There's basically two ways detailing companies work. One they can give a base price and subject it to changes based on how much work/how dirty/how neglected/etc. things are--the worse it is, the more they charge. OR, they charge fixed prices and basically "take the good with the bad" meaning they hope to get more 'easy' jobs than difficult/time consuming/disgusting ones. As the business-runner *they* elect which general philosophy to adopt; as the consumer, *you* elect which type to hire/pay. If you don't like getting charged more than the guy that has a mostly clean car, then you're free to find another detailer that uses a fixed-price model. Of course there's also other ways. One of which is to charge a high initial price for a car like this and then charge a much lower "maintenance" cleaning price which must be performed within x number of months. In doing this a detailer gets paid for the "dirty work" plus gets a steady stream of income from a customer that continues to bring it to be cleaned every 6 months or whatever. In any event this car *is* disgusting IMO. If it's "not even that dirty" owner should probably clean it themselves. 250 GBP is still pretty darn good for this job.

well a deep clean price should stay the same no matter the conditions of the car. that's the point of deep clean. You could argue about the price if you have to deep clean a little car or a big car. But following this logic a little car would get a discount and big car would get a price increase no matter what

It’s hard to price a car until you see it in person. You can give a minimum starting price for the size of the car alone but as always, the price can increase depending on its condition when it arrives to the detailer. @@Elite_Kleanz_Detailing Increasing the price once work has already begun is very scummy and I would also argue that is it on the verge of being a scam (even though I know it is probably legal). It is fine to increase the price, we all understand that if the car requires more work then it will cost more. But that needs to be transparent and done before work starts. And if you misjudge what the cleaning cost will be then I am sorry but that is your problem, not the customers. You have promised to deliver a service at a set price and you should to do that. Part of your work is to correctly determine what the cost of the labor is going to be and to set a price based on that. And then make this transparent to the buyer. If you can't manage to do that, then you probably shouldn't be in this business.

Stripping lettering off controls, buttons and such on the inside is definitely a case of improper chemicals and/or technique on the interior. This appears to be a mobile detailer so most likely it was booked by phone, sight unseen. Customer probably was told that the price starts at 175 if the car is relatively clean and the minimum amount of time and work is necessary, but goes up from there. The words "starting at" or "from" on price listings even imply that it might be more than the base price. Customer probably stated over the phone "Oh it's not that dirty, I keep it pretty clean." Detailer shows up at his house for the appointment, and finds this disaster, yeah..price goes up. The base is the bare minimum that it would cost for a car that basically needs a wash, quick polish, vac, and interior wipedown with maybe a stain or two to shampoo out based on the amount of time, labor, and supplies that it take to do the job as well as gas to get there. Mobile detailers run into this scenario a lot. Some price accordingly in the base price to allow for stuff like this and then only charge more if it's an absolute disaster, that way if you got a relatively clean car, you make a decent profit, and a little less profit, or breaking even on the dirtier ones like this one.
I give 10 euros for this in Greece and a white dude does it. Ok if it takes 2 hours I won’t lie…I give him 2 euros extra 😂 With the 200 pounds I did a very expensive deep cleaning of a home for 5 hours with 5 people crew in the US.

I used to keep my car spotless, vacuumed the interior, the whole 9 yards. Had some mental health issues due to work, kind of let it go. Still cleaned the exterior, interior needs a LOT of help. My seven year old car needs a deep cleaning, just need to go get it done now.
Reminds me of my first car (A Fiat 127). When the engine blew up on the previous owner, she just stuffed it down beside her shed and used it as dry(Ish) storage space for chicken bedding........ For THREE YEARS!!! I got it for next to nothing when she was getting ready to move house. I dropped another engine in it, then pulled out every scrap of interior (apart from the dashboard). I ended up hoovering, scrubbing, and jet washing everything multiple times because spilt sawdust had started to turn to compost in the carpets and folds of the seats. It took about half a day of scrubbing and hose piping for the water coming off the seats to stop being brown and murky. It was SOOOOO filthy. But on the plus side, it came up pretty good in the end, and the whole car, the second hand engine, getting it road legal, and all the cleaning products still cost me less than two tanks of fuel would cost me now. For a first car back in the 80s, it was more than presentable. 😁
I saw someone complain they raised the price... I wish my work did that, cause 40 dollars for a interior cleaning (not deep), when the car is a giant SUV, and trashed, when a little toyota comes in, near perfect condition and is offered the same price

