🙋🏼 ABOUT ME: Hi guys! My name is Alyona. I was born in Russia. I'm a musician. And I love art, makeup, fashion, style and beautiful environments. I love playing with makeup and fashion, but at the same time, I’m quite a minimalistic person. I don't like the idea of being fixated on the body too much. I have an alternative and unconventional viewpoint on beauty, the body types and face shapes. I love helping other women find their "it" and finally discover their beauty and boost their confidence.
I have several series on my channel that you might be interested in such as: Body Types, Contouring, Makeup History and Makeup Transformations. Also some random beauty hacks about skin care, hair, nails and beauty in general.

Hey Aly - thank you so much for your wonderful and very interesting videos. I still have a problem to figur out which body type i am. What type would you guess girls, that have thin and long legs and arms, but the waist area is disproportionately wide? That's what i have. Unless i go jogging and work on my leg muscels, that's when my belly goes away. But other than that my loooong legs don't seem to have any muscels, while my waist is really wide. Like the size of my bottom is XS, whereas the size of my upper body is S or M. Also my torso looks shorter than my legs by comparison. (I'm 168 cm.)

    • @LiMishka
      @LiMishka Před 3 lety

@Eshita Shukla Thank you for your personal assessment. I just googled how much 168 cm in US-Size means. Apparently i'm 5'6. I don't think i'm dramatic either, because my bones are reather thin and light. I was very underweigt as i child. People even used to think i had some kind of illness, which ofcourse wasn't the case, i just was very energetic and moved a lot.

    • @LiMishka

@Eshita Shukla i’m russian :) my shoulders are not realy sharp, but also not petit like Alys for example. I have some edgyness to my face even though its reather round than oval. Can That be That i am Natural? Or classic but with wider/straight waist 😁?
I guess i get most compliments when wearing short simple dresses.

i think the issue is the language and examples. "yang" originally has quite masculine undertones in mandarin, and linking it with a lack of obvious curves, and using tilda swinton as an example can maks people think that way. it took me a long time to accept i was a dramatic but seeing more diverse examples of dramatics (narrow and long but still somehow curvy) helped a lot!

Thank you Aly. Sometimes it can be hard for us tall girls/women to feel feminine because being tall is usually associated with being masculine in many peoples eyes. Unfortunately many women who are tall get bullied or called men simply because of their height.
This is why a lot of us can be insecure and overcompensate by dressing more “feminine” or acting in a girly way because we feel that in order to be a woman you must look dainty and physically be smaller.
But like you said, femininity is not how you dress nor your appearance.
Also a lot of Kibbe videos tend to use the same type of examples (like Keira knightly) to describe dramatics when there are many more woman that can be portrayed.
Anyways I’m glad you talked about this. Great video❤️.

Great video, finally confirmed that I’m a dramatic, not soft dramatic. Unlike most previous examples of dramatics these three women have a bust larger than an A cup. And long flowing hair, not short or slicked back looks. I think a lot of Kibbe videos emphasize masculine fashion looks for dramatics simply because they are the only type that can pull it off. Just because we can, doesn’t mean we have to wear a man-tailored suit everywhere. In my case I prefer medium to long pencil skirts or narrow dresses with no waist emphasis, which can ruin the long line of the look.

Hey Little history lesson here: the actual moment when women’s cloth became (stayed) very opulent and men’s more and more “modest” was around 1790-1850. Due to industrialization and new work environments for men. Women from higher society became a even bigger status symbol for their husbands and families. Before that just aristocrats could afford to maintain an expensive wardrobe. Even men were running around like peacocks. This all died out with the belle Epoche 1910. The 50s with the new look was actually are revival of this antiquated ideas. The idea is, the more your wife looks well “maintained” and feminine (because she is not working and just taking care of herself) the more money you are bringing home and the bigger your status. Hope it makes sense.

Amazing video, thank you! Would be cool to see this 3-women-style for each type! In a context of masculinity, Flamboyant Natural seems like a good next as not only sharpness but more muscular structure often leans that way - I am a FN and it would be really inspiring to see some examples like here to look up to. Thank you, Aly!

The Cleopatra note has made me remind my Fashion History lessons! Yes, men showed his legs usually more than women, you can see it on classic greek sculptures too (shorter tunics meant more dynamic activities, usually the only female dressing a short tunic is Artemis 🏹).

I believe every type is beautiful, but in a different way. And every person has their own list of what is beautiful and feminine for them. For some it is long slim legs, for others round hips with tiny waist. I am TR and always thought my legs were the worst part of my body-quite short and fleshy even, when I was very slim. But then so many men I had met told me my legs were amazing exactly because they were round, fleshy and soft-unlike man's legs... It made me realize different people prefer different things and it is not possible to be sexy or good looking for everybody. Instead-it is about loving yourself and accepting the fact, that you are not somebody else and will never be, about being at peace with all the things others may have, but you don't... Nobody has a perfect shape or facial features, what can be perfect though is relationship we have with our bodies😁

I also know men who love model-like long slim legs and that's fine -don't you think it would be ridiculous to try to convince them to find my legs beautiful, because I like and accept them? This video is about loving and embracing YOURSELF, it does not say others will consider you a beautiful woman when you aknowledge your beauty...The example I gave was to show that I always thought men only liked legs like models have-and I never will, but then men made me realize different people find beauty in different qualities and features.

For other colour types but still dramatic flowers could not look so true to them, but for spring type it's just perfect! I also go either for the flower pattern or lace or a more interesting clothes lines. Never all of them at the same time! 😊
I also have wavy/curly hair and extremely sensitive personality, which gives me more softness in general. I would like to see a video that would describe all this additional softness to the body and face that is unquestionably dramatic. How to play with it?

My viewpoint re 11:23 to 11:43: What Elizabeth Taylor wears as Cleopatra is airy and falls softly on her skin, showing her gentle "feminine" curves. On the other hand, although Richard Burton's Marc Antony is displaying his legs in the short skirt-like bottoms, the fabric appears fairly stiff, and the contrasting tones and lines are vertical, or square. That is why his inherent masculinity is enhanced, whilst Taylor's femininity is highlighted in her long attire.
