Great options man! Love the affordable spin because these things can get EXPENSIVE. Of all the ones on the list, I’m really digging the Ascend 133x. The open cockpit and pre wiring makes it really attractive for the price.
Great job 👏🏽
Agreed. My buddy Jon Wittie really likes his and it’s just like the Dorado where’s it’s basically plug and play. Thanks for watching and inspiring me my guy!🤘🏼
We have a different idea of budget friendly 😂
That’s absolutely fine! I felt like these were great options for the brand new price. Consider searching around the pre owned market for better deals just beware of what your buying. Thanks for stopping and watching!
Yeah bro I was thinking more like 400 bucks lmao
@@Dobyifyable I hate to break it to ya but your options will be limited. I can do some searching and find a list of them for around $500 and put them together if your interested.
@@Dobyifyablegood luck lmao
400 dollars geez do you have any knowledge of the kayak market right now. 400 😂 cmon man
Great video man! I really enjoyed this video and I liked how you added videos and pictures of the kayaks while you were talking about them! I love my FeelFree Lure kayak
Thanks for stopping and watching! It took me a lot of time to narrow the list down to 5 but I feel like these are all great boats for the big dudes. Take care bro!
Those are all nice kayaks! You're making me want to upgrade!! Thank you for sharing my friend and Good luck with everything!
Thanks a lot for stopping and always watching my videos Mark! It means a ton brother!🤘🏼 if you have any questions just ask!
@@TheOutdoorConquest Thank you!!
Great video. You do really good tutorial videos. That was crazy watching a kayak with an outboard motor on it. Kayak’s have come a long way
Thanks a lot Rich! I put a lot of time and research into this one. Really hoping it helps some people out there. The kayak game is growing and is red hot right now and for the foreseeable future I feel.
Excellent video, buddy.
I’m glad you included the CATCH PWR because the more I read about it the more I want it.
I understand the downsides that come with it as far as positioning, but I’m borderline dead today from all the paddling I did yesterday while watching another buddy who had the CATCH PWR fly all over the lake.
Great list for the other four as well. The stability on that Ascend is INSANE!!!
Thanks for watching! Consider the extra costs for the PWR 100. I’d recommend a 100am lithium battery. Plus a motor decent motor so your looking at another $500.
As opposed to a pedal driven which with minimal effort can get you around the lake pretty fast and efficiently without the need of a battery and motor.
Perception outlaw 11.5
is definitely the best kayak for big guys. I love how you say budget friendly kayaks.
Thanks for stopping and watching! These are definitely in my opinion budget friendly options considering the rising costs of fishing kayaks x
I had the 3 waters big fish 108 as my 1st own kayak. I had to sale it, and get a old town 106 pdl, because the big fish was to heavy to Jeep top for me... Man but that big fish108 is a beast of a kayak 💯. Awesome job on the video, and opinions you put together brother 🤝🏼.
That was one of my favorite yaks bro. I still miss it! It would be best to trailer it BUT I did fight it into the truck bed when I had it. I appreciate you taking the time to watch and leave a comment as always my guy!🤘🏼
I'm a large human, horizontally speaking , at the moment I'm hovering around 280 (shut up I'm working on it) and I'm 5' 10''. I just picked up the Pelican catch pwr 100 yesterday...Max capacity is 415 so 280 + battery which is around 60 that's 340 so that puts it at 75 pounds below the weight limit, now add gear, anker and motor after everything I'm thinking it will be closer to around 40-50 pounds away from the weight limit...That's cutting it a lot closer than I would normally be comfortable with. I'm going to have the seat slide pretty much all the way back so hopefully that will help with the weight displacement.
I just switched from a pond prowler 8' to the catch pwr 100 because the pond prowlers are all defective and will get water in them with no way to drain it out (which I knew that before spending $650 on it last year). This is my first Kayak and tomorrow will be the test run...wish me luck boys
Good luck and stay safe! Keep me posted!
Thanks for adding me in your video!
Thanks for not having an issue with it brother! 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
My issue is with peddle drives in my belly gets in the way, I went with the Perception 11.5 which was recommended to me for being a short round guy lol. Only issue I find is reaching behind me to get tackle or a new rod. Maybe down the road if I decide to upgrade and loose some more weight, I may look into one of your recommendations for sure. Great video.
