Everyone loved Denis Law when he played football. But now, he has a deadly disease that’s making it impossible for him to live. From rags to riches, this is the story of his struggles that not many people know.
Born on February 24, 1940, in Aberdeen, Scotland, Denis Law is a legendary Scottish footballer known for his time as a forward. The youngest of seven in a fisherman's family, life wasn't always a breeze for him. Growing up in a council flat, young Denis didn't even have shoes until he was 12, and even then, they were hand-me-downs. Can you imagine? His first football boots were a second-hand gift from a kind neighbor!
This young lad was a die-hard Aberdeen FC supporter, saving every penny he could to watch them play. If he was short on cash, he'd head over to local amateur matches, but he would watch no matter what. Denis even had the chance to go to Aberdeen Grammar School, but that would have meant playing rugby instead of football, no way! So, Powis Academy it was.

Impossible to mark and as you rightly pointed out small but could out jump any centre half and could somehow seem to hang up there, oh and brave. May God bless you Denis and thanks for the lovely memories.

Born in Aberdeen, I lived in the same street as Denis's brother. Denis had cartilage surgery and came to Aberdeen for a visit. Me and my mates saw a red Jaguar pull up and knew who would be driving. We ran over and leaned on the fence as The King got out. Although recuperating from the surgery, he still took the time for a kick about. A real Legend. PS I was in the Stretford End when Denis back healed the ball into the net for City. He was devastated .

Denis will always be the king of old Trafford, he played for the rest of the world team.
His brave fight with dementia and vascular dementia, is a tragedy .
King Denis is and will always be my football hero, I’ve supported Manchester United since 1963.
Denis Law scored 6 goal for Man City in the FA cup the match was abandoned in the second half, in the replay City lost and Denis 6 goal were taken off him, if the match would have not been abandoned Denis Law would have been the top FA cup goalscorer of all time.
Not bad for a skinny little lad from Aberdeen.
Keep fighting Denis, you’re not alone.
