- "Given this life changing opportunity to make a music video for Ed Sheeran, I decided to take inspiration from Ed’s inspiration for “Autumn Variations”, and make this video for “Amazing” my most personal project, ever.
Shooting was over 5 days total, our scenes were mostly captured in the area I grew up (Georges River Council), where my parents still live. They actually ended up giving up their entire home for the duration of filming, and I somehow kept the entire process a secret from them. In fact, we cheated all interior scenes in the video to be shot in their house. It wasn’t until our final day of filming that I broke the news to them of who the video was for, and in front of the cast and crew, I dedicated the entire project to them.
What makes us human is the texture of imperfection. Struggle comes in many forms. Some of it is hidden, but sometimes we get to share these moments with a witness. As the third track on “Autumn Variations”, this video for “Amazing” carries the stories of 3 characters. I can’t help but feel uplifted by the hope this song carries, so despite the adversities, the determination within these 3 keeps them afloat.

A quick note for anybody reading this.
I was lucky enough to Direct this video; feeling very blessed to have been granted this life changing opportunity to tell my story alongside Ed Sheeran's. I know many people (including myself) found these lyrics very relatable. This video wouldn't exist without the countless hours, and huge effort that the crew and cast put into this (far more than listed in description). Just wanted to say that I'm extremely grateful to have been a part of this, and a huge thank you to everyone involved.

AUSTRALIAN CULTURE REFERENCES
- Cable ties on the bike helmet are a defensive mechanism that Australian’s would understand (Magpie birds like to swoop)
- Lamingtons are a typically Australian delicacy / food; the Scottish grandmother of our cinematographer (slow and steady contestant) had never tried one until that day!
- AFL is a uniquely Australian sport; I figured it wouldn’t be as Australian if I went with Soccer / “Football” when referencing Ed’s loved sport.
