  • [WEBINAR] Unveiling 'The Golden Road': The Ancient Trade Route That Shaped Our World
Following the announcement of the Indian-Middle Eastern Economic Corridor (IMEEC) at the recent G20 Summit, renowned Scottish historian and author William Dalrymple highlights the historical significance as an ancient Red Sea trade route mentioned in his latest book, ‘The Golden Road’, soon to be published.
The IMEEC is a strategic initiative aimed at enhancing trade, connectivity, and cooperation between India, the Middle East, and Europe. The new trade route is expected to make trade between Europe and India 40% faster, a potential rival to China’s Belt and Road Initiative (BRI). This is significant at a time when China and Russia are meeting with others to extol the virtues of the BRI.
    Discussion Topics:
    - How ‘The Golden Road’ sheds light on forgotten chapters of history
    - Modern geopolitics and global trade
    - The economic, cultural, and political impact of the Red Sea Trade Route
