Would love to compare this mic with the Neumann TLM 103.

Very familiar with the 103. This is much darker, saturated and harsher around 2-5k I'd say the 103 sounds more modern. Also the 103 has two sounds based on if you've removed the internal foam or not.

Wow, that's good to know. Do you have TLM 103? I'm in the fence between the two. According to some people TLM has harsh high end. What's your opinion?​@rickyanthony

@@AnwaarAliOfficial Yes it can be harsh. And you need good room treatment. I find it's not the best for male vocals and actually find tlm 102 smoother.

@rickyanthony I'm currently using a Groove Tubes GT 55 mic, and the reason I want to upgrade is because it's got brittle high and can be harsh. I guess I should keep my mic since 103 has the same issue.

What's the difference between this mic and tf 11?

Hello - great question. The TF11 is based off an AKG C12 circuit while the TF17 is based off the U47 circuit. That means the TF17 will be more mid-forward with an extended low frequency response compared to the TF11.
