make Empire 2. But many say that the studio has degraded and they say it would be better if this game is not touched.

I'm going to have to disagree with you on that, especially playing as the slightly smaller countries like the netherlands is loads of fun in this game. France and both the India's are also fun to play, though with those three especially if you play the game a bit more slowly and focus more on colonial wars as such to let the AI build up its armies to fight you
This proves that if they left the guy that made the ost of Rome and Medieval, and just a little change of camera, Empire would have been 100% better

The mortars are excellent for sieges you can knock out the wall cannons and then bombard the rest of the enemy inside

I wish i could make Empire work but it had for me the same bug quite a few people reported and never got a fix that is the game becoming extremely blurry like it was doing weird shot with the resolution.

In all seriousness though it's pretty disappointing to say I've lost faith in CA to make a good total war game. They're at the point where they'll remove stuff just to add it back in later as new. Like how weather affects are supposedly this major thing but even back in Napoleon we had muskets misfiring or failing to fire from rain and stuff like that.
I think my only real hope at this point is that the people saying this is just a side game till the next big total war comes out.
