i have never wanted something more in my life...
That's very nostalgic! My dad used to build trains just like those, he died when I was young but I remember him driving me on one at the local park he and his friends had set up. They weren't kits! His trains were made from raw sheet metal with brass and copper pieces he would melt and cast into the various parts he needed, the plans he used were from full sized steam trains, he just scaled them down. It's nice to see that hobby is still going strong.
I love the switching setup. That's absolutely brilliant! I love the entire thing as a whole. Great job all.
Wow, you really have to have faith in that track work! If that train derailed, you could really take a bad tumble going that fast! Great video!
that track work looks better than most of the goods track on american railways to be honest!

I stand open mouthed in awe at the technical expertise these builders posess _ a quantum leap beyond my humble talents . Many Thanks for this excellent upload .
What a speed you could get out of that Stanier machine!
Nice gathering of LMS locos here!
great to see people building these locos great work looks lovely!
Fantastic locomotives, great workmanship!
Unbelievable power... Thank you for sharing.
I was relieved when you caught up with the preceding train and had to slow down!
Lovely loco, one of my favourite types. Just running in so going at nowhere near full power. Great piece of workmanship and when she is properly run in she will really go I am sure.
brilliant work !
We all would love to be in the position of having the time and money and most important to have the skill to put it together. I personally do not have those but I am fortunate enough to live near a preserved railway where I go and help all I can. This gets me footplate rides and that is something else.
simply stunning!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Absolutely brilliant...:-)
What a wicked lil Screamer she is!!!
It feels like a roller coaster.
Hay Mark,This is amazing
My daughter 5 3/4 likes the Duchess the best and that comes from living in a mostly Great Western household which is 3 1/2 miles from the Reading track by road.
A completed Gemma sits in our living room with several dolls who are trying to drive her.
Lovely locomotives.
David.
PS. several others under construction of course.
Depends on the quality of the coal, and how the fire has been bedded. Sometimes, loco crews will pile a heap of coal on to make a big, smoky fire just for a photo op. For a miniature loco like this, the driver doesn't want a huge cloud of smoke, cinders and sparks blowing back in his face.
Holy moly that is fast!!! :o
Riding a toy train is like riding a moped, it's fun until your friends see you!
that is....awesome!!
Never seen a setup like that before. But I like it.
Holy crap, that is cool.
A little larger than my OO, SO when you get tired of that I will be happy to escort it to a new home. MINE!
Nice train and nice track.
Pretty quick little train :)
no que locura hermosa, es impresionante!!!
Blue - Gordon :: Red - James That show was my childhood growing up :)
Awesome man ,reminds me of Thomas and friends
GREAT VIDEO
Great videos. Love steam engines across the world!!
Excellent
I am a member of wrexham model engineers and help Dave W with his 6238 city of carlisle. Nice engine.
This is my dream hobby!
thats pretty cool
I see the old folk enjoy this hobby a lot more than the youngsters. What a way to retire! Envy them
I thought the same thing at first but the way the human carrying carriage hangs down either side of the track should make it nicely stable and I bet the locos are heavy as hell.
Great!
So amazingly jealous right now....
The power of steam!
I take it they are elevated to keep the center of gravity lower than the rails? Like if you ran this flat on the ground I would imagine the center would be too high and it'd derail and fall over quite easily.
damn that thing rips when you open her up haha
Where can i buy 5 inch gage track? i have an old steam locomotive about the same size as this one that my grandfather gave me long ago and i have restored it to great working condition over 15 years..
I love steam locomotives
that is one fast locomotive and kinda scary how fast it is for a model
beautiful loco seen here up close when nigel (her owner) brought her to put on display. weighs alot though :P
THIS IS NOT SPAM - You need to research the Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch railway - it's a working narrow gauge line that uses beautifully scaled-down replicas of mainline express steam locos.
i can only think of one thing while watching this
WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
great
The scene at 8:47 kinda reminds me of The Small Railway Engines (you know, the Thomas characters).
super !!!
epic train.
Gordon and James are some of the mainline/standard gauge engines. I was referring to Mike, Bert and Rex. They were the three original Small Railway Engines that were only ever in The Railway Series by the Rev. W. Awdry and they never appeared on TV. I'm guessing you know who he was, but I'm also guessing that you didn't know who the Small Railway Engines were.
It looks just like my Lone Star OOO locomotive. Is anyone running an A-4 Mallard or Sir Ralph Wedgewood in 5"? Great work.
.......Dear Santa.....
i think i already know the answer to this question but, what were these used for other than scale recreation? or is this pretty much it? because it seem the larger locomotives, like this or bigger, can pull or push some weight.
It is nantwich and it is Dave w's 6238 City of Carlisle. I help him alot with it and his royal scot at wrexham model engineers.
What does she weigh? how are they transported?
how fast is this and what would the scale speed be
YES!!!!
now you dont want to either fall off or the train to derailing going that fast...
this is soo cool. never seen one go this fast before. would love to have one in my back yard. how is it powered? is it gas?
What coal are you guys using ?
and set a new speed record for 5" gauge locomotives..! Excellent stuff, you have more nerve than me, especially on a raised track! Which club is this, don't recognise the track....?
He meant Rex, Bert and Mike, the Small engines from the Railway Series, not the Television Series.
Молодцы! Отлично!
Very interesting! REAL steam locomotives right? Or ELectric?
how!!!???? this is amazing! did u buy or make the train?
wao
what a scale of this?
How much does it weigh?
why would anyone dislike a video like this??
Which country and which place?.... please
haha true but its that, that the train is heavy as hell and then kind of tight turns (not tight probably only looks tight going fast) i have a h0 scale modeltrain also heavy as hell, if o go too fast round a corner it will roll over, only why i got the thoughts here too
Looks like you're doing about 80!!
Fico fascinado com tudo isto. kku70
thats scary fast
i think most people build their own and it would be hard to put a price tag on them.
I so want one
C'est beau est puis ses bien .
How fast is it going?
niice train
where was this at
Did it topple at all?
were are you driving those
parabens pelo video
Slow train but a strong one
Yeah I see what you mean, it's only a 5 inch gauge and all the loco weight is above the track.
Wo ist das?
And where does the coal go?
no because it has 2 rails ?
Slow? multiply the top speed he is running by the scale of the train: you will be surprised!
dude is he riding the train xD
Can I get a ride? :)
longest rail loco i ever see.
U ever flung her off the rails?
How fast are you running? You have more nerve than me!!!
