This is a very valuable remark, the hairstyle should suit the whole figure, not just the face. Unfortunately, hardly any hairdresser pays attention to this.
I have to wear short pixie because my hair is babyfine and thin. And i am SN and curvy. I know, that longer hair would suit me better. I have tried and not succeed. I have no other option. 🤷♀️. Luckily this Lady CAN do what she wants.
I’m a soft dramatic and I always feel my head looks a bit tiny compared to my body and I’ve never been overweight but rather slim but curvy. Now I understand why I’ve never felt comfortable in certain clothes or hairstyles.
Interesting. The first time I saw Morena Baccarin was in V (2009) TV series. And I had never seen a woman look so spectacular with a cropped do. She was literally perfect. I'm a Soft Dramatic, and for years my hair looked just like hers - cropped, and I was constantly complimented over the same. My hair is now voluminous. I find Kibbe very confusing sometimes.
Its probably "remarkable" because it stands out as separate. And people want to say something. People sometimes give out compliments when its really just noticing something that stands out. Not necessarily because it really suits
@@caravanrose interesting point but idk, I follow her on IG and have seen various styles on her and that hair cut was just stunning on her, not just coz it was different/edgy…
It also may work adding some drama or contrast: high ponytail (a la Ariana Grande) / darker hair / bold lipstick. Just look at Monica Bellucci in Matrix.
@@Dan_Chiron she did look amazing in the Matrix. Contrast definitely helps. It may depend on individual face shape and additional essences. Monica's face is more balanced to compact, and her facial flesh tends toward width/roundness. She also has Dramatic-Romantic essence (SD through and through). My face is more linear and my facial flesh tends more toward an elongated cheek so high ponytails and slicked back styles only further elongate making things look imbalanced. My first essence is Ethereal (E-R-D), so I have a higher need for soft curving lines that move downward. I have found if I do a side part with a low ponytail, and bring the ponytail over my shoulder it helps a lot. Also big/long earrings help frame the face and mirror the softer lines. Having good makeup (per your archetype and essence) and your correct colors really makes everything better, even if the hair isn't ideal.
Me too but I think the goal with Kibbe typing what’s “better” is actually just more harmonious like nothing is over emphasized or sticking out. Like accessories and hair and makeup r supposed to be second skin rather than a statement piece if you’re styling with what’s “best” for your lines
Can you give some tips for shorter hairstyles on naturals? For different hair types, if possible? All I ever see recommended is long, tousled hair and that just doesn't work for everyone. I mean, I at least have the right hair type in principle...thick and dense and wavy. I can't imagine, what people with thin, straight hair are to do here. But I also need to look somewhat polished for work - a wild, open mane or long hair in a tousled bun or such just isn't an option anymore. I have a longbob with lots of layers right now, which I usually blowdry, because it looks too 'unkempt' air dried. But I would love suggestions for shorter alternatives. It needs to look like I made an effort, but not too boring and tidy.
That's something I'd love to see in a video too. I love short hair (anything from a short bob to a short pixie, also mullets) but don't fully understand which short hair cut suits which type, not even mine. What looks good on the face can still look off compared to the body. My hair often looks too neat for my overall look, depending on the cut and the way I style it. I wear my hair very textured, but I think the length might be not the right for my body type. Whenever my hair gets too long for my liking, I feel uneasy and sometimes even agressive. I hate the feeling of long hair even though I like the look of it. I thought it was due to my rather fine hair texture but even when I got extensions, I just kept them up and felt off.
This is great and helped me to understand why a short hairstyle suits my face but just looks bizarre when I’m looking at myself full length. More soft dramatic tips PLEASE. I really think it’s one of the hardest body types to style in this modern era. Lots of modern styles just can’t work, like the everything oversized vibe etc. It’s too easy as an SD to look frumpy and dumpy if you get your styling wrong. Or like an oversized twelve year old if you wear something gamine. Also being diva chic 24/7 isn’t realistic. I love the shorts you’ve done using celebs of different kibble types and some mistakes they have made with fashion and makeup and how to do that better. Would just LOVE more for SD’s. I feel like it’s easier for all the other types so they don’t need it as much (Haha just being selfish really!) Edit was for a typo.
I agree! It's so hard. For me, I have this really voluptuos body, but a tiny baby face. It's really hard to not look frumpy or vulgar, especially with a child like face. More SD content!
@@karinandersson6896 I have begun to think this is a thing for SD’s. The voluptuous body with a soft gamine face as I’ve run into this comment a lot on kibbie forums. @@South_Heat @Petitechofleur well, I don't really have a cutesie gamine face, but more of a romantic one.
