    I got tears in my eyes when Dr. Peikoff started tearing up at 37:50, while he was quoting from Galt's speech, and later when he was retelling Miss Rand's final moments. I'd give anything to be able to have met her.

    I found the Ford Hall Forum lectures of Leonard Peikoff on ARI channel but the reason it’s not gaining views is the way they’re named and the thumbnails. The way it’s put nobody would click on a video that have ford hall forum in the beginning before the subject. Regarding the thumbnails, it should show Dr. Peikoff’s face on all or most of the lectures.

    Why does Leonard's videos always have so much gulping, swallowing, and throat clearing? I have a problem with these things.

    Can you believe in God and be an objectivist? Amy example or talks about that

      You cannot believe in something and be objective about it too. That's a contradiction. If it is an object you can know it objectively. If the criteria of god is that it is not an object and cannot be known means it doesn't fit into objectivism.

      Yes, you can. Even though Ayn Rand may not agree, you can be an objectivist as long as you distinguish between beliefs and knowledge. If you have a knowledge that your faith in God is not a knowledge but just a belief and that, in the same reason, atheism is not a knowledge but a belief, then you can be an objectivist. God is an entity that is beyond human knowledge. To declare that God exists or does not exist, therefore, is not a knowledge but a belief.

      @@socrateos No. You cannot be "objective" and believe in an objectless entity. That is a contradiction. Objectivism cannot sanction irrationality.

      The realm of objectivism is within the reach of human knowledge. Something, such as God, that is not within a reach of human knowledge is beyond the reach of obectivism. Objectivism stays silent where it has no authority.

    • @ExistenceUniversity
      @ExistenceUniversity Před 4 lety +1

      @@socrateos That is the exact reason you cannot be an objectivist and have faith. If it is "outside" of human knowledge, then nothing about it can interact with reality. Objectivism states that it is possible to disprove God because of that very reason
