Nice outing…don’t worry about feeding the foxes I have them on my property and put stuff out for animals all the time …they won’t come near people and are not the only animals that eat the bones and scrap. Have fun stay safe.
I’m very much enjoying your longer content. You’re a very good storyteller also. What a coincidence that you and MDM met the way you did. Pretty funny that you got turned around in a woodland that you’ve been in and out of a couple of hundred times.
Its a fun place to get in and out. The is always trees falling and blocking the paths, its very rare that I take the same route each time.
I loved this longer video and the comprehensive gear reviews. I also enjoyed the tour of your camp and surroundings, it was nice to hear how you and Marc met and became fast friends. Looking forward to the next camp video
Glad you enjoyed it! We should be camping this coming weekend, but the is storm force winds forecast. Keeping one eye on the weather reports at the moment.
excellent video, mate. i like these longer videos with a nice tour of the woods. I'm glad you found your way out, lol
Glad you enjoyed it.
Looked a good camp shame about the tent hope you and mark are doing good maybe sort a camp out soon 👍
Yes mate, it would be good to catch up.
❤ great video.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Am new 2 your channel joined a few weeks ago and lv your videos 😊
Thanks for that welcome along. This is a bit of a long one. 😁😁
@@frogmaster83 thanks and I like longer videos anyway so it's all good 👍
I do lv your videos I always learn something 😌
Glad you like them!
Cool camp Allan, do love finding and following the game trails, where they cross streams ,bed down etc, fascinating stuff, knife looks alright, the tent is crap ,just my 2 pence worth, lol, cool how you guys met up ,true stealth lol, good health and safe travels my friend, cheers craig
Thanks for watching Craig.
Oooo I love my MilTec recom I'm in the process of swapping the poles out with aluminium ones, save a good few 100 grams, anyway I best shut up and watch the video!
I am thinking the same. I am ok with the weight, but the poles dont feel very strong.
Greetings from across the pond!! Great video Allen, I like that we both agree leather sheaths are the way to go. I actually have the same knife and I'm currently working on making a leather sheath for it. Once I'm satisfied with a design I'll gladly make one up for you and send it your way. Cheers mate!
Well that's a very generous offer. Thanks for your support on the channel. Al. 👍
Always Al!
Bought a Morakniv Companion recently and noticed the same thing. The "flat edge" of the knife is very broad, but not at all square. Sucks for using with a ferro rod. True, you can grind it down yourself, but I wholeheartedly agree -- for the higher end knives, I would expect it to show up that way without any extra effort on my part. Acceptable for the Mora, not so much for the more expensive kit.
Edit: Timestamp 6:45
Flatted mine off using my sharpening stone, shouldn't have to really.
Go on jim bob 👏 , must be the longest video you have ever done pal 👍 ✔️
Quite possibly.
@frogmaster83 good video pal 👍 , could possibly be a Mrs fox not Mr 🫵
@@mossy.48 quite possible, but it never comes close enough.
Nice little tour of your camp ares there, thanks Alan. Also, lovely to hear how you and Mark became friends! 😁
Glad you enjoyed it.
I like this tent, looks cozy and aerodynamic. I wonder how durable it is on windy weather. Oh and i know Zapas brand, they make quite good knives (i am from Poland like producer). Thanks for good vid :)
If the weather was very bad, I would change the poles to aluminium. Zapas knife is working well so far. 👍
I've always liked the look of this tent, especially the flecktarn pattern for stealth camping. But, I've heard the quality isn't there and some leak so I never bothered with it. Glad you got a good un.
Its ok so far but the poles do look a bit weak. Stitching and taped seams all look ok though.
@@frogmaster83 get some ali poles for it 👍
That looks a lovely wood/forest you camp in mate, there are no woods that big around where I live any woods we have are full of dog walkers
This one would probly take me an hour to walk from side to side.
Highlights; the CZ mechanics camo jacket and cracking off that fart in the morning😂
Just about sums it up! 😁
I think it is a good theme for: Bushcraft for beginners or WWW what when why ... how to pack your pack right
Thinking of doing more of that stuff over the summer.
The Polish knife isn't the only survival knife out there that can't strike a fire steel from straight out the box , there's a lot of expensive brands that can't do the same thing , the knife handle is another thing with the screws which will tell over time if they crack out , the knife is in the same price range as the Gerber Strong arm I think out the two I would definitely go for the Strong arm survival knife .
Lots of condensation in side that tent is not good or healthy it seems summer tent only.
Your camping area is A1 for camping and bushcraft activity you have years of surply fire wood there .
Thanks for watching and your comments.
It's nice to have a knife which will strike a good spark, but I never considered that a necessary feature. I carry an old KA-BAR Marine Corps fighting knife. It does everything I need a knife to do plus offers some personal protection from predators. I have other items that can throw a good spark such as the bottle opener on my swiss army knife.
I agree, my Opinal throws a good spark. Thing is, if I am spending good money I want it to do all the things I need, and out perform my cheap knife.
40 tents!,,, I thought I was bad with four guitars.
😂 He gets sent a lot to review, the bonus of being a bigger channel.
I have the recon 1 and find if your only using it once in a while you will get good use out of it , l started using it full time and eventually problems started , stitching started coming loose , poles started to splinter , had rather a lot of condensation in side , on one camp out it rained heavy and constant all night and got woken up due to leak , l paid 60 quid several years ago and l thought it was good for price , but as it costs over 100 now there are better options ,
Good to know! Its only one of a collection, so it will only come out now and then.
i have wanted one of those for ages , how hard are they to get in,? and how hard for a very fat lad who is no spring chicken?
Not too bad. The door is a decent size. I crawl in head 1st into the head end, sit down and swing my legs in. Little harder getting out, but not too bad for a tent that is so small.
@@frogmaster83 thanks!! Good to know its roomy as I will be living in it once the wife finds out i have purchased yet another tent.
@@lardyguts2 😂👍
@@lardyguts2 The camouflage comes in handy if she is really upset...don't be sen.
@@RealMash it wont work on her, back in the day they used to use her to flush out the Viet Cong from their underground tunnels by telling her they were about to go off down the pub without permission.
Hello love your videos are you going to do a camping video with Andy from Kent survival
I have in the past, but the last couple of camps we decided to have a "day off" it was nice to just camp without the pressure of filming. Might do one in the summer though. 👍
