Thank you for all the support!
I found a new carb for atc klt on e bay new for 52bucks
Lol, your just North of me. I bet we have competed over the same pieces of equipment on FB Marketplace lol.
@@michaelbiel7473 I bought one from another guy, but thank you!
You need an electric impact they have plenty of balls for those stubborn bolts I have a old school craftsman and no bolt is safe from it lol. The things a beast fr.
Yes.. very good deal. This one is worth putting money into. Not that it needs much lol. And did that come stock with the fox shocks? Bc I thought I seen the front say fox also when u looked at them. Also when you turned it over by hand I thought I herd one of the cams spring back. Usually happens when timing chain is loose, but it appears to be extremely tight, witch is a bad thing also. Good luck on this one and looking forward to the next video..
There is 2 TDC. Make sure you're on compression stroke.
The motor is at TDC on the exhaust stroke. Rotate the crankshaft 360 degrees to be at TDC on the compression stroke.
I was going to say the same thing. It would save bit of work if it ain't required! 👍
Don't forget there is 2 top dead centres on a 4 stroke engine. Compression and exhaust. It can look if the timing is 180 out if you are on the wrong TDC.
You are right, this kid has a lot to learn.
I was thinking the same thing. He’s not on the compression stroke.
He will catch on some day
He wont listen. Ive given up telling him anything. I think he likes stretching the content out
@@backyardbangers1012 I think he takes help as a criticism. He had so much stick over the 250 trials bike and almost quitting, he either thinks people are critical or he doesn't read the comments.
Hey joe you still got the predator 500 you & Charlie should do a race with the predator vs. Outlaw battle of the 500's
I saw it on marketplace
They're the same engine, so the lighter predator should win
Edit* I forgot the predator is stock engine wise, so outlaw will get the win.
Dude that is not a 500 to 525 outlaw what it is search it up guys Tonya
@@bradleeknight1785 no it's not. The 2006 outlaws still used the same engine as the predators. The ktm engine wasn't used until 2007. It even looks exactly the same as his predator. You're the one that needs to research.
Good to see you getting a couple Polaris sport quads. Both the Predator and Outlaw 500 are pretty underrated sport quads in my opinion. As for the one way bearing going out due to the high compression piston, I don't think that's the issue as I know a guy who builds these motors with well over a 13:1 compression ratio. I believe the problem is the ProCom cdi that was installed, it's not retarding the timing causing the one way bearing to spin the wrong direction. Stick with the stock cdi, the only aftermarket ones you should consider are Vortex or Dynatek and they are almost impossible to find now. Keep up the good work and I hope to see more Predator and Outlaw videos.
you're between the intake and exhaust strokes on the timing, turn the crankshaft around one turn to get on TDC compression.
He wont listen to ya. I told him 3 times about broken woodriff key equals bent valves a few project bikes ago . Then it was like he went out of his way to prove me wrong and wasted his time trying absolutely everything else first. I was thinking he might like stretching out the builds for maximum content. He couldn't be that ignorant surely.
Its called overlap and alot of people dont understand if he took the cams out it wouldent matter he could start fresh or turn the motor over one more time
I would say that the high compression is putting more pressure on the one way bearing and therefore causing it to fail
The tension spring was broke and piece was rubbing 30:13 you can see the scoring. Broken spring missing section 30:39.
Yea, the design of that one way bearing is more than likely gonna fail every time with high compression piston, just cant take it
Damn things are ugly.. looks like the predator got punched hard in the face.
And the rear shocks look like it was rear ended
You’re one of the few I subscribe to that the ads don’t bother me so much. But man do I hate the constant ads.
I’ve learned so much from you just by watching your channel. I love how you explain the problems in detail, that’s extremely key and that’s why I’ve tuned into your channel.
Keep up the awesome work. Watching you from Michigan.
Don't take for granted what is shown. He does a lot wrong and doesn't even realise he doesn't make a mistake. You are better off watching mustie1 videos or Samodel. They know what they are doing.
just finished a 2009 525 outlaw with KTM RFS engine, they come stock with fox podium shocks
Love your videos I just bought my 2006 Polaris Outlaw for $1300 she runs great just needs new axles. This video helped me learn alot thanks.
