It wasn't a broken string. Scott came in too late and that messes up the whole sequence of the song, especially for Dean banging out the chords. If he'd broken a string, he would have either continued to play regardless or rushed to the guitar tech for another guitar. His body language just says "Fuck this, I give up"
As a musician myself, it's so obvious Scott screwed up not only after Dean's solo, but all throughout this video. Even Robert was looking at him like he was crazy. I also think Dean's aggravation with Scott's drug use played into it as well.
But I found hard to take is the constant public complaining and passive aggressive behavior by the little b**** guitar player. "Wah Scott's ruining my Tour by trying to save his life in a rehab boohoo for me" (1996) Scott was a junkie what was Dean's problem?
No broken string problem, Deleo walked off because Weiland should have come back in at the end of the solo which was at :49 and he didn't come in until :53. Pretty obvious I think.
holy crap. this is pretty neat. love how you caught this on cam!!! still love them no matter what. screwin' up (even though my reason wasn't being lit hahahaha....just me bein' a d-bag) on stage in front of a butt ton of people is EMBARRASSINGGGGGGGGG. yikes.
I dont blame the DeLeos from walking out at all, but god this was funny as shit to watch. From Eric backing him up and the crowd singing along to the little arm wind -up he does at 0:51 like he nailed his part. Poor Scott but this shit was hilarious
Ain't no such thing as a "bit lit" it's like being "a bit pregnant" you either are or you're not. Especially on this tour where Dean and Scott were supposed to be sober which was the whole idea and reason behind this reunion. Oh well to paraphrase another great song...don't expect too much from the wounded. :-/
I've read the book Scott wrote he just sounds like a person that will keep going in circles. Like he said I never stop trying to quit hell just keep getting fucked up think in hell be able to pull it off or it will make him better like smoking a CIG on stage no gonna calm ur nerves and make u better especially if ur drunk already
Damn .....I just feel bad for Scott because this is really sad. I really hope he can overcome his addictions and I hope STP will stick around....they are one of the last true rock n roll greats that are still around.
It's not just that he was high/ drunk/ whatever. He would show up late for shows; would barely talk with them; wouldn't even be in the same room as them when they were recording; would snap any time anyone told him anything bad... No one walks of stage raging just because the singer came in late. It ran a lot deeper than that. Also, not all rockstars are constantly on drugs to the point of not being able to function, nor should we expect them to be or accept it as reality that so many are. We already lost so many to overdoses... do you really want more to die?
Words may be right but Scott was supposed to come in right at the end of the solo and he missed it by a mile! Scott was awesome! Loved that guy! I wish he could have gotten control of his demons! I don’t think the majority of people can understand how difficult that is for some people! We’re all different! Just wished it didn’t end the way it did for Scott! Richard Patrick took a lot of heat for calling it how he saw it. If you don’t know what I’m talking about just do a CZcams Search. In the Richard Patrick was more right then anyone ever could have known! RIP Scott
I think they got a karaoke singer ..hes ok but not the writer that scott was..not even close to the showman.. Not remotely..scott wrote better than this dude being broken down and defeated truthfully and looked more fun 3 days b4 he died..prime weiland was untouchable..gutt tries to mimic broken weiland as opposed to prime weiland which is even worse yet...i gave it a shot tbh. I seen the revolution tour..i seen real stp several times..not even close other than the same songs..no more magic..he fucked up sure. But he was special and irreplaceable..
@@clintonkimmell1696 Agreed. I can't even watch with Gutt. Almost clicked an STP "Atlanta" performance until I saw it was recent. No. Not Atlanta. That was just wrong.
By the time I became a huge STP fan they were no more. Got to see them on their reunion tour though in 2008, saw Weiland with the Wildabouts as well. Both were great shows. I’ve seen them with Gutt twice as well and had a blast at both shows. I’ll agree Weiland was a master and had the crowd eating from his hand from like...’96-‘01 and no one could ever replace him but I think Gutt is a hell of an attempt. Perdida was a great album and completely different from anything STP has ever done. Different strokes though I suppose.
Not true whatsoever. I love Scott to death but at this point and for many years they were dragging him around like a ball on a chain. This isn't them treating him like crap, they couldn't handle his drug habit, period end of story!
Yea. Dean did dope and crack too. And that guy who joined DeLeo brothers and Eric for that band talk show said Dean was a snobbt douche and no wonder Scott got loaded to deal with it
THEY treated HIM like crap? Are we even talking about the same band? He was the one who refused to even sit in the same room with them when they were recording. He was the one who was constantly late for shows. He was the one who disrespected them, the music, and the fans repeatedly. He was the one who acted like he's the only good thing about the band. He was the one who wouldn't talk with them, and apparently didn't even let them have his phone number. I admire these guys' determination and commitment to him, because if I were in their place I would have fired him years before they did, and for far less than what he put them through.

