Backpacking to Bedwell & Cream Lake // hidden gems on Vancouver Island (hiking + camping in BC)

This is one of the best hikes on Vancouver Island! I might even go as far to say it's one of the best hikes in British Columbia - bonus points, it's dog friendly. Backpacking to Bedwell & Cream Lake in Strathcona Provincial Park will not disappoint.
Bedwell Lake, Baby Bedwell Lake, and Cream Lake are some of the most amazing places to visit in BC - and they are all located along the same trail! Do you like hiking and camping, alpine lakes, and fewer crowds? If so, then these hidden gems on Vancouver Island are for you. This is a tough hike though, so come prepared and always practice Leave No Trace principals! I will link a few of my backpacking gear videos and info on LNT below.

Brings back good memories! Did this with family and friends, had the rocks at baby Bedwell to ourselves, simply amazing! Tried to get to Creamnbut turned around JUST in time before a crazy storm hit us. Really felt for the folks crammed into Bedwell or on the way to Cream, it would have been brutal for them.

Baby Bedwell Lake is the prettier of the 2 camp spots but adds more to your hike to Cream Lake if that's your destination. Bedwell Lake and then day hike to Cream Lake and back is My favorite hike on the Island. The fog you see rolls up the Bedwell Sound from the west coast, cool spot.