I love outlaws there sweet quads, this one is loaded with mods & pretty nice quad, nice fine awesome video man keep up the good finds & good work 👍
I had one of those Craftsman air impacts and it lasted for years and years. My brother in law always borrowed it too. Nice fix on the one way bearing that saved you some money.
You said it looked like the cams were a 180 out. on a 4 stroke they rotate at half the crank speed. Rotate the engine again and see where the timing marks are then.
I think one cam is 180 out. He said they both point the same way. Hard to tell when your not looking at it yourself but I was thinking the same. But he should in fact at least test this.
@@benjamindavidson632 I was thinking the way the marks on the timing gears sounded sound off the 180 out but maybe I miss heard.
I learn a lot from your videos thanks man👍
nearly 2 minutes in and it’s already a beast
Totally forgot all about these quads. They are mean lookin that's for sure. Like a transformer or something. Should be able to time this up n.p. after dealing with the predator 😆😎
Looks badass mate look forward to hearing and see it perform 👍🔧🔧🔧😉
I had one same year 06 and it’s nothing but a problem that’s why u got it for under $1000 bucks the guy knows there’s more then just the starter wrong with it
That’s awesome bro !!! I can’t wait to see that one go. See if it pulls the front off the ground on asphalt in third gear!!! Awesome find doggy!!!!
I cannot wait until this big bore beast runs I'll definitely be waiting for the next video.😎
Another great fix and flip 💪🏻
That's a awesome four wheeler
Bro that is super nice makes me jealous can’t even lie
I heard with the polaris predator the hot cams actually take away power
Take it back to stock. That's gonna be your best bet!
Same motor as your Predator FYI!
Heck yeah I love Polaris outlaws
Nice find, I see valve hit stock piston probbably intake side? 2:41.. Motor might be on exhaust stroke to have timing marks off. turn it over till its top dead after one rotation to intake stroke
OHHHHHHHH MYYYYY GOOOODDDNEESSS!!! HE GOT ONE ESSGETIT!!! I own this quad and love it, mines modded pretty similar to yours, really amazing machine in my experience and super reliable, just make sure you use the pure polaris oil and nothing else, I think a preddy vs outlaw is gonna be in order....
Finally I have a 07 outlaw 525irs your going to love it you should keep it
Almost bought it, he said it wouldn’t even start with a pop start so I passed good luck u will get it
I'm looking at an 2006 outlaw 500 with independent rear.
You got your money and more just in the aftermarket parts on it...good find..its just one of those lucky finds that you just have to buy.....
Looking forward to it see ya on next vid .godbless and stay safe
Whaaaaat. I was just thinkin itd be cool if u got an outlaw!!!
Your channel is really growing
Keep it up
13:10 motor mount frame bracket is, you know, kind of...detached. Strange you didn't comment on that. Sweet quad for certain.👍🏼
My brother in law had one, awesome quads
Heck yeah man I knew you would get one
I had one several years ago. It is an awesome quad. The only thing i didn't like was the rear inside rubber cv boots - they are not pleated so they don't normaly last long. It ran really strong. I only sold it because i went to a side x side (900 razor).
Here we'll suggest it again a vise grip chain wrench. You can wrap flywheel with duct tape so not too scratch it. Lock chain wrench on fly wheel, put end against foot peg so can remove flywheel nut with normal breaker bat
First like and comment keep up the good work man I love your videos I’ve been here since 500 subscribers
The bike is in time . You are 180 out with the flywheel . Fly wheel turns twice to the cams one turn . If u rotate the crank 1 revolution back to the TDC mark you will see the cams in the correct position. It is good to go as it sits
These are really cool bikes. Also like a 700xx.
Wen you sell it you should include those parts that'd be awesome for the guy who wants to rip it every weekend or day I know there going on your website but still love the content your learning a lot good job
180° out on tdc mate full revolution back to tdc on crank
too much compression is hard on cheap one way bearings have a 99 polaris sport 400 and when i got done building it had so much compression kept blowin head gaskets and eventually crank seals have to make sure to buy oem not cheap aftermarket
He said we are going to go to Menards but in the mean time lets check out the cams ... I need to learn how to send myself somewhere and then in the mean time do some work! lol ... That would be awesome!
Hey big fan. Love you're videos. When are you going to do Suzuki LTZ 400
With the high compression piston you need to run higher octane fuel, if the last owner was just running 87 it could've been hard to start due to the pre ignition.
