The cast and crew of the 2012 production of Jesus Christ Superstar give us a behind the scenes look at how they transformed Andrew Lloyd Webber's classic musical 'Jesus Christ Superstar' for an arena tour.
From Jesus Christ Superstar (2012): Director Laurence Connor presents this contemporary re-imagining of Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice's legendary rock musical Jesus Christ Superstar. The world renowned phenomenon portrays the story of the last seven days of Christ leading up to his crucifixion as seen through the eyes of Judas Iscariot. Filmed as an arena rock opera, the performance features a star-studded line-up which includes award-winning musical comedian, Tim Minchin as the role of Judas Iscariot; pop icon and former Spice Girl Melanie C as Mary Magdalene; radio DJ Chris Moyles in his stage debut as King Herod; and Ben Forster, to take on the title role of Jesus. This award-winning creative team is sure to captivate audiences and transform the hugely popular stage production into a unique, modern, state-of-the-art spectacular.

I couldn't wait for this show to show up on CZcams. I bought the DVD and it was worth every penny😀 I watch it every day and it helps me get through the day while home bound due to covid-19....and this crazy winter storm! Texas is snow covered from Red River to the Gulf and one more round is coming this evening. This show is the best Superstar I have ever seen. 💞
It is good to see someone buying a copy of a show that they like, and thus supporting the creative people who are not working during the pandemic. Much better than begging for free shows.

I saw this posted this year and got so excited, thinking this might be performed this summer; read further and saw this is a 2012 production. *sigh* I miss LIVE theater so much.

This is my absolute favourite stage production. Is there a recorded version I can purchase that does not autotune Tims magnificent voice? I'm not sure why that was needed.