The Guitar player is the biggest cunt. He's not a junkie so his behavior is totally cool with the audience I guess then?
As a musician myself, it's so obvious Scott screwed up not only after Dean's solo, but all throughout this video. Even Robert was looking at him like he was crazy. I also think Dean's aggravation with Scott's drug use played into it as well.
Being a musician “yourself” aided you in reaching that conclusion? Wouldn’t it have been obvious to most anyone familiar with the song?
Wonder if Scott even realized Dean left...lol
Doubt it. Too fucking high on smack as usual.
Did not have a single clue.......
Dude had a earphone, of course he did
@@SimonHallMelbs no he wasnt. Probably drunk
Wow lol
As much as that sucked, Scott singing with what was seemingly just the drums sounded pretty cool.
I was gonna say that was actually a pretty sweet improv to the song. Any other day it would be really awesome
I guess at least he's not lip syncing... wince.. pretty bad, though i've seen them a ton of times when they have killed it.
+reavereft 3 sorry. Don't even remember making that comment. Love STP. Not tons of times. Maybe 10. Sucks he's not with us. Great front man.
Saw them in 09 or 2010 and it was right when he was starting to fall off the wagon.
Not only was he late but he sounded messed-up.I think this was when it was getting hard to take anymore.
But I found hard to take is the constant public complaining and passive aggressive behavior by the little b**** guitar player. "Wah Scott's ruining my Tour by trying to save his life in a rehab boohoo for me" (1996)

Heartbreaking. :/
This said de Leo but I wasn't sure which one since both of them are on stage with Scott
Have some of you never heard this song before?! He (Scott) came in late..whether DeLeo broke a string,I dont know but Scott came in late.
It looks like Dean's stage exit could've been part of the performance arrangement, whether Scott erred, or not.
was this in milwaukee?
@mabby821 Naw, he came in a measure late.
Mmm... Gets pizzed? 🤤🍕

@mabby821 nah... he came in late by 3 measures
1 measure. But wtf diff does it make
I agree with Matt Mabe in comments
Oh stop f'ing with Scott
Milk blood to keep from...
Runnin out.
He fell off the wagon again

Wow.. that's just... wow
The sound wasn't the greatest on here but I liked it any how.

Well he sounded great..

nuke97 I wish your hopes would've come true... :(
Nuke, are you still alive?
Crazy seeing comments like this...
I think he broke a string.
I would have enjoyed being Weiland's guitarist or bassist, even while he was fked up on stage.
That's the Rockstar life. What more could you ask for?
actually...scott was the song writers singer...the deleos wrote all this...then chester showed us all how its done...
It's not just that he was high/ drunk/ whatever.

@@banjominer9682 Chester shoulda stayed with Lp he damn sure sucked as a pilot
Scott still being alive.
hahahahaha
I don't get it.......Scott didn't fuck up there. It sounds like the words are right and he came in at the right spot at the end of the solo. WTF?
You can't be serious...

What, performing with a legendary frontman? You’re right.
They treated Scott like crap from day 1.
