Yeah. That one was probably the most at risk of being boring but they managed to make it feel like actual horror at times.
I also think it's a good way to clue people into the fact that most of these vaults were horrible science experiments, even when it might not look like it at first glance.
This show was amazing. Season 2 of invincible just barely beats it for me this year

It’s a really good series. Captured the vibe, look and the characters feel like they could be from the games. It also has really dark humour which was a suprise.
People that say this is “woke” are clowns.
Maximus' character illustrates the huge divide between haves and have-nots. It's a character that can be potentially very stereotypical, but I think the actor is trying to pull away from that. I think his interrogation by the BoS elder tells us everything we need to know about him: he desperately wants to feel empowered and at the same time, wants to live up to the ideals whom he thinks the BoS represents. We see this once he dons the Power Armour, but we also see that power easily taken away from him when the fusion core (arguably a departure from game cannon but who cares). His perception about the BoS gets shattered near the end of SE01, but will he come away still a moral person going into SE02 just as how we feel about Lucy? I think the acting for Maximus is a bit more subtle and not as nuanced as it could be, but I appreciate what the show is doing with the character.
One thing I am so happy for is that this show has got people to play the games, and not just the newer ones. People are playing the older isometric games, and that makes me so happy.
My favorite thing in the show was when they had the choice to give the fusion core back to the vault or not. That feels like a quest line straight out of the game! Do you leave a whole society of people to die or do you take their energy source to power a tin can for a little bit longer? lol

It’s the perfect video game adaptation: a true extension of the games that doesn’t detract from the legacy of its predecessors.
I loved it, i dont watch many video game adaptions, but the trailer had me really interested, though i have to say I seen alot of hate for it for being "woke",like I've seen a bunch of videos about it, which i dont quite understand (like it seems nonsensical), but oh well they're missing out 🤷♂️

"Woke" has become a engagement tool for creators, to gain more interaction between the lefts and rights. Woke was once a catchphrase to a political argument starter. Don't get me wrong, Wokeism still exists but when used in "Anti-woke" CONTENT farms it basically just becomes a Word for easy clicks and viewer engagement. I still see Hollywood as a whole Woke hivemind but when used in videos for content it feels redundant in a way...

Like even Ben Shapiro is more restrictive on what to call woke or not woke. The Fallout show is definitely not woke, its just good cinema.
As a Fallout veteran, I cannot recommend the games enough! My personal favorite is Fallout New Vegas, but Fallout 2, 3, and 4 are also amazing! I really enjoyed the show considering I was expecting a dumpster fire. Besides messing with the NCR lore a little bit, I think they did a great job. I’m hoping for more mutated creatures next season too. *SPOILER* The end of the season shows Lucy’s father walking towards New Vegas! I’m really hoping they do something with Quarry Junction because iykyk 👀
I mean, can you _really_ say they messed with the NCR lore when New Vegas' entire story outright shows us that the NCR is stretched too thin and falling apart? And not only that, but other aspects of the NCR plot in the TV show were pulled straight from the Van Buren project, which was *_also_* where NV pulled the Legion and Battle for Hoover Dam from.
5:40 I'm usually all about the Watsonian reasons for why things happen in a story, but I do like the Doylist explanation for Maximus-he's only giving lip-service to the BoS because he wants to wear the cool armor, because that's what 99.99...% of players (with a 2% margin for variance) do in the games-the BoS are cool and all, but I want that armor for myself, and I'm gonna go around fighting raiders and getting paid like I'm a Mercenary Iron Man! Who cares if the Brotherhood doesn't get a talking toaster to put in their hoard?
I’m not well versed into the world either but the Fallout 4 music is chef’s kiss. Maybe I’ll watch the show and start playing again.
As someone who's never played any of the games I loved it! So much so that I really wanna get into the games, I have all of em except 4 and cant wait for the next season!

i hated maximus because since the start but I think that's by design. He's such a selfish idiot that you think he's a bad person. But at the end you see he's just a alright guy with an IQ of 1 and I appreciate that lol
I agree! I couldn’t understand him at first. The way they implied he sabotaged his friend made me hate him. All his reactions are off, his facial expressions are strange and it’s hard to deduce who he is as a character. But I actually love him now. The actor did a spectacular job with his role!

I think when folks pick back through the episodes we’ll better appreciate just how much visual story telling there is. It not always so on the nose like the ‘Plan D’ last supper scene but there’s so much in the background details to unpack that I wouldn’t be surprised if sleuths are finding little and even big plot points years into the future.