Defo gonna run mate quality bike tho 👊🏻👊🏻👊🏻👊🏻
Those ktm motors were very noisy anyway. But completely 180 degrees out of time! Lol that would be odd if the key broke.😂
What a score 👍🏼
Keeps breaking that bearing cause it’s kicking back from that high compression piston I would put stock back and stage one cams if u want it to be dependable if u race then leave it
Awsome quad😀
My buddy rode a wheelie for a half mile on an oultaw back in 2012.
I like your "make-do" attitude.
there’s a cheap fix you can do with a fork seal spring to cure that bearing problem, it’s a common problem on ktm four strokes, you just need to get the correct size.
You can use two base gaskets to lower the compression a touch.
Dont tell me anyone checked their phone after hearing the Ebay notification. Lmao
Haha I do the same thing when I'm editing the video
Day I cant remember asking you to get another 400ex
High compression probably what took out the starter clutch
the scratching is because they had a issue because the bolds on the back of the flywheel back off and get all beat up from those gears
I like the Polaris Outlaw but the ones the 525's because they have a ktm engine.
Hey joe hope all is well and good and your family are well, have you thought of getting a ATK 700 intimidator
1000$ that is a steal
I've heard that aftermarket cdi's are known for killing one-way bearings. When they kick back it takes out the one way. You may want to throw in that stock cdi.
Yeah im going to
polaris always has problems ive seen like 40 roll into the shop since the new one came out can am is a better choice cant wait to see u fix another can am and hopfully you dont have to at the same time
day 1 asking you to get a yz250f for the next project
If there is to much compression just add base gaskets had to do it on my ltr 450 it ran on race fuel had 4 base gaskets on it to lower the compression
awesome video
U got a hell of a deal
One way bearing, known to auto transmission guys as a roller clutch or “sprag” I would hit up an auto trans place and see if you can find one that is stronger that fits
""What is in the back of the truck right there"". JUNK especially all the numinam parts
For that price that’s a crazy find I got one for 500$ but it was trash
U got paperwork for it? Its in really nice shape with alot of mods for that price....guy even left his license plate on it n it was last reggy in 2017....
The outlaw's are siiiiiiiiik
Missing a bolt in the cam cover
Brand used bearing 👌
You should invest in a Milwaukee m18 1/2 inch or 3/8 gun
The headlight pod looks like a hockey goalie mask.
I had a Cagiva w16 that blew out 3 new sprag clutches. Thing would run fine for a while then for no good reason you could hear the sprag catching. Eventually it would catch hard and blow out the bearings like on this quad. If it's already on sprag clutch number 2 I'd put money on it catching while it's running and it will break again.
Outlaw 525 omg bro you are the man!!!
Sadly, it's not a 525 with the ktm engine. It's a 2006 outlaw so it's the one with the same motor as the predator 500s
@@racequad9 wow I never knew that they did that! I always thought the outlaw was a 525
@@stopibeastin7196 just for 1 year they did
I bet ya if the timing was 180 out that would cause all the issues you could relate to the high compression piston
Hi Joe sorry I missed out here now yeeeeeeew
Wow. Got it for a great price
Turn the engine over 360 degrees and the cam timing marks will line up, cams are 180 degrees out because you didnt put the engine on compression stroke.
16:51 I heard it fire 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
i bet that the high comp piston is making that one-way bearing go out.
the nerf bars are pure polaris its like yahama gytr and those tires are stock so i bet it has very low miles
I always want one of those atv
They made a 525 as well, it had a ktm motor in it I think.
I see one thing that’s wrong with it...... poorlairs! 😖😔
These are likely the most reliable Polaris out there. Maybe? I don't believe they actually build the engines.
I believe the 500 engines are made by Fugi as where all their engines. 525 engines were KTM and I think are more desirable. I think Polaris builds all their own engines in house now.
You never gotta change the chain tension cause it never moved unlike an ordinary rear end quad
Your one-way bearing is called a sprag clutch or just sprag!
Hey bro I know it's been a year. And you most likely flip this Polaris. But yea that procom ECU that the guy told you to put the stock piston back in. I put one of those procom Ecu\cdi on my raptor 660 and had to go back to stock I had nothing but problems.
You should get a 4 wheeler and go muddding
U stole that bike for that price good find
