James takes his FlightLine Spitfire out for another flight. Awesome take off and flying but tries to glide in the landing with almost disastrous consequences. Fortunately only one of the mains landing gear units got pulled out and easily glued back in place for another flight later that day.
Filmed by Dom Mitchell for the 'Essential RC' CZcams channel using the Panasonic AG-UX180 Pro 4K camcorder.

Nice to see a 'scaleish' prop on a Spitfire.

At 5:10 that gear is toast. I'm surprised it didn't take more. The Avios Spitfire 1450mm Warbird would have taken that "mild" landing with ease, on grass.

Those pop out gear bases are a great design feature. And it did look like that landing would have been OK On a paved runway- maybe a little bouncy, but not as bad as landing on potholes!

those high tree lines makes for a difficult landing

Nice video, probably a glue issue, but a little more speed would allow a better landing...

Landed, and not the longest of runways either. The flying was nice. I did one like this with an FMS FW190. I should have done multiple landing passes before attempting to land.

Pilots needs to work on his chainsaw and thatch clearing technique. Flying skills seem ok.

never reduce throttle too much when landing. That's a heartbroken landing.

No small thanks for James for retrieving the plane from the tree...a big deal as it is no small feat. Thanks James...a tankard at the pub then? The pilot is buying then?