Thanks for stopping and watching! I have a similar problem…not a big gut but I’m 6’3” tall and it’s hard to move around in these kayaks without jeopardizing safety and stability. I’d definitely consider the Big Fish 108 to almost anyone and everyone. It’s the perfect kayak for comfort and stability. I’m currently in the Dorado which is really nice but not as stable as the big fish 108.
Great video bro. I think whenever I update my yak I’ll get the durado that thing is just a beast
You won’t ever need another one. If I upgrade to the new dorado next year I’ll be sure to let you know about my current one first. Appreciate you watching bro!🤘🏼
@@TheOutdoorConquestbro that would be awesome. Definitely keep me updated lol
@@dkinfishing for sure
I have the pelican pwr 100- i love it
That’s awesome! It seems like an awesome boat! Thanks for watching!
The Crescent lite tackle 2 maybe should have made that list. Its a paddle driven kayak but its priced right for about 1200. Great video bud
I think I’m going to do an updated version of this one come springtime. Thanks a lot for stopping, watching and leaving the comment I truly appreciate it!🤘🏼
Nice vid! That Ascend is a battleship.
Thanks a lot for watching! I appreciate it!🤘🏼
Off hand, do you remember how tall the hull of the 108 is? I have a camper van conversion with the 'garage' being 28" tall where I put windsurf gear.
I don’t know that answer. BUT I’d recommend calling 3 waters or Feel free and they should get you an answer really quick. Thanks a lot for stopping and watching!
I'm undecided between the Ascend 133x or the Pelican Catch 100..we'll see...
Thanks for watching!
I need this video. I’m 6’3, 265lbs and wanted to get a kayak that will fit me just right. I want to start fishing kayak tournaments and hittin St. Clair and some of our other lakes here in southeast Michigan.
Thanks for watching bro! I’m telling you go with the 3 Waters Big Fish 108 YOU WILL NOT BE LET DOWN. Hope to see you out there man! Have a great weekend!
Only if you want to keep it under 2k tho. If you are looking to spend more there are a TON of options but they can get pricy!
To all my big brethren out there, I’ve had both the big fish 108 and now the Nucanoe Unlimited. Spend the extra money and get the unlimited, you won’t be disappointed. I’m 300+ and can stand up in it without even thinking about it.
Nice!
Well really they are the same price
@@AuburnMan does unlimited come with a pedal drive?
You can easily add one if you would like. But as an angler with a gut, I found not only peddling while trying to fish not fun but my height along with the angle the big fish puts you at makes peddling well, suck.
@@AuburnMan that’s why I got rid of my pedal drive. I’m very tall and it was giving me hip and back pain. They’re also just in the way
Good options! I am in a unique situation. I have hobie PA 14. But now have a bulging disc so trying to be careful with lifting (putting yak on suv) and hauling to launch site. Right now i trailer it. I am looking for something light enough for putting on suv but comfortable for tall guys like myself (6'4"). Any ideas or suggestions would be helpful. Ive seen some pescador 12 pro's with seat height mod but not sure how that affects stability or if it makes it too top heavy. Thanks
Why do you want out of the PA 14?? In my opinion trailering is the best option if you have the tow vehicle (which it seems like you do). I’d personally skip the car topping if your back is jacked….
My affordable is like 500 to 1000. Definitely Not 1500 but nice video and thank you for sharing. 🤘🏼🇺🇸
I’m working on that unbiased list now and will be uploading a video soon! Thanks a lot for stopping and watching!
I have a paddle driven Feelfree Moken. I would love to get a pedal drive kayak. But the issue I have is the amount of cypress stumps we have on the lake i primarily fish. I have lost count of the times I’ve ran over stumps while paddling. Would hate to damage the drive.
That makes a good point. The drives are very durable though. The props are strong and the sheer pins do their job to keep from damaging the prop or drive. I’ve slammed into some things pretty hard
@@TheOutdoorConquestthank you for your feedback. I know that Old Town PDL is pretty durable from I’ve read. I would like to get the Feelfree 13.5 pedal drive or the Big fish with the pedal drive.
What are you thoughts on the sundolphin boss 12 ss angler sit on?
That one looks pretty dang nice for the price! I think I included that one in my kayaks for under $1000 video if I remember right
Thanks for watching!
Another one for list Seastream Angler 120 PD 12’ 3” long 35” wide 400 lbs $1299. Same parent company as the Big Fish. To heavy for my tastes but a lot of good reviews on CZcams. Different subject any thoughts on fin drive vs prop drive?
