Ah, Season One Jack. A man with an ex-wife he still craved, multiple siblings, riddled with stage fright and daddy issues, always tense, finally ending with a heart attack. And if you compare his character to the radically different Jack that dominates the rest of the series, my theory is that he died at the end of S1. The remainder of 30 ROCK is just the story Liz's granddaughter pitches to Kenneth in the future...

Jack spent his entire life focusing on being the best and being surrounded by similar A-type characters in college and business. And then he was in charge of 'east coast television' and met Liz Lemon and her group of loonies. He didn't die. He got brought down to their level.

Maybe Liz Lemon was the real mentor. She transformed Jack into a confident, six-sigma powerhouse! Within one season! It took Jack 7 years to mentor Liz...

I honestly forgot about Phoebe. Jack’s had so many great loves throughout the show and she just wasn’t memorable. Hell, crazy Jennifer Aniston only had one episode and she was more memorable 😂
But she has such an iconic line. I quote, "careful, my bones" constantly

The only thing i hate about this show is the constant shaky cam. Always gave me nausea of headaches after one episode so i couldn't binge.

I never understood why Jack needed Liz's validation for this part... especially since he spent a majority of Season 1 telling Liz that she could upgrade her life if she hung around him more.
It's a farce. It was always clear he cared about Liz's approval
Liz is his best friend whether he admits or not, that's why he wanted her approval.
That's why I preffer the Office channel, this could've been titled "Liz remembers Phoebe" and then a compilation of all the "I don't know if you remember me" scenes

It's weird that Jack is always implying that he finds Liz unattractive and far below his physical standards for a mate, yet he's attracted to Phoebe who is, no offense to the actress playing her, significantly less attractive than Liz. Liz is hot compared to Phoebe, and Phoebe seems waaaay too high-maintenance and emotionally cold to be any fun at all. I get that Jack was in a weird place at the time (iirc), but it just seems out of character.
Basically, Liz Lemon is uglier than she actually looks according to the show, but Tiny Fey's ego doesn't allow that.