Bro, we paint aircraft where I work, we don't reduce prices because your brought in a new plane, I'm still doing work to it. But some guys bring in a p.o.s that's been painted 7 times and has all kinds of issues... Yeah the price goes up
Deep clean is just that, a detailed work on car's interior. With this much residue all over the place, yeah, that stuff needs to be handled first. You bet you're gonna pay for that extra work.
He a scam artist 😂
BINGO!!! his excuse to charging cars so fucking much even if theyre already 90% clean is that he just charges a set amount to deep clean cuz it takes him time and yada yada... but then turns around and charges MORE if its actually dirty? seriously the most sketchy, outright scam of a "business" ive seen in forever. stay clear of this guy, folks.
well a deep clean price should stay the same no matter the conditions of the car. that's the point of deep clean. You could argue about the price if you have to deep clean a little car or a big car. But following this logic a little car would get a discount and big car would get a price increase no matter what
Wrong. A deep clean takes around 5 hours. If the cars in bad condition its going to take 6/7 hours if not more. Hence you charge more as it takes more time
@@Elite_Kleanz_Detailingbro a deep clean is a deep clean there is no other way of looking at it, what u did charging 250 was wrong if u say a deep clean is 175 its 175 cuz ure doing a deep clean cuz now i bet every car u clean u just up the price cuz u can which is wrong
It’s hard to price a car until you see it in person. You can give a minimum starting price for the size of the car alone but as always, the price can increase depending on its condition when it arrives to the detailer. A price range would be good to give the customer an idea of what to expect based on a requested description or even a few pictures but the final price would be given once it’s seen in person. I never give an exact price until I see it in person.

Own a business. You might understand. Idiot
@@carl_hanssonprice was agreed before any work was carried out

I always wonder if they regrease all the hinges after they strip them bare with cleaner 🤔
Nope, well, not the ones ive been to. They just charge you a fortune to get your interior wet under the carpet which takes forever to dry and causes rust in the floor and roof (from evaporation) and to remove the lubricant from your door hinges, indicator/wiper stalks and wear the text off your controls
@@Colt45hatchback if they are doing all of those things then they aren't doing it right, or using the wrong chemicals in the wrong places, or a combination of both...carpets should be shampooe'd scrubbed then extracted, leaving basically what moisture that the fibers are holding to dry, which shouldnt take more than an hour or two. If they're stripping grease off hinges and such, then they are using degreaser, which should only be used in extreme circumstances and in the proper places. Stripping lettering off controls, buttons and such on the inside is definitely a case of improper chemicals and/or technique on the interior. Proper chemical for the interior is mild enough to not strip printing, but has surfactants to lift and encapsulate dirt and dust to make it wipe away easily without scrubbing on the delicate parts. I'd find a different detailer...if you're in the Alabama area, look me up!

I understand more work was required, but if you say to a customer, yes it's £175 for a deep clean, then look at it and go oh it's now £250 because it's been sat there, they're going to think your a scammer.
If I go to a customer in my trade, quote a price, then arrive at the job and go oh sorry, there was a problem it's now X, they'd kick off.
I completely agree with your no refund if you need to cancel within like an hour's notice, but this is a bit far, it's up to you to scope the work as the expert, not the customer.
Ok if it takes 2 hours I won’t lie…I give him 2 euros extra 😂

I used to keep my car spotless, vacuumed the interior, the whole 9 yards. Had some mental health issues due to work, kind of let it go. Still cleaned the exterior, interior needs a LOT of help. My seven year old car needs a deep cleaning, just need to go get it done now.
I know someone whose dad has a truck growing mushrooms. He left a window cracked for a couple months and it’s Oregon
Now it's nice and clean for the mechanic to go through and discover the wire a mouse chewed open. Don't let your cars sit folks if you can help it.
I saw someone complain they raised the price... I wish my work did that, cause 40 dollars for a interior cleaning (not deep), when the car is a giant SUV, and trashed, when a little toyota comes in, near perfect condition and is offered the same price
I think you should have charged more. Especially seeing other videos and how beautiful the cars look when you are done. I am sure this car was pristine when you finished. I hope they gave you a great tip !
Are you rich? That's an absurd price. 75 pounds extra is mental. If I pulled up and they said that, I'm never coming back.