My buddy Darius fishes off that boat I believe and he really likes it. He’s not a big dude but I feel it could handle on no problem. I know people really like fin drives I’ve personally never fished with one I’ve only done propeller. I like the ability to be able to pedal backwards or forward instantaneously. I know they’re advancing the fin drives to be capable of this also but I’m not that keen on them. One advantage would be going into shallow weedy cover but I rarely find myself there and if I do I just life my pedal drive and paddle. Thanks for watching and the comment!
Brother, I loved the video but I wish you would have included the 41 inch wide super stable NuCanoe Frontier 12. I don't know why everyone overlooks this made in USA kayak.
Thanks a lot for watching! I will have to include that one in a future video. I’ve got a list of different styles and price ranges based off the feedback I get from the comment section. So for that I also say THANK YOU
What about the BKC 11.5 pro single $978 it's under $1000
I did another video recently for kayaks under 1000 and I believe that one made the list. Thanks for watching!
I wanna party with that dude in yer thumbnail LOL!
I’m sure he likes to party!
Can these kayaks also handle light river rapids?
Without a doubt they could handle light current. Thanks for watching!
Well I'm a big dude and I'm looking at a nucanoe. F12 and the unlimited both under $1800 84lb carry 700lbs
I’m not familiar with those. 84lb kayak and carrying 700 lbs seems offset to me. An 84lb yak should normally fall in that 400-500lb limit range from all my research. This is interesting. Thanks for watching
I retired last year I'm going to get my first kayak and Im 267 ponds best kayak for me up to $1000
Hey John! Congratulations on retirement! Thanks a it for watching the video! If you scroll through some of my recent videos I actually uploaded one that is a nice long list of “the best kayaks for $1000 or less”. Check it out! I’m sure you’ll find one you like in that list!
I’m about your size and looking at the kayak you own behind you.
That is the Feel Free Dorado 125 V2! Check out my videos on it. Great boat! Thanks for watching!
Only 1 im really looking at is the ascend 113x
My buddy is a big dude and I can’t imagine a much better boat. He loves it. Thanks for stopping and watching!🤘🏼🤘🏼
Check out the Wilderness Recon
I will definitely do that! Thanks a lot for stopping and watching! I appreciate it!
How do you feel about the big fish 103
I’ve personally fished out of it and it’s a great kayak also. It’s the “little brother” to the 108. The 108 is much deeper and taller that’s why I chose this one for the list. Either would be a great option but I will always recommend the 108 first. Thanks for watching!
Are there any good kayaks under $600? Ya know, for that "first timer" that wants to try it out?
I know there definitely is AND you just inspired me to do some research and create another video for kayaks under 1k. Thanks a lot for stopping and watching🤘🏼
Lifetime Yukon , Teton or Tamarack pro are affordable
👍👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks for watching!
Which one will fit plus size 22 wide butt women haul 400lbs
If I had to pick one it would be an old town sportsman or big fish 108
Hoodoo and BKC kayaks weight capacity is overrated. Figure about 50% less weight capacity than they state.
Good to know. I think a lot of them are in the industry honestly. One thing people have to consider is that the weight of the kayak has to be subtracted from the capacity more times than not. Thanks for stopping and watching!
Hey it’s Zeke… dude am I really that big 😂
What’s up bro! Well I’m not all that big but I was comparing you to me and your bigger than me😂. I didn’t mean it in a bad way bro! Hope all is well we need to get the yaks out on Orion!🤘🏼
😂😂
Anyone watching this video who doesn’t know Zeke would think that he was topping 3 bills.
You did him dirty 😂😂😂
@@TheMichiganFisherman did not
Affordable would be $500 in this day in age. I just dont believe in being scammed over plastic.
I actually did another video of really good options for less than $1000. Thanks for watching!
Im a broke bum but i could save 1500 for a kayak
Do it!!
I thought affordable was under $1000 😅
I’ve gotten a lot of comments similar to this. I’m going to generate new lists of my top pedal drive and paddle driven yaks in a couple different price ranges. If I remember this list was all under $2000
Supposed to be for big guys but shows a skinny kid in the boat
Skinny kid BUT great display of its capabilities.
All of those aren’t budget friendly lol
In the world of fishing kayaks these really are affordable for what your getting. Sure you can spend 500-1000$ but you will be lacking features that are great to have in a kayak strictly for fishing.
