If Kings can't take the hard decision of killing people, they would be in a monastery, not leading a kingdom. Don't know where you got that idea that Kings are passive. Some are but they will most likely die a faster death than those who aren't.

It's a shame too, since he has an interesting dynamic with plenty of the cast. You have to strike the right balance I suppose, use him right.
One could also plop him into some cosmic team, like with Hyperion and Silver Surfer and Nova and Beta Ray Bill and whatnot.
Hmmm, to play the devils advocate, its a little hard imagining a long standing avengers roster without Thor. You’d wanna heavy hitter around thors base power to be on it like that but no one seems to make the cut notoriety or personality wise.

@@invadernik No, as in being on a team of people significantly weaker than you, same with Doctor Strange. Dr. Strange back then consistently fought multiversal level threats and was practically peers with Cosmic Beings, but when they put him in a team like the Avengers, the writers had to find a way to nerf him, because if he retained his original strength, he could solve problems with a flick of a finger thus making Iron Man and friends useless, same thing with Thor.

These cyttorak drones must be powerful to do this to king Thor but I fail to see why King Thor is still apart of the avenger, Its like having Dr fate on the main JL team or Spectre on the JSA he's too powerful for the team they can easily replace him with Blue Marvel or Hyperion but they won't leave Thor alone to do his own thing like they did with Hulk.

As much as I already love a lot of Marvel stories after this I can say they're more epic when read to Castlevania music.
That's considered Thor "not holding back" now? There are comics where his strikes have atomizes planets (plural) in a single blow. Tony should have been ripped in half if Thor was really trying.
To be fair, those constructs doesn't seem to need Thor's full strenght to be dealt with. He just used lethal atacks, not his full strenght. His maximum would destroy the entire planet.

DC makes money selling action figures of well known characters such as Lex Luthor, the Joker and Darkseid. If DC went the way of the single use villain, no one who is a parent would know any of the villains of the current generations. You seem to forget that DC Studios and DC Comics is a business.
A lot of readers like the pretty female characters like Catwoman, Poison Ivy, Star Sapphire, Faora, Superwoman. They wouldn't like it if they were killed.
Story wise Superman told Ultraman who kills his foes that having to face his foes in a re-occurring fashion coming up with new plans keeps him on his toes and makes him more capable than Ultraman who slays his foes in their most basic form.

For example if Perry White is being held hostage and Supes doesn't know where, Clark could let himself be kidnapped in the hopes that he is taken where Perry White is being held. He wouldn't gain that info if he showed the would be kidnappers how they have no chance against him because he's Kryptonian.
There are different tools in a toolbox because not every carpentry problem can be resolved with a hammer.
i love how when anyone praises or complains about current Thor it turns into a Thor vs Superman or the Hulk in the comments. Canon Thor has undergone revisions that have damaged the character significantly (for old time DC fans.... think about what happened to Hawkman with all the revisions to the character, he was almost unusable for a time. they have been taking apart Thor in the same way for a few years) . Speaking of Superman however....he is character that was made to be unbeatable. he beats beings that he shouldnt be able to and does things outside of his powerset but even he has been the victim of bad writing... i mean Supes 1mill got stomped easily by one of the magical wraiths controlled by evil Raven...so inconsistent feats for both characters even current state base level. Classic Thor would have simply drained the magic and energy from the constructs as he has done instead he gets smacked around by constructs he can easily break while Captain Marvel doesnt hesitate and just smashes...
MPL is featless and base Superman would chronologically lose to Raven. An evil Raven already almost killed Superman before and regular basis Raven is above herald tiers even beat the likes of Zatanna shazam Superman and flash etc back in the 80s also easily fights with a bloodthirsty Etrigan and she tore his father's heart of his chest and beat the shadow raiders and penetrated the pax dei and can teleport to Spectre location and before wally west reaches the point.

Current base Raven is a almost a low Sky father level now anyway beyond herald level tiers and her magic is superior to Merlin. Raven is an adult and free of her father's influence completely more stable. but she doesn't have much appearance except teaching Shazam magic.
Regular Raven's more powerful than regular Superman and Shazam. Her soulself is the nexus of all souls and dimensions both known and unknown. she turned Azarath into one of Doom's hells even shaded the realm by her demonic presence after her birth.
Unkindness takes place in 853 century in the far far far future nothing to do with the actual present day canon.

Raven here is around like universe level above Galaxy and Solar System levels. Raven made Superman powerless,destroyed Tamaran, attacked Azarath which a way bigger realm than Asgard , one shotted her family who had the power to bust a universe and considered their powers nothing to her after they absorbed some of thier father's powers. Raven also warped Azarath into a cursed dimension after her birth and the sky turned black due to her demonic presence and destroyed her first planet as 10 years old. Raven was considered a valuable tool for destruction for her father. Raven and Trigon always had that Kratos and Ares type of relationship but currently base Raven which is an adult is way above her evil version basically a lower skyfather tier character if written properly without being nerfed to death. Trigon also gave her the soulself and the time he comes for her and comes out, she's indeed his daughter. It's a shapeless void busted with too much extra dimensional energy.

You're impressed by the wrong thing. He stops holding back, and when he throws his hammer, is JUST strong enough to disable Iron Man's armor, but not strong enough to actually harm Stark, in it. IRON MAN is what you should be impressed by. Last time he fought Thor, he got his armor destroyed by a mystic lightning bolt. Now, it's stronger; and now that this has happened, you're a fool to think he won't make the next suit strong enough to take hits from Thor's hammer, next, and keep on trucking.
