The way things are explained here is just wrong. Lately, we saw the rise of France's extreme right, which basically says that making ships sink in the Mediterranean Sea would help French people. In response to that, we first had an alliance between all the lefts (which includes some far left) and to which Emmanuel Macron does not belong at all. And then there was this "second round." Usually, this second round opposes the two political parties that arrived in front, but sometimes a third one can be represented too. (Also, elections happen per region, each different region will elect someone different to be represented in the government). In the case of 3 parties, the party of Emmanuel Macron and the new left party asked their representatives in every region (if they are the third one and the far right arrives with more votes) to withdraw their application in order to disallow the far extreme to get more power. (This works because if people can vote far extreme right or something else, there is still more than 50% that do not vote far extreme. If the "something else" is divided in 2, each one gets half of the votes of those who do not vote far extreme right and it may get the lead). The thing about the alliance between Macron and the left is only said by Marine Le Pen. Macron and the left actually disagree on a lot of things

As someone who like going to France every couple of years, thank you for not going. Maybe you can go instead to China or maybe North Korea, this year, I heard that Pyongyang is a wonderful place for tourists to go especially this time of the year.

I am French and live abroad. I voted Rn for first round. I can attest that during the second round of elections, millions of people living outside France were faced with only 2 parties to choose from : All of them either LEFTIST Parties such Nouveau Front National or Renaissance or a combination of.. we were NOT given any possibility of supporting the Right for the Second Round! In other words, for all those French people living abroad who may have wished to support the Right, they were not GIVEN the CHOICE!This is how the French State cheated the French so they could remain in power! I am absolutely furious and disgusted!! By the way, the RN is not ‘FAR’ Right as many news agencies keep calling them. European countries are being ravaged and stripped of their values, way of life and sovereignty thanks to the European Union, starting with Merkel who opened the floodgates to millions of undocumented migrants and so called ‘asylum seekers’ including many other damaging policies. My heart breaks for France 💔😢 I feel sick to my stomach to see my native land deteriorating year by year…

France had some very good enlisted troops that were a very formidable force. That performed with bravery and skill. Unfortunatly alot of them met their death by the hands of corrupt and incompetent officers and especially politicians.
